They&#8217;re running two events, <em><strong>Ultimate Bar Brawl<\/strong><\/em>, on Friday night at Wildpitch\u00a0Underground, and <em><strong>Come Hell or High Water<\/strong><\/em> on Saturday night at\u00a0Espacio Discotheque, both of which will be airing live on Fite.tv. The big news out the gate was the return of <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2018\/12\/26\/ultimate-bar-brawl-features-ken-shamrock-vs-filthy-tom-lawlor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Ken Shamrock<\/strong>, who is facing off against one of the indie&#8217;s rising stars in Major League Wrestling (MLW) and former UFC fighter <strong>&#8220;Filthy&#8221; Tom Lawlor<\/strong><\/a> on the Friday night\u00a0show. The weekend shows will feature Lawlor and Shamrock on both nights, plus the likes of <strong>Joey Ryan, Penelope Ford, ODB<\/strong>, <strong>Lucha Underground<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Mil Muertes<\/strong>, <strong>The Besties in the World\u00a0<\/strong>(Davey\u00a0Vega &amp; Mat Fitchett), <strong>DoomFly<\/strong> (Eli Everfly &amp; Delilah Doom), <strong>Darby Allin, Priscilla Kelly, Matt Cross<\/strong> and many more. But it was his appearance at the first <em><strong>Joey Janela&#8217;s Spring Break<\/strong><\/em> from <strong>Game Changer Wrestling (GCW)<\/strong> over WrestleMania weekend in 2017 that really captured the public&#8217;s imagination once again. Since then, Glacier has returned to action, competing for the likes of <strong>Ring of Honor<\/strong> (in the 2017\u00a0Honor Rumble), <strong>Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW), CHIKARA<\/strong>, and more. One of the most horrific character creations of WCW during the company&#8217;s rise in the early 1990s, The Yeti (pronounced Yeah-<em>TAY<\/em>) was only briefly seen in WCW before being immediately repackaged and removed, but over the past few years, The Yeti has developed a cult-like following for it&#8217;s Ed Wood-type absurdity. For those who don&#8217;t recall, The Yeti was a character portrayed by <strong>Ron Reis<\/strong>, a young indie wrestler from the West Coast, but a giant trained by former WWE Hall of Famer <strong>&#8220;Big&#8221; John Studd<\/strong>. He made his WCW debut in October of 1995, emerging from a block of ice as the new &#8220;insurance policy&#8221; of <strong>The Dungeon of Doom<\/strong>, <strong>Kevin Sullivan<\/strong>&#8216;s menagerie of the macabre that included the likes of <strong>Kamala, The Giant<\/strong> (Big Show), <strong>Vader, Meng<\/strong> (Haku), <strong>The Shark<\/strong> (Earthquake) and <strong>The Zodiac<\/strong> (Brutus Beefcake), all determined to bring down <strong>Hulk Hogan<\/strong> and <em><strong>Hulkamania<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Yeti&#039;s WCW debut - 10\/23\/95\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/swsVPdndk40?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Yeti made his most infamous appearance at <em><strong>Halloween Havoc &#8217;95<\/strong><\/em>, when he emerged to help The Giant against Hogan, in the bear hug that looked oddly like an awkward dry hump.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hulk Hogan vs Giant Halloween Havoc Footage\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ELl3TTeGwek?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Yeti&#8217;s bandaged costume was quickly changed to ninja gear, then a name change to <strong>The Super Giant Ninja<\/strong>, before settling on <strong>Big Ron Studd<\/strong>, but when the Dungeon crumbled, the character disappeared. Reis would make a return to WCW in 1998 (with his name respelled <strong>Reece<\/strong>) as the new enforcer for <strong>Raven&#8217;s Flock<\/strong>. But to many WCW fans, Ron Reis&#8217; most iconic role &#8211; much like how <strong>Fred &#8220;Tugboat&#8221; Ottman<\/strong> will forever be <strong>The Shockmaster<\/strong> to many &#8211; is that of the 7 foot tall bandaged Yeti in WCW.
