Stars like <strong>Tessa Blanchard<\/strong>\u00a0took center stage, and events such as\u00a0<strong>WWE<\/strong>&#8216;s <em><strong>Evolution<\/strong> <\/em>got fans everywhere excited to see women wrestle. But it wasn&#8217;t just the big name promotions. Indie promotions played, arguably, an even greater role in showcasing the best that women&#8217;s wrestling has to offer and pushing it to new limits.\u00a0<strong>RISE Wrestling<\/strong>\u00a0ended the year by hosting <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2018\/10\/20\/tessa-blanchard-mercedes-martinez-set-record-for-longest-womens-match\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a record-breaking and headline-grabbing 75-minute iron man match<\/a>. And <strong>Booker T<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Reality of Wrestling<\/strong>\u00a0(ROW) closed 2018 by hosting its <em>fourth<\/em> women-only event of the year (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=T8ruIxQtigw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">click here to watch its stellar main event<\/a>). This Saturday, the two promotions will collaborate to bring us\u00a0<em><strong>ROW on the<\/strong><\/em><strong> RISE<\/strong>, featuring four announced matchups.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Rachael Ellering vs. Shotzi Blackheart<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_35463\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35463\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35463\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/01\/Dw0h1mmW0AAPxOc-e1547567277762.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-35463\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Shotzi Blackheart has wrestled many matches for RISE. She is the former Phoenix of RISE title holder, and competed for the Guardians of RISE tag team titles in the last show,\u00a0<em><strong>RISE 10<\/strong><\/em>. Rachael Ellering,\u00a0a former powerlifter, will be wrestling her first solo match in RISE after two tag team appearances. Both women are well-traveled, accomplished competitors, appearing in promotions such as <strong>SHINE<\/strong>, <strong>NOVA<\/strong>, and <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong>. They are also both making their debut with Reality of Wrestling.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Delilah Doom vs. Su Yung<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_35467\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35467\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35467\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/01\/Dwup-sBX0AEjUsc-e1547567298110.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-35467\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>IMPACT Wrestling<\/strong> veteran <strong>Rosemary<\/strong> is lurking in the background of this picture, although she is not officially in the match. This may be because Su Yung&#8217;s rivalry with Rosemary could play into this matchup. It may also be because Rosemary has decided she is not finished with Delilah Doom. During <em>RISE 10<\/em>, Delilah and Shotzi challenged Rosemary&#8217;s friends,\u00a0<strong>Paradise Lost<\/strong>, for the Guardians of RISE championship. The &#8220;Rosemary&#8217;s Rules&#8221; stipulation of the match ultimately cost Delilah&#8217;s team the victory. Although Rosemary&#8217;s involvement is unclear, this matchup threatens to be a show-stealer without her. The endlessly charismatic Delilah is a former Phoenix of RISE champion, and Su Yung has wrestled in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nRWqZWDo5AQ&amp;t=2s\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">some of Reality of Wrestling&#8217;s most dynamic matches<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Guardians of RISE Tag Team Championship: Paradise Lost vs. The Killer Death Machines<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_35465\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35465\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35465\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/01\/Dwj7kreWwAAYAYQ-e1547567320387.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-35465\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Paradise Lost is the harrowing team of <strong>Dust<\/strong> and <strong>Raven&#8217;s Ash<\/strong>. They are the inaugural Guardians of RISE Tag Team Champions, and have successfully defended the belts three times. Perhaps their biggest victory thus far was against the Twisted Sisters (Holidead and Thunder Rosa). The Killer Death Machines will present their biggest challenge to date. Twin powerhouses\u00a0<strong>Jessicka Havok<\/strong> and <strong>Nevaeh<\/strong> have been teaming together since 2014, at promotions such as <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong>, <strong>Queens of Combat<\/strong>, and <strong>Rockstar Pro Amped<\/strong>. Rosemary will once again be in Paradise Lost&#8217;s corner for <em>ROW on the RISE<\/em>, and she may prove to be the difference maker.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Phoenix of RISE Championship: Kylie Rae vs. Mercedes Martinez<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_35464\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35464\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35464\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/01\/Dw0MBGGX4AA-8Qi-e1547567339861.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-35464\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The crowd will almost certainly be firmly on the side of the challenger, Kylie Rae, during the final match. Kylie was ROW&#8217;s fastest rising star in 2017. A former ROW Diamonds championship holder, she has since taken the wrestling world by storm. Most recently, she defeated <strong>Kimber Lee<\/strong> for the <strong>AAW<\/strong> Women&#8217;s title in a main event barnburner. However, she has not had quite the success in RISE that she has had in other promotions. Home field advantage may spur her to take down Mercedes Martinez. One of the most respected wrestlers in North America, Mercedes has held many championships.
