Releasing January 22. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RealMikeBennett?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@RealMikeBennett<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MariaLKanellis?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@MariaLKanellis<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/gm1Yw92bZh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/t.co\/gm1Yw92bZh<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; #WWE2K25 (@WWEgames) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WWEgames\/status\/1083755622057762816?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">January 11, 2019<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The downloadable content characters include <strong>Maria <\/strong>and<strong> Mike Kanellis<\/strong>.\u00a0 The Kanellis&#8217; currently appear on <em><strong>205 Live<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 Mike Kanellis, formerly <strong>Mike Bennett<\/strong>, wrestled in <strong>Ring Of Honor<\/strong> and <strong>New Japan<\/strong> before a brief stint in <strong>IMPACT Wrestling<\/strong> which saw him win the X-Division title.\u00a0 Maria Kanellis worked in WWE from 2004-2010 before moving on to Ring Of Honor and New Japan.\u00a0 She then spent two years in IMPACT Wrestling before signing on for a second run with WWE.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ricochet<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Lio Rush<\/strong> also become playable characters with this DLC drop.\u00a0 Ricochet is the current NXT North American Champion in his first year with WWE.\u00a0 He previously had very successful runs with New Japan and <strong>Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG)<\/strong> which saw him wrestle in many highlight reel matches while winning the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Titles three times, the NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Titles three times and the PWG Heavyweight Championship.\u00a0 Lio Rush performs on <em>205 Live<\/em> but also appears with <strong>Bobby Lashley<\/strong> on <em><strong>Raw<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 He has previously appeared in Ring of Honor and <strong>Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW)<\/strong>, winning the CZW Heavyweight title one time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lacey Evans <\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0Dakota\u00a0Kai<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>are two of the female superstar additions to the game.\u00a0 Evans is a former Mae Young Classic competitor and was just recently called up to Raw but as of yet has not had her debut match.\u00a0 Dakota Kai is another former Mae Young Classic competitor and has also appeared with NXT and NXT:UK, including several unsuccessful Woman&#8217;s title\u00a0matches.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Candice LeRae<\/strong> is the final addition with this DLC content.\u00a0 The current NXT superstar spent ten years with PWG competing\u00a0in both women&#8217;s\u00a0and intergender competition.\u00a0 She would team with <strong>Joey Ryan<\/strong> to form the <strong>World&#8217;s Cutest Tag Team<\/strong>, winning the PWG tag team titles in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>With each superstar coming to the game with their own entrances and move sets, it also gives players the chance to team up with some real-life combinations, such as pairing Bobby Lashley with Lio Rush.\u00a0 Intergender matches are not allowed in the game but you can pair Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano together so they escort each other to the ring for their matches.<\/p>\n<p>The Rising Stars DLC content is available for download on January 22nd.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WWE released the first teaser for the Rising Stars DLC pack yesterday.\u00a0 It is one of the bigger DLC releases for the 2k series of games with seven playable superstars becoming available for download.
