{"id":35049,"date":"2019-01-11T18:06:01","date_gmt":"2019-01-11T23:06:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/?p=35049"},"modified":"2019-06-08T22:51:24","modified_gmt":"2019-06-09T02:51:24","slug":"wwe-looking-to-add-more-uk-women-to-nxt-uk-roster-kay-lee-ray","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2019\/01\/11\/wwe-looking-to-add-more-uk-women-to-nxt-uk-roster-kay-lee-ray\/","title":{"rendered":"WWE Looking To Add More UK Women to NXT UK Roster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hot on the heels of WWE announcing <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/01\/11\/nxt-uk-performance-centre-officially-confirmed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the opening of its first non-US based Performance Center in London, England<\/a> on Friday and reports that Scottish indie star <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2019\/01\/10\/uk-star-viper-reportedly-heading-to-wwe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Viper<\/strong> is most likely headed to the WWE<\/a> following the expiration of her <strong>World of Sport<\/strong> contract, it appears that the WWE has offered NXT UK deals to two other stars of the UK, <a href=\"http:\/\/squaredcirclesirens.com\/kay-lee-ray-bea-priestley-reportedly-offered-wwe-contracts\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">according to <strong>Square Circle Sirens<\/strong><\/a>. According to reports, Scottish superstar <strong>Kay Lee Ray<\/strong> and English star <strong>Bea Priestley<\/strong> (who also grew up in New Zealand) have both been approached with NXT UK deals.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35051\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/01\/DCrc4I3XoAEWCXS.0-e1547247860207.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><\/p>\n<p>Kay Lee Ray is no surprise. The veteran of the UK indie circuit made her NXT debut in 2015 in an enhancement role against <strong>Nia Jax<\/strong> and in 2017 was a part of the first <strong>Mae Young Classic<\/strong>. Despite losing in the first round to Mexico&#8217;s <strong>Princess Sugehit<\/strong>, WWE was high on the Glasgow star. The 26-year old Kay Lee Ray has been wrestling since 2009, and is the reigning 3x <strong>Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW)<\/strong> Women&#8217;s Champion and World of Sport Women&#8217;s Champion and is a former 3x Queen of <strong>Southside Wrestling Entertainment (SWE)<\/strong> Champion and <strong>Defiant<\/strong> Women&#8217;s Champion as well. She had a lengthy feud with <strong>Nixon Newell<\/strong> (now Tegan Nox in NXT), capturing the Defiant Women&#8217;s Championship on two separate occasions. Priestly went on to work with PROGRESS, Pro Wrestling EVE, and <strong>RevPr<\/strong>o, amongst others, and has worked extensively with Stardom for the past three years.
