While Hennigan didn&#8217;t win (he was the seventh contestant voted out, ninth to leave the island, and the second member of the jury), <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2018\/10\/24\/johnny-survivor-the-best-moments-of-john-hennigan-from-survivor-37-episode-four\/\" target=\"_self\">he did have some memorable moments along the way, including most notably alongside his fellow Brochachos, Dan Rengering\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2018\/10\/24\/johnny-survivor-the-best-moments-of-john-hennigan-from-survivor-37-episode-four\/\" target=\"_self\">and Christian Hubicki<\/a>. But ultimately, Hennigan was felled by a perfectly executed blindside that he really had no reason to even see coming. Ironically, it was a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2018\/11\/15\/the-tribe-has-spoken-john-hennigan-voted-off-survivor-37-in-shocking-fashion\/\" target=\"_self\">blindside that was made possible due to Nick Wilson and Davie Rickenbacker<\/a>, the two Survivor contestants who will be in Hennigan, or rather Impact&#8217;s corner, this Sunday at <em><strong>Homecoming<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPACT Wrestling<\/strong> released the following press release on Thursday afternoon:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center\"><p><strong>TORONTO | NASHVILLE<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Johnny Impact\u00a0is getting support from two former foes in his main event World Championship title match against \u201cThe Machine\u201d\u00a0Brian Cage\u00a0on Sunday, January 6, at IMPACT Wrestling\u2019s\u00a0Homecoming\u00a0pay-per-view event.<\/p>\n<p>Nick Wilson \u2013 the $1 million winner of Survivor: David vs. Goliath, the just-finished 37th season of the hit reality TV show \u2013 will be sitting in the front row at Homecoming, which will be held at the famed Asylum Arena at the Nashville Fairgrounds. Wilson is bringing 10 other loyal Impact fans and even fellow Survivor contestant Davie Rickenbacker.<\/p>\n<p>Wilson and Rickenbacker were aligned on the original David tribe, while Impact battled on the TV show as part of the Goliath tribe. Impact was the seventh voted off the island, on day 22, and the second member of the jury, which ultimately voted Wilson as the Sole Survivor and $1 million winner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited that Nick and Davie will be in my corner for the Homecoming pay-per-view match,\u201d said reigning World Champion Johnny Impact. \u201cAlthough I was rivals with both at the start of Survivor, we ultimately became good friends and I know each will have my back. Brian Cage won\u2019t be able to blindside me with Nick and Davie watching my back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Impact has dipped into the Survivor well for additional support in his Homecoming match. In his short IMPACT career, <strong>Brian Cage<\/strong> has a record of 23-3. Debuting in January, he wasn&#8217;t pinned for the first time until October, when alongside the <strong>Lucha Brothers<\/strong> (<strong>Pentagon<\/strong> and <strong>Fenix<\/strong>), he lost a triple threat <strong>oVe<\/strong>\u00a0Rules match to <strong>Dave and Jake Crist<\/strong> and <strong>Sami Callihan<\/strong>, the man who pinned him.<\/p>\n<p>While that record makes Cage seem like the unbeatable Machine he claims to be, it&#8217;s even more impressive when looking at his record in singles competition. In almost one full year with the company, Cage has wrestled 19 singles matches with a record of 18-1 and that loss came in a count out. While Nick and Davie&#8217;s role may be limited to shots of them cheering from the front row of the Asylum, they are still good backup to have. After all, those two Davids used their brains and sound strategy to take out first John, then Dan and finally Alec Merlino, three of the most goliathy\u00a0Goliaths. Davie finished in sixth and Nick went on to win Survivor, finishing above two more Goliaths in the final three.
