Indie Watch is our regular series that looks at all of the amazing talent working the independent circuits around the world. Some are veterans revitalizing their careers, some are indie prospects hitting their peaks, while others are names to be on the watch for! This edition looks at arguably the most popular tag team in Scottish wrestling today, “The Hardcore Hippie” Aspen Faith and “The Renegade” Lewis Girvan, The Kings of Catch.<\/em><\/p>\n

Aspen Faith<\/strong> and Lewis Girvan<\/strong> were born<\/em> to team together. They look alike, they wrestle alike, they dress alike. Up until 2016 though, they both led very different careers. Faith began his training at WrestleZone<\/strong>, a promotion based in Aberdeen, Scotland (debuting in January 2012), while Girvan began his training at Glasgow’s Source Wrestling School<\/strong> (debuting in July 2010). Their first singles match against each other came in May 2015 at a Source Wrestling Showcase event, a match won by Lewis. From this point forward, Big Damo<\/strong> (now WWE’s Killian Dain) practically begged for the two to team together.<\/p>\n

After wrestling each other a handful of other times, The Kings of Catch<\/strong> was officially formed in August 2016 when Aspen helped Lewis defeat the masked luchador Robbie Solar<\/strong>. In the months that followed, The KoC faced the likes of Polo Promotions<\/strong> (Jackie Polo and Mark Coffey), The Underdogs<\/strong> (Kieran Kelly and Scott McManus), and The New Nation<\/strong> (The Primate and Alexander Henry). After wrestling for a few promotions here and there, they finally found a place to call home in the form of Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW).<\/strong> It was here where they joined Stevie Boy<\/strong> and Kay Lee Ray<\/strong> as part of The Filthy Generation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
