{"id":3310,"date":"2017-03-25T12:51:51","date_gmt":"2017-03-25T16:51:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/?p=3310"},"modified":"2022-02-02T17:23:29","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T22:23:29","slug":"preview-smash-wrestling-show-us-got-32617","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2017\/03\/25\/preview-smash-wrestling-show-us-got-32617\/","title":{"rendered":"Preview: Smash Wrestling &#8216;Show Us What You Got!&#8221; (3\/26\/17)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This Sunday, Toronto&#8217;s indie sensation Smash Wrestling takes the show on the road with a special live event in London, Ontario at the London Music Hall for\u00a0<em><strong>Show Us What You Got!<\/strong><\/em>, which will be available for viewing within the week on their on-demand service,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ondemand.smash-wrestling.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smash On Demand<\/a>. Much like other promotions like PWG and AAW, Smash&#8217;s live events are not available as a live PPV, but instead are part of their streaming archive services.<\/p>\n<p>For those who aren&#8217;t aware, Smash Wrestling has loudly and proudly become one of Canada&#8217;s premiere indie promotions in their five year history. While some have started labelling them &#8216;PWG North&#8217; due to the amazing flux of many top indie stars (many of whom are PWG regulars), the comparison is a tad unfair. While they do employ many national (and international) indie regulars, both as guests and regular performers, they also utilize a strong contingent of some of Canada&#8217;s emerging or breakout indie performers as well. If you&#8217;re ever in the Toronto area, be sure to look them up! He&#8217;s battled some of the top wrestlers in the world in the past year, including rematches with Zack Sabre Jr. and Cody Rhodes, on his way to capturing the Smash Championship late last year (and becoming the first Canadian to do so). He&#8217;s been a fighting champion ever since. He&#8217;s got a huge title defence in April at Smash Wrestling&#8217;s\u00a0<em><strong>New Girl In Town\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>event against UK icon\u00a0<strong>Jimmy Havoc<\/strong>, but first he&#8217;s got a triple threat against two other Ontario indie grapplers. <strong>Cody Deaner<\/strong> is the most recognizable, as he had a fun stint with Impact Wrestling a few years back. He&#8217;s also the current <strong>Border City Wrestling<\/strong> Champion just up the road in Windsor, Ontario, where he&#8217;s got history with Tyson Dux, as both friend and foe. <strong>Tyler Tirva<\/strong> may not be as recognizable as either Dux or Deaner, but he&#8217;s been a star in the Canadian indies since his debut in 2008.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3312\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/16864468_792019860949568_3407665843050836770_n.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/16864468_792019860949568_3407665843050836770_n.png 480w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/16864468_792019860949568_3407665843050836770_n-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Braxton Sutter vs. Davey Richards<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>A battle of two members of the current <strong>Impact Wrestling<\/strong> roster, <strong>Braxton Sutter<\/strong> actually calls Smash Wrestling his home north of the border, and has for years. He&#8217;s one half of the tag team <strong>The Well Oiled Machines<\/strong> with <strong>&#8216;Psycho&#8217; Mike Rollins<\/strong>, but after January&#8217;s singles match against <strong>Sami Callihan<\/strong> at\u00a0<em><strong>Any Given Saturday 5<\/strong><\/em>, Sutter has decided to try and steal the show again on his own, this time against former ROH World Champion <strong>Davey Richards<\/strong> (of <strong>American Wolves<\/strong>), who will have his wife (and Impact Knockout)\u00a0<strong>Angelina Love <\/strong>with him. O&#8217;Shea is a regular not only in Smash, but with another top Ontario indie, <strong>Alpha-1<\/strong> (<strong>Ethan Page<\/strong>&#8216;s promotion). The Hacker isn&#8217;t shy about getting mean and nasty (he fought <strong>CZW<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>DJ Hyde<\/strong> last year when CZW invaded Smash), so the normally comedic Cabana may be in for a tougher fight than normal. She continues to return to spread her brand of Decay, and this time it&#8217;s against <strong>KC Spinelli<\/strong>, another Canadian woman who&#8217;s making waves internationally, with <strong>SHIMMER, AAA, WSU<\/strong> as well as here in Canada with <strong>ECCW<\/strong> and others. It&#8217;s actually a battle of the tag team partners, as Rosemary is a frequent tag partner of Spinelli in the tag team <strong>The Danger Zone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3318\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/16473274_783072575177630_5120659214207002391_n.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/16473274_783072575177630_5120659214207002391_n.png 480w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/16473274_783072575177630_5120659214207002391_n-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Dillon Andrews vs. Sebastian Suave<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Sebastian Suave<\/strong> is another Canadian grappler making waves in the Canadian indie scene. Managed by the scrupulous <strong>James Kingdom<\/strong>, who&#8217;s always on the look out for corporate sponsorship to drive every waking moment of Suave&#8217;s current career, Suave has been more than a staple for Canadian promotions. He tagged with fellow Smash Wrestling star <strong>Brent Banks<\/strong> as part of <strong>The Northern Fight Club<\/strong> in CZW&#8217;s <em><strong>Cinco De Mayo<\/strong><\/em> event in 2012 and he was the opening dark match for ROH&#8217;s <em><strong>Death Before Dishonor<\/strong><\/em> in Toronto a few years back. He&#8217;s facing London&#8217;s homegrown <strong>Dillon Andrews<\/strong> in a match of the hometown hero vs the Super Sponsor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3313\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/17190803_798460903638797_7198729057231121453_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/17190803_798460903638797_7198729057231121453_n.jpg 480w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2017\/03\/17190803_798460903638797_7198729057231121453_n-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Kevin Bennett Experience vs. John Greed &amp; Space Monkey<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Kevin Bennett<\/strong> is the undisputed megaheel of Smash Wrestling (the fans regularly chant &#8220;F*ck you, Bennett!&#8221; till they&#8217;re hoarse every time he&#8217;s near the ring) and he&#8217;s bringing his entourage (Big Tank and Muscles) for tag team action. Bennett, a product of Buffalo, NY, is also a regular with <strong>Empire State Wrestling<\/strong> in New York and Pennsylvania&#8217;s <strong>Pro Wrestling Rampage<\/strong>. They&#8217;re taking on the monster <strong>John Greed<\/strong>, one of the most underrated big men in indie wrestling, who&#8217;s bringing in a very special tag team partner &#8211; the absolute indie sensation known as <strong>Space Monkey<\/strong>.
