Seattle, Washington’s DEFY Wrestling<\/strong> has emerged as leading indie promotion in the US Pacific Northwest, combining top national and international stars with West Coast (and PNW) talent. On Saturday, they make their second appearance in Portland, Oregon and first since this past May’s DEFY New Legacy<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

“The Devil” Drexl vs. Tommy Dreamer<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A regular with Portland’s own Don’t Own Anyone (DOA) Pro Wrestling<\/strong> and a staple of the Pacific Northwest who also competes for DEFY and Canada’s Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW)<\/strong>, “The Devil” Drexl<\/strong> is a terror of the North. But the 11-year pro will be in for a taste of his own medicine when he faces “The Innovator of Violence”, former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Tommy Dreamer<\/strong>. Drexl is usually accompanied by his partner Dr. Kliever<\/strong> and they’re usually in the hunt for the DEFY Tag Team titles, but on Saturday, Drexl will be going it alone in hopes of taking down a hardcore icon.<\/p>\n

King Khash vs. Matt Cross<\/strong><\/h3>\n

King Khash<\/strong> is emerging as one of the bright new stars out of the Pacific Northwest<\/a>, as one of the faces of DEFY, as well as in Portland and British Columbia. Hes only been working since 2015, but he’s already staking his claim on the West Coast. He’s facing one of the veterans of the US indie scene (as well as internationally) in “Mad Dogg” Matt Cross<\/strong>, who has found success in Lucha Underground<\/strong> (as Son of Havoc<\/strong>) as well as around the world, with the likes of House of Hardcore, Smash Wrestling, Bar Wrestling<\/strong>, and just about any noteworthy indie promotion in North America and Europe. This’ll be a big test for Khash.<\/p>\n

Willie Mack vs. SCHAFF<\/strong><\/h3>\n

It’s been the year of The Mack, as Willie Mack<\/strong> has had a huge 2018 so far. A breakout star with Lucha Underground from its earliest season, this year has seen Mack capture the House of Hardcore Television Champion, Crash Lucha<\/strong> Heavyweight Championship and NWA National Heavyweight Championship, as well as make his IMPACT Wrestling<\/strong> debut. The Mack makes his DEFY debut by facing one of the monsters of the Northwest in DEFY’s own SCHAFF<\/strong><\/a>. SCHAFF is coming off two big matches, against Shane Strickland<\/strong> for the DEFY Championship and against WALTER<\/strong> for the PROGRESS<\/strong> Championship (when DEFY hosted PROGRESS) and he’ll be looking to get back on track with a win over The Mack.<\/p>\n

DEFY Tag Team Championship: Amerikan Gunz (Ethan HD & Mike Santiago) (c) vs. LAX (Santana & Ortiz)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions LAX (<\/strong>Santana & Ortiz) have had an explosive past year becoming one of the elite tag teams in the world. Apart from defining feuds against OvE<\/strong> (Dave & Jake Crist) and The OGz<\/strong> (Hernandez & Homicide) on IMPACT, they’ve also thrilled in matches against the likes of The Young Bucks, The Rascalz<\/strong> (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz), Ringkampf<\/strong> (WALTER & Timothy Thatcher), Grizzled Young Vets<\/strong> (Zack Gibson & James Drake) and much more. They’re making their DEFY debut on Saturday in Portland taking on the DEFY Tag Team Champions Amerikan Gunz<\/strong>, but don’t sleep on the Gunz. The Guns have stood toe to toe against Moustache Mountain<\/strong> (Trent Seven & Tyler Bate) and The Lucha Brothers<\/strong> (Pentagon Jr. & Fenix) and defended their belts last month against Bandido & Flamita<\/strong>. This should be a great tag team battle between two worthy champions.<\/p>\n

DEFY World Championship: Shane Strickland (c) vs. Randy Myers<\/strong><\/h3>\n

DEFY World Champion Shane Strickland<\/strong> is in his second reign as DEFY Champion and has already fought back challenges from Brian Cage<\/strong> and SCHAFF<\/strong> so far. One of the most exciting indie stars of the past year, Strickland has been on fire everywhere he’s wrestled, including EVOLVE<\/strong> and Major League Wrestling (MLW),<\/strong> as well as his run with Lucha Underground as Killshot<\/strong>. His opponent is Calgary, Alberta, Canada’s “Ravenous” Randy Myers<\/strong>, a former Stampede Wrestling<\/strong> star who has also worked for ECCW, where he’s a former ECCW Champion. The Wild Man of DEFY has already faced wars against the likes of Tommy Dreamer, Jimmy Havoc, Joey Janela<\/strong>, and MJF<\/strong>, and now he’s set his sights on DEFY’s top title.<\/p>\n

While no match has been announced for them, DEFY also announced that The One Percent<\/strong> (Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs) will be making their debut with the company in Portland. The duo has made waves recently with the rebooted Ring Warriors<\/strong> show on WGN.<\/p>\n
