SHIMMER<\/strong>, the leading indie women’s promotion based out of the Chicago, Illinois area, announced today the launch of STREAM SHIMMER, a new streaming network that will house the entire SHIMMER back catalog of events. Upon today’s launch, the first 61 SHIMMER events have been uploaded (covering SHIMMER 1<\/strong> <\/em>from 2005 through SHIMMER 61<\/strong> <\/em>at the end of 2013).<\/p>\n

Formed in 2005 by former IWA Mid South<\/strong> and Ring of Honor<\/strong> commentator Dave Prazak<\/strong> alongside former ROH wrestler Alison Danger<\/strong>, SHIMMER has become one of the most integral promotions in the women’s revolution of pro wrestling in the last two decades<\/a>, as a learning ground for emerging stars and a platform for the best women’s wrestlers to continue to thrive and hone their craft. WWE Superstars Bayley<\/strong> (Davina Rose), Ember Moon<\/strong> (Athena), Natalya<\/strong>, Ruby Riott<\/strong> (Heidi Lovelace), Sarah Logan<\/strong> (Crazy Mary Dobson), Asuka<\/strong> (Kana), Billie Kay<\/strong> (Jessie McKay), Peyton Royce<\/strong> (KC Cassidy), Candice LeRae, Dakota Kai<\/strong> (Evie), Nikki Cross<\/strong> (Nikki Storm), and Shayna Baszler<\/strong> have all gone through SHIMMER at some point in their careers prior to signing with WWE. Many of the top women in today’s indie scene are also SHIMMER regulars, such as Tessa Blanchard, Rosemary, Chelsea Green, LuFisto<\/a>, Saraya Knight, Mercedes Martinez, Su Yung<\/strong>, and Keira Hogan<\/strong>. The current SHIMMER Champion is former Mae Young Classic competitor Nicole Savoy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Since 2005, SHIMMER Women Athletes has presented the very best in women\u2019s professional wrestling, for American wrestling fans to witness live, and worldwide for followers of the DVD series.
