Names like <strong>Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, Eric Young<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2018\/09\/18\/is-aj-styles-the-next-inductee-for-the-impact-hall-of-fame\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">even <strong>AJ Styles<\/strong><\/a> were lobbied around, but ultimately it was revealed tonight that the next inductee is a man who has spent the bulk of his entire career with <strong>Total Nonstop Action (TNA)<\/strong>\/IMPACT Wrestling &#8211; &#8220;The Monster&#8221; <strong>Abyss<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26369\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26369\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26369\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/5954216_orig-1488570936-800-e1537492043711.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26369\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: IMPACT Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The last true TNA Original, Abyss has been with IMPACT Wrestling since the company was founded in 2002. Already an emerging indie star from the late 90s as <strong>Prince Justice<\/strong>, he debuted on the very first TNA Pay-Per-View in the Gauntlet for the Gold, where he appeared under the name <strong>Justice<\/strong>. But by his next appearance, in singles action against <strong>Julio DeNiro<\/strong>, he became the &#8220;monster&#8221; that TNA\/IMPACT fans have come to love and hate, Abyss.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26371\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26371\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26371\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/abyss1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/abyss1.jpg 330w, https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/abyss1-261x300.jpg 261w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 330px) 100vw, 330px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26371\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: IMPACT Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>At <strong>TNA Genesis &#8217;06<\/strong>, Abyss would defeat <strong>Sting<\/strong> to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship (when TNA&#8217;s titles were all NWA titles) and would go on to become an IMPACT Grand Slam Champion when he added the TNA X-Division Championship, TNA Television Championship and TNA World Tag Team titles to his trophy case. A violent competitor, Abyss encompassed the dark and macabre, often employing former ECW Superstar <strong>Father James Mitchell<\/strong> as his manager, as well as having a barbaric fascination for violence &#8211; he&#8217;s competed in multiple Monster&#8217;s Ball matches, against the likes of <strong>Sabu<\/strong> and <strong>Judas Mesias<\/strong> (now <strong>Mil Muertes<\/strong> in <strong>Lucha Underground<\/strong>). In 2016, he won his second tag team titles as a part of the popular trio <strong>Decay<\/strong>, alongside <strong>Crazzy Steve<\/strong> and <strong>Rosemary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26372\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26372\" style=\"width: 346px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26372\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/09\/66bce83e8f043acb95158c2ac3e69e81-e1537492095186.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"346\" height=\"500\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26372\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: IMPACT Wrestling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Although as Abyss he continues to work the indie circuit around North America, his last appearance on IMPACT Wrestling was in another Monster&#8217;s Ball match, when he was defeated by<strong> Kongo Kong<\/strong> back in March.
