He first competed under the name <strong>Cameron Locke<\/strong>, a name that didn&#8217;t carry much in the way of excitement or enthusiasm. The only thing that was a &#8216;lock&#8217; was that &#8216;The One and Only&#8217; was on an upward trajectory. During that same year, his athleticism was mirrored by the new name he adopted, <strong>Ricochet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24776\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/08\/Ricochet-e1535240701909.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"401\" height=\"600\"><\/p>\n<p>It was in a five-way battle, also involving his trainer <strong>Chuck Taylor<\/strong>, that Ricochet had his coming out party. <span class=\"ver\" title=\"If the last word is a verb, it should be in the singular, e.g.: &lt;i&gt;This idea seem&lt;b&gt;s&lt;\/b&gt; reasonable&lt;\/i&gt;.\">This took place<\/span> while he was competing for <strong>Insanity Pro Wrestling<\/strong> in 2006. Ricochet won the match by pinning Taylor. It was later that year that Ricochet first performed a double rotation <span class=\"spellmod\" title=\"consult, moonlit, insult, mainsail, Monsanto, mainsails, consulate, onslaught, mainsail's, moonlight, monster, mansard\">moonsault<\/span>, from the top of a ladder onto eight other competitors in <span class=\"ver\" title=\"If you are using a possessive, then the apostrophe should probably come before the \u201cs\u201d, e.g.: &lt;i&gt;The girl&lt;b&gt;'s&lt;\/b&gt; book&lt;\/i&gt;. That year he competed for <strong>CHIKARA<\/strong> in their <strong>Young Lions<\/strong> tournament. While he did lose in the opening round, it was the opportunity to be a part of it that meant the most. Once again his career was tied <span class=\"ver\" title=\"\">to Chuck<\/span> Taylor, as it was his former trainer that defeated him in that opening round match up. Some time later. Ricochet would face Taylor once again in <span class=\"ver\" title=\"If you are using a possessive, then the apostrophe should probably come before the \u201cs\u201d, e.g.: &lt;i&gt;The girl&lt;b&gt;'s&lt;\/b&gt; book&lt;\/i&gt;. However, his &#8216;retirement&#8217; was short-lived as, in grand wrestling tradition, he returned under a mask. He went under the moniker <strong>Helios<\/strong>, and while using that name he teamed with other rather unique characters, such as Ring of Honor&#8217;s current <span class=\"ver\" title=\"If this is a name, it should begin with a capital letter, e.g.: &lt;i&gt;&lt;b&gt;S&lt;\/b&gt;t\u00e9fan&lt;\/i&gt;.\">booker<\/span> <strong>Delirious<\/strong>. You might also consider using an adjective, e.g.: &lt;i&gt;American&lt;\/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;British&lt;\/i&gt;.\">USA<\/span><\/strong> and <strong>EVOLVE<\/strong> promotions, Ricochet&#8217;s name grew along with the quality of his matches. He faced opponents who have gone on to be among the most notable names in wrestling, such as <strong>Johnny Gargano, Drake Younger, AR Fox<\/strong> and <strong>Kyle O&#8217;Reilly<\/strong>. Once the two promotions merged, Ricochet was used in a number of tag team championship matches that involved the likes of <strong>Rich Swann, Masato Yoshino<\/strong>, and <strong>CIMA<\/strong>. If he wasn&#8217;t busy enough there, Ricochet also competed for the <strong>Pro Wrestling Guerilla (PWG)\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong>New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW)<\/strong>. In the Wrestling Observer newsletter, his match in 2016 when he teamed with <strong>Matt Sydal<\/strong> and <strong>Will Ospreay<\/strong> against <strong>Adam Cole<\/strong> <span class=\"ver\" title=\"This word should not be capitalized unless it is a name or part of a title.\">and <strong>The<\/strong><\/span><strong> Young Bucks<\/strong> received a five-star rating. (More recently, he participated in a second five-star match, the ladder match at <em><strong>NXT Takeover: New Orleans<\/strong><\/em> that crowned the inaugural NXT North American championship.) He has been voted the best flying wrestler in 2011, 2014, and 2015, and voted to have the best wrestling maneuver in both 2010 and 2011.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24774\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24774\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-24774\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/08\/ricochet-photo-u3-e1535240745788.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"399\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24774\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: El Rey Network \/ Lucha Underground<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It appeared as though things had exploded for him, and in fact they got even busier as he joined the <strong>Lucha Underground<\/strong> program. Much like when he was in CHIKARA, he wore a mask, this time competing under the name <strong>Prince Puma<\/strong>. He appeared for that program during their first three seasons, and was their first champion. Though he did not re-sign with the company for the company for their fourth season, he contractually couldn&#8217;t appear for another promotion until the third season had aired in its entirety. Due to the delay between taping the program and airing the episodes, it would be sixteen months before Ricochet could join any major company in the United States. When the opportunity arose, however, Ricochet signed with WWE in January of this past year. The fifteen-year journey had finally come to this.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24775\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24775\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-24775\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/08\/ricochet-rey-mysterio-xwa-providence-diary_0-e1535240829372.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"334\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24775\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: Sports Illustrated<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It was impossible to ignore his impact and what he could <span class=\"ver\" title=\"You should probably use the bare form of the verb here, e.g.: &lt;i&gt;It can &lt;b&gt;change&lt;\/b&gt; your life&lt;\/i&gt;. Another possibility would be to add &lt;i&gt;be&lt;\/i&gt; or &lt;i&gt;have&lt;\/i&gt;, e.g.: &lt;i&gt;The soup should &lt;b&gt;be&lt;\/b&gt; done&lt;\/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;You should never &lt;b&gt;have&lt;\/b&gt; given away the secret&lt;\/i&gt;.\">do when given<\/span> the opportunity. He will be thirty years old this October, and to think that he has been practicing his craft since the age of 14 is remarkable. His first major feud as part of the WWE&#8217;s NXT brand was against another young talent in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2018\/08\/15\/patrick-clark-velveteen-dream\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Velveteen Dream<\/a><\/strong>. He faced him in a match that had a great build and was well received by the fans. It resembled something akin to <strong>Hulk Hogan<\/strong> <span class=\"ver\" title=\"\">facing <strong>The<\/strong><\/span><strong> Rock<\/strong>, with the difference being this could be a prelude to these men facing each other for a prominent championship later on in their careers.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ricochet makes a stunning leap over the top rope to topple Velveteen Dream: NXT TakeOver: Chicago II\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IVgD9XpUl-Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After achieving championships and accolades all over the world<span class=\"ver\" title=\"\">, some may have<\/span> thought that Ricochet had peaked, but that couldn&#8217;t be further from the truth. At this point in his career, he appears to just be hitting his stride. With the incredible athletic ability he is able to demonstrate, one can only imagine what <span class=\"ver\" title=\"You probably need to add a determiner (e.g.: &lt;i&gt;a&lt;\/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;my&lt;\/i&gt;, &lt;i&gt;the&lt;\/i&gt;, etc.) after the verb, e.g.: &lt;i&gt;This is &lt;b&gt;my&lt;\/b&gt; opinion&lt;\/i&gt;.\">is in store<\/span> for him moving forward with his career.
