Apart from their own highly decorated coaching and training staff &#8211; including head trainers <strong>Matt Bloom<\/strong> and <strong>Sara Del Rey<\/strong>, as well as <strong>Norman Smiley, Shawn Michaels, Serena Deeb, Steve Corino, Robbie Brookside<\/strong> and others &#8211; the WWE Performance Center has routinely brought in guest trainers for special seminars, including the likes of <strong>CHIKARA<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Mike Quackenbush<\/strong>, former <strong>Ring of Honor<\/strong> manager <strong>Truth Martini<\/strong>, former 4x IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion<strong> Minoru Tanaka<\/strong>, former ECW World Champion <strong>Jerry Lynn<\/strong>, and most recently, <strong>The Outsiders<\/strong> (<strong>Scott Hall &amp; Kevin Nash<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/LanceStorm\/status\/1029494599427997696<\/p>\n<p>Lance Storm is a graduate of the <strong>Hart Brothers Wrestling Camp<\/strong> in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where he got his start with fellow WWE alumn <strong>Chris Jericho<\/strong> in 1990. He spent his early days with <strong>West Four Wrestling Alliance (WFWA)<\/strong> in Winnipeg, the Hart&#8217;s <strong>Stampede Wrestling<\/strong>, and <strong>Canadian Rocky Mountain Wrestling (CRMW)<\/strong>, as well as excursions to Japan with <strong>Wrestling Association &#8220;R&#8221; (WAR)<\/strong> and <strong>Otto Wanz<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Catch Wrestling Association (CWA)<\/strong> based out of Austria, before returning to North America with <strong>Smokey Mountain Wrestling (SMW)<\/strong>. His early years saw him paired with Chris Jericho in the tag team, <strong>The Thrillseekers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-24089\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/08\/DgAuw1qVQAAPboT-e1534385219307.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"391\"><\/p>\n<p>In 1997, he joined <strong>Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW)<\/strong>, where he became a 3x ECW World Tag Team Champion, once with Chris <strong>Candido<\/strong>, and more famously as part of the <strong>Impact Players<\/strong> with <strong>Justin Credible<\/strong>. In 2000, Storm moved on to <strong>World Championship Wrestling (WCW)<\/strong>, where he formed a Team Canada (prior to Impact Wrestling&#8217;s version), that included fellow Canadian <strong>PCO<\/strong>, as well as &#8220;converted&#8221; Americans like <strong>&#8220;Hacksaw&#8221; Jim Duggan, Mike Awesome<\/strong> and <strong>Elix Skipper<\/strong>. During his time with WCW, Lance Storm won (and renamed) the WCW Cruiserweight Championship (renamed to the WCW 100kg Championship in honor of Canada using the metric system), WCW Hardcore Champion (renamed the\u00a0Saskatchewan\u00a0Hardcore International\u00a0Title &#8211; or S.H.I.T.), and was a 3x WCW United States (renamed Canadian) Champion.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24087\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24087\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-24087\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/08\/19_WWE-Encyclopedia3515-e1534385200554.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24087\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Following the demise of WCW, the WCW Invasion angle debuted with the first attack launched by Lance Storm on May 28, 2001, when he made a surprise run-in during a match between WWF Superstars <strong>Steve Blackman<\/strong> and <strong>Perry Saturn<\/strong> on <em><strong>Monday Night Raw<\/strong><\/em>, officially launching the WCW Invasion of WWE, in his home of Calgary, Alberta.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Lance Storm debut in WWF\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HIReklrm8CU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Lance Storm only remained with the WWE for a few years, retiring from in-ring action in 2004, but in his three brief years with the company, he captured the Intercontinental Championship and was a 3x WWE Tag Team Champion. Upon his retirement, he assumed a trainer role with WWE&#8217;s then developmental territory, <strong>Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW)<\/strong>. He came out of retirement in 2005, for his final WWE match against former partner Chris Jericho for the <em><strong>ECW One Night Stand<\/strong><\/em> PPV. He would resign from the WWE that year and return to Calgary to open his own wrestling school, the <a href=\"http:\/\/academy.stormwrestling.com\/index1.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Storm Wrestling Academy<\/strong><\/a>, which he continues to operate to this day.\u00a0While he&#8217;s effectively retired from in-ring competition, he has returned to the ring for various one off appearances.
