The cinematically shot newcomer to the UK Wrestling scene\u00a0Riptide Wrestling <\/strong>are set to crown their first ever Brighton Champion.\u00a0 This tournament features some Riptide regulars and a few big names.<\/p>\n

Before setting off for her tour of\u00a0Stardom,\u00a0<\/strong>the colourful youngster won her spot in this tournament by winning a six-way scramble back in February.\u00a0 Candyfloss is a Riptide regular and faces\u00a0Cara Noir\u00a0<\/strong>in the first round of the tournament.\u00a0 The young prospect has had a monumental 2018 competing all over the UK and of course, touring the best women’s wrestling promotion in the world, will she add the first ever Brighton Champion to her trophy cabinet?<\/p>\n

Cara Noir<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the most interesting characters in the UK right now Cara Noir, formerly Tom Dawkins, is certainly\u00a0unique.\u00a0 Making his entrance with his big black cape and his face painted, he is a theatrical figure who fits Riptide Wrestling and their cinematic camera style like a glove. Beyond being an interesting character, he is a former 2 time\u00a0XWA British Heavyweight Champion\u00a0<\/strong>and current\u00a0LCW Champion<\/strong>.\u00a0 Noir has only one win in Riptide so far and that was in an 8 man elimination match to qualify for the tournament.\u00a0 He will need to bring his best to defeat the much more successful Candyfloss<\/p>\n

Spike Trivet<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Trivet is arguably the number one heel in Riptide who has made zero effort to make the fans like him, instead acting like he is above everyone.\u00a0 As the leader of Money vs. Everything<\/strong>, he has been the type of smarmy heel that gets under everyone’s skin.\u00a0 Unfortunately, Trivet can definitely\u00a0back up his attitude in the ring.\u00a0 Trivet has to go in as the favourite with the potential of interference from his cronies<\/p>\n

Jonah Rock<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Jonah is currently 2-0 in Riptide Wrestling and as such a huge star was granted entry into the tournament to crown the first champion.\u00a0\u00a0Member of\u00a0The Mighty Dont\u00a0Kneel\u00a0<\/strong>and holder of three top titles in Australia, Rock should be an easy favourite.\u00a0 Should, but he isn’t because in the first round he faces…<\/p>\n

WALTER<\/strong><\/h3>\n

WALTER\u00a0qualified by defeating\u00a0Wild Boar\u00a0<\/strong>in his debut match for Riptide in a qualifier.\u00a0 In his second appearance he defeated\u00a0Dramatic Dream Team\u00a0<\/strong>regular “Speedball”<\/strong>\u00a0Mike Bailey\u00a0<\/strong>in a match that Riptide briefly had up for free viewing.\u00a0 WALTER faces Jonah Rock in the first round in the battle of two of the biggest hosses in the tournament.\u00a0 In a year where WALTER is set to take over independent wrestling, there would be no surprise\u00a0if he wins this one.<\/p>\n

Damon Moser<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Member of Money Vs. Everything, Moser qualified by winning a tag match with\u00a0Chris Ridgeway\u00a0<\/strong>against\u00a0Toni Storm\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Bea Priestley.<\/strong>\u00a0 Another of the tournament’s top heels and someone\u00a0that has been looking for that breakout moment for years.\u00a0 If Moser is to make winning this tournament a reality, he has an uphill struggle with a potential semi-final\u00a0clash with Trivet and a second-round bout against either Rock or WALTER.<\/p>\n

Mark Davis<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Member of\u00a0Aussie Open\u00a0<\/strong>alongside\u00a0Kyle<\/strong> Fletcher<\/strong>, Davis\u00a0qualified by winning a stacked three-way tag match featuring\u00a0Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven)\u00a0<\/strong>and South Pacific Power Trip (TK Cooper & Travis<\/strong> Banks)<\/strong>. He\u00a0has only featured in tag action for Riptide so far and makes his singles debut (but of course, Dunkzilla has singles prowess being the current\u00a0winner of the\u00a0Natural Progression Series\u00a0<\/strong>in PROGRESS).<\/p>\n

David Starr<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Is currently 1-2 in Riptide Wrestling, but what tournament in European wrestling is complete without The Product?\u00a0 The man of too many nicknames to mention has made Europe a second home, being a regular in\u00a0Westside Xtreme Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>for years and being a regular import for\u00a0Over The Top (OTT) Wrestling\u00a0<\/strong>and PROGRESS.<\/p>\n

Charlie Morgan<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Morgan is another Riptide star having a breakout year.\u00a0 As the fearless “Ace of EVE” she main evented the biggest women’s wrestling show in the European history.\u00a0 She also made her\u00a0WWE <\/strong>debut\u00a0on the recent UK tournament shows.\u00a0 Is currently 2-0 in Riptide and will certainly like to add another title to her growing list of achievements.<\/p>\n

Chris Ridgeway<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hard As F**k has never been personified in the UK as well as it is by Chris Ridgeway.\u00a0 The shooter style fighter has made a big impression this year and is finally getting the recognition he deserves after an awesome match against\u00a0Timothy Thatcher\u00a0<\/strong>for IPW: UK<\/strong> and against\u00a0NOAH\u00a0<\/strong>star\u00a0Kenoh<\/strong> for\u00a0Frontline<\/strong>.\u00a0 Another member of Money Versus Everything who is a firm favourite to do well.<\/p>\n

Millie McKenzie<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Has only ever picked up one win in Riptide but it was in a qualifier.\u00a0 McKenzie, fresh off her NXT UK debut, would be picking up her first piece of singles gold with a win in the tournament but has a tough path to get there facing Ridgeway in the first round.<\/p>\n

Chuck Mambo<\/strong><\/h3>\n

No one has wrestled for Riptide Wrestling more than Chuck Mambo.\u00a0 His record of 7-2 is one of the most impressive in the company, as he qualified by winning the Riptide Rumble and then defended his spot against\u00a0Eddie Dennis<\/strong>.\u00a0 Mambo will be the fan favourite to win the tournament with his fun-loving personality endearing him to the Riptide fans.<\/p>\n

Angelico<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Making his Riptide debut is the former\u00a0Lucha Underground\u00a0<\/strong>star.\u00a0 The athletic, lanky South African has moved to Spain and become a regular in the UK scene.\u00a0 While fans love to rave to his entrance theme (BANGARANG), he doesn’t win much and I doubt much will change here.<\/p>\n

Jordan Devlin<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Is 1-0 in Riptide, having beaten\u00a0Jack Sexsmith\u00a0<\/strong>to qualify for the tournament.\u00a0 Devlin is OTT champion and a member of the NXT UK roster and has been killing it for the last year.\u00a0 A newer face to Riptide but one that may stick around.\u00a0 He may not win but he will tear the house down until he’s out.<\/p>\n

Kyle Fletcher<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The other member of Aussie Open and a real prodigy.\u00a0 His matchup with Devlin in the first round is the stuff of dreams, as Fletcher’s style will play very well off Devlin.\u00a0 While he hasn’t achieved the singles success that Davis has, Fletcher is a great wrestler in his own right.\u00a0 Like his partner, is making his singles debut for Riptide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
