WWE announced another four competitors<\/a> for the 2018 Mae Young Classic today, with an international presence and continuing with some highly touted indie stars. Today’s announcement features luchadora Zeuxis<\/strong>, former Crash<\/strong> Women’s Champion Lacey Lane<\/strong>, Scottish star Isla Dawn<\/strong> and Ring of Honor\/Women of Honor<\/strong> star Karen Q<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

ZEUXIS, Puerto Rico<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We first reported on Zeuxis this past May<\/a> when she left CMLL, and it looks like our prediction was true – the former Mexican National Women’s Champion is now entered into this year’s Mae Young Classic. Per WWE, she is “a proponent of \u201cLucha Strong Style,” and “enters this year\u2019s field with a decade of ring experience and more than 800 matches under her belt. Calling herself \u201cPuerto Rican Power,\u201d Zeuxis boasts a combination of strength and speed, and has frequently ended matches with a top-rope Spanish Fly. She is a multi-time champion in Mexico and Japan, and last September she collected perhaps her most important accolade yet, defeating Princesa Sugehit<\/strong> (a competitor from last year\u2019s Mae Young Classic) in a Mask vs. Mask Match.”<\/p>\n

Lacey Lane just recently lost her Crash Lucha Libre Women’s title to Tessa Blanchard<\/strong>, before being announced as a recent signing to the WWE Performance Center, and like fellow signee Deonna Purrazzo<\/strong>, she’s getting thrown into the mix early. “The newly signed WWE Performance Center recruit was a member the 2012 NCAA Division II championship basketball team at Shaw University,” WWE said, “where she graduated magna cum laude. Deciding to give wrestling a try, Lane studied the mat game under WWE Hall of Famers The Dudley Boyz<\/strong>. Before joining the WWE PC, Lane made waves on the independent scene in both the U.S. and Mexico.”<\/p>\n
