The inaugural tournament was won by wrestling veteran <strong>Christopher Daniels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/twitter.com\/dragon_leecmll\/status\/1015486047180984320<\/p>\n<p>In 2001, the tournament had a plethora of wrestlers and was easily one of the earliest super indie tournaments. It featured wrestlers that would later be part of <strong>Ring of Honor<\/strong>&#8216;s first show, with superstars like <strong>Low Ki<\/strong>, <strong>Doug Williams<\/strong>, <strong>Samoa Joe<\/strong>, WWE Champion<strong> AJ Styles<\/strong> and the tournament winner that year, the GOAT himself, <strong>Daniel Bryan<\/strong> &#8211; Bryan Danielson in those times.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, in a show co-promoted by APW and <strong>Pro Wrestling Revolution<\/strong>, Dragon Lee beat <strong>ROH<\/strong> star and <em><strong>Being The Elite<\/strong><\/em> regular <strong>Flip Gordon<\/strong> in the finals of the tournament.\u00a0The tournament participants last night were Dragon Lee, Flip Gordon, <strong>Jeff Cobb<\/strong>, <strong>Titan<\/strong>, <strong>Jacob Fatu<\/strong>, <strong>Brody King<\/strong>, <strong>Timothy Thatcher<\/strong> and NJPW&#8217;s <strong>Ryusuke Taguchi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lee beat his former Tag Team partner in <strong>NJPW<\/strong>, Ryusuke Taguchi in the first round. In the semifinals beat Brody King and in the finals Flip Gordon.
