Impact has been working with the developmental women&#8217;s promotion for the past several months, but <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2018\/06\/25\/breaking-womens-developmental-brand-rise-nearly-100-chance-of-closing-in-july\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RISE has apparently hit some snags<\/a> and it&#8217;s future seems uncertain beyond this weekend. Here&#8217;s hoping they find the help they need, as RISE has become a very needed source of guidance for women on the indie circuit, and their new alliance with Impact Wrestling was looking to be an exciting one. Here&#8217;s a run down of a pretty stellar card for this Saturday&#8217;s event.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Bones of Contention (Karen Q &amp; Ray Lyn) vs. Twizted Sisterz (Thunder Rosa &amp; Holidead)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21239\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21239\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21239\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/07\/RISE14-e1530630237721.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"298\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21239\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>One of the newer tag team combinations in RISE, <strong>Ring of Honor<\/strong> WOH star <strong>Karen Q<\/strong> teams up with another indie star, <strong>Ray Lyn<\/strong>, as the <strong>Bones of Contention<\/strong>, and the rapidly rising duo faces an indie tag team of veterans, <strong>Holidead<\/strong> and <strong>Thunder Rosa<\/strong> (who made her ROH debut recently, as well as portraying <strong>Kobra Moon<\/strong> on <strong>Lucha Underground<\/strong>). Both teams are looking to become top contenders for the Guardians of RISE Tag Team titles, being crowned later in the card.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Kimber Lee vs. Shazza McKenzie<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21238\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21238\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21238\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/07\/RISE13-e1530630283854.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"298\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21238\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Due to illness, Aussie indie veteran (and 2x <strong>SHIMMER<\/strong> Champion) <strong>Madison Eagles<\/strong> has had to withdraw from the event, so it&#8217;s been reduced to a singles match up between former <strong>CHIKARA<\/strong> Grand Champion <strong>Kimber Lee<\/strong> and another Australian star, <strong>Shazza McKenzie<\/strong>. McKenzie is a former Heart of SHIMMER Champion and the current <strong>Pro Wrestling Australia (PWA)<\/strong> Women&#8217;s Champion in Australia, and even as a singles match, this will be an exciting pairing.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Madison Rayne vs. Kikyo<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21237\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21237\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21237\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/07\/RISE12-e1530630308850.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"298\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21237\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>RISE star <strong>Kikyo<\/strong> (also a veteran of SHIMMER, <strong>SHINE<\/strong> and other promotions) takes on 5x Impact Knockouts Champion <strong>Madison Rayne<\/strong> in another test for Rayne, whose in the middle of a comeback run in Impact as she gets ready to face <strong>Su Yung<\/strong> at <em><strong>Slammiversary XVI<\/strong><\/em> in Toronto on July 22.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Allie vs. Mercedes Martinez<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21236\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21236\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21236\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/07\/RISE11-e1530630324806.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"298\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21236\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>An indie dream match, former 2x Knockouts Champion <strong>Allie<\/strong> will face a true indie icon in <strong>Mercedes Martinez<\/strong>, a former 2x SHIMMER Champion, 3x <strong>Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU)<\/strong> Champion, 5x <strong>World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW)<\/strong> Women&#8217;s Champion and current SHINE Tag Team Champion. Mercedes also had a solid run in last year&#8217;s inaugural <strong>Mae Young Classic<\/strong> in the WWE, making the final four before bowing out to<strong> Shayna Baszler.<\/strong> This is the first time the two have faced each other since early 2017, when Martinez defeated Allie for the WSU Championship.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tessa Blanchard vs. Kris Wolf<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21235\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21235\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21235\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/07\/RISE10-e1530630340527.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"298\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21235\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Tessa Blanchard<\/strong> is a new addition to Impact&#8217;s Knockouts Division, and despite coming up short several times, is still one of the most gifted wrestlers on the indie circuit. She&#8217;s facing <strong>Stardom<\/strong>&#8216;s <strong>Kris Wolf<\/strong> in what should be an exciting singles match up. They&#8217;ve faced each other five times previously (four with Stardom, once with <strong>Bar Wrestling<\/strong>) and Tessa has always come up on top, be it singles or tag team action. Wolf will be hoping to finally secure a win over the third generation star.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Guardians of RISE Tag Team Championship (Four Corners Elimination Match): Paradise Lost (Dust &amp; Raven Ash) w\/ Rosemary vs. Team Blue Nation (Jessica Troy &amp; Charli Evans) vs. Wily Smilies (Kylie Rae &amp; Miranda Salinas) vs. Fire &amp; Nice (Chelsea Green &amp; Britt Baker)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21243\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21243\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21243\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/07\/RISE4-e1530630355387.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"299\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21243\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Hopefully RISE manages to pull itself out of its despair and carry on past this weekend, as they&#8217;re crowning the inaugural RISE tag team champions with a four corners elimination match for the Guardians of RISE titles. <strong>Rosemary<\/strong>&#8216;s stable of <strong>Paradise Lost<\/strong> (<strong>Dust<\/strong>, aka Zoey Skye, and <strong>Raven Ash<\/strong>, aka Melanie Cruise) will have the Demon Assassin their corner, so they&#8217;re automatically the favorites going in, but they face some stiff competition. Australia&#8217;s <strong>Team Blue Nation<\/strong> have been impressive of late, and the new duo, the <strong>Wily Smilies<\/strong>, are gaining momentum after building up solid singles runs the past year. <strong>Fire &amp; Nice<\/strong> is a veteran tandem featuring former Knockouts Champion <strong>Chelsea Green<\/strong> and <strong>Britt Baker<\/strong>, and pose the biggest threat to Paradise Lost to claim the titles.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Phoenix of RISE Championship Match (30 Minute Iron Woman Match): Delilah Doom (c) vs. Shotzi Blackheart<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21241\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21241\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21241\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/07\/RISE2-e1530634447230.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"299\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21241\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>RISE Champion<strong> Delilah Doom<\/strong> puts her title on the line against former Phoenix of RISE Champion <strong>Shotzi Blackheart<\/strong>, who made her own Impact debut at the last set of tapings in Windsor, Ontario. The two rivals will settle their score in a 30 minute Iron Woman match, to settle once and for all who is the better Champion.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Impact Knockouts Championship Match (Falls Count Anywhere): Su Yung (c) vs. Saraya Knight<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21242\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21242\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-21242\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/07\/RISE3-e1530630371271.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"299\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-21242\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: RISE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The main event sees &#8220;The Undead Bride&#8221; Su Yung put her championship on the line in a falls count anywhere match against one of women&#8217;s wrestling&#8217;s true pioneers, UK legend &#8220;Sweet&#8221; <strong>Saraya Knight<\/strong> (co-founder of <strong>World Association of Wrestling (WAW)<\/strong> in Norfolk, England and mother of WWE Superstar <strong>Paige<\/strong>).
