Tonight, marks the first time this year (2018) that World Wrestling League<\/strong> and Championship Wrestling Association<\/strong> go heat-to-head with two big shows. While World Wrestling Council<\/strong> has been fighting their biggest threat in company\u2019s history \u2013 themselves \u2013, WWL<\/strong> and CWA<\/strong> have formed two big shows that includes international stars like CMLL\u2019s<\/strong> and former WWE superstar Car\u00edstico<\/strong> and a big matchup that could lead for the change of WWL to IWA<\/strong> Puerto<\/strong> Rico<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

WWL presents: Golpe de Estado<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Golpe de Estado<\/em> is WWL\u2019s main show of the year. Last year, it was voted the show of the year, it was the second most attended show of all year in Puerto Rico (behind WWC\u2019s Euforia<\/em> with 2,500 fans) and it saw the debuts of Mecha Wolf 450<\/strong>, Mike<\/strong> Mendoza<\/strong> and Angel<\/strong> Fashion<\/strong>, a move that changed the tides of the Puerto Rican Wrestling scene.<\/p>\n

Tonight, the story that follows WWL is the return of Savio Vega<\/strong>, his alliance with real-life owner of WWL, Boris Bilbraut<\/strong> and his wish to bring back to the island the old International Wrestling Association, which was founded by Victor Qui\u00f1ones<\/strong><\/a>, Miguel P\u00e9rez<\/strong> and Savio Vega.<\/p>\n

In the heel battlelines are the stable known as Puro Macho, commanded by Manny Ferno. The stable wants to keep the WWL logo and named in place after tonight. Wrestlers like WWL Americas Champion JC<\/strong> Navarro<\/strong> and WWL Trio\u2019s champions, Khris<\/strong> D\u00edaz<\/strong>, PMS<\/strong> and Electro<\/strong> will fight in a 5-man elimination match (Survivor Series style) against Savio Vega, former IWA World and CWA champion Dennis<\/strong> Rivera<\/strong> (Vega\u2019s brother), former IWA Intercontinental Champion Richard<\/strong> Rond\u00f3n<\/strong>, Noel<\/strong> Rodr\u00edguez<\/strong> (former Unified WWC and IWA Tag team champion with Rivera) and Roxxy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Also, Mike Mendoza<\/strong> and Angel Fashion<\/strong> (Holy Fashion<\/a> or now called the TIDE<\/a>) will challenge Westside Mafia<\/strong> (alongside with Primos Melendez<\/strong>) for the WWL Tag Team titles. Mecha Wolf 450<\/strong> defends his WWL Heavyweight championship against BIG<\/strong>, this is Wolf\u2019s first defense of the title.<\/p>\n

Also, in the northside of Puerto Rico (Dorado), the now number two promotion in Puerto Rico, CWA, will have its biggest show of the year.<\/p>\n

The main event will be Star Roger<\/strong>, who has the second largest title reign in Puerto Rico\u2019s history (behind Carlos Colon<\/strong>) will defend his CWA Heavyweight championship against CMLL\u2019s Car\u00edstico. Roger, who now is a heel, has been actively promotion his record against Mexican wrestlers, he has beat Super<\/strong> Crazy<\/strong>, Juventud<\/strong> Guerrera<\/strong>, Laredo<\/strong> Kidd<\/strong>, among others, and says that is going to do the same with Car\u00edstico, Roger\u2019s reigns stands now at 526 days.<\/p>\n

Also, in CWA, Cuervo<\/strong>, who is actively now in the independent scene in promotions like DTU<\/strong> in Mexico (who has a relationship with Game Changer Wrestling) and Mucha Lucha Atlanta<\/strong>, will be in a Extreme Rules match match against his former partner Enyel<\/strong>.
