This article will not be going into detail on the not so bright history of presenting LGBT in <strong>WWE<\/strong> (<strong>Mickie James<\/strong>\/<strong>Trish Stratus, Goldust<\/strong>), but rather focus on the 21st-century approach by modern wrestlers like the Golden Lovers, <strong>Jack Sexsmith, Mike Parrow, Charlie Morgan\u00a0<\/strong>etc.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19238\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/05\/SEXSMITH-e1527092365699.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\"><\/p>\n<p>Supporting the inclusiveness in the Indy-scene is &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/contactproudapparel.bigcartel.com\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>PROUD<\/strong><\/a> Apparel&#8221; by Jack Sexsmith, The Pansexual <strong>PROGRESS<\/strong> regular is campaigning for openness and inclusiveness. The UK promotion PROGRESS is very supportive of this project and therefore takes a leader role, which makes them a very open-minded comany. Stonewall runs the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stonewall.org.uk\/our-work\/campaigns\/rainbow-laces\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rainbow Laces campaign<\/a>\u201c where you can lace your shoes with rainbow colored shoestrings to show your support and to show that sport is for everyone and no one should fear discrimination or be anxious about themselves. Sport and Wrestling bring people together. No matter which gender or romantic orientation you have you are a fan, performer, player, competitor and that is the important part of you.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_19236\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19236\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19236\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/05\/Copy-of-Copy-of-1200px-x-630px-\u2013-Untitled-Design-26-e1527092400393.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"315\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-19236\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: NJPW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Kenny Omega &amp; Kota Ibushi of NJPW as the <a href=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/2017\/12\/29\/kenny-omega-from-golden-lover-to-bullet-club-leader\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Golden Lovers<\/a> are a prime example of displaying a wonderful storyline of friendship and love between two outstanding wrestlers. They reunited as a team at the beginning of 2018 after nearly three and a half years and immediately became favorites of the LGBT Community. \u201cLet people think what they want to think,\u201d Omega <a href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/golden-lovers-want-make-wrestling-inclusive-lgbtq-community-160511498.html?guccounter=1\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told Yahoo Sports<\/a> back in March. \u201cIf LGBT people can identify with our story, if they think \u2018the Golden Lovers are my team,\u2019 I\u2019m good with that. It\u2019s the story of two wrestlers who shared dreams on their way up, who became fast friends, who are now reuniting at the top of their game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gay and Bi men are 4-times less likely to take part in team sports. If you think about that, nobody should be scared to take part in something that is made to socialize. Especially wrestling, a sport designed to entertain everybody, without building storylines on the back of minorities, like WWE did in the past and still does for the sake of money.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_19243\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19243\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-19243\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/05\/WWe-Great-Royal-Rumble-696x464-e1527092624986.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-19243\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>WWE recently held a big event in Saudi Arabia <em><strong>The Greatest Royal Rumble<\/strong><\/em>. An event, where Women were not allowed to wrestle and only allowed in the crowd with a male escort, Finn B\u00e1lor did not come out in his LGBT supportive gear and Sami Zayn could not perform because he is of Syrian descent. After WWE aired a promo package with female wrestlers the Saudi General Sports Commission issued an apology for &#8220;indecent material&#8221; because it contained Women. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equaldex.com\/region\/saudi-arabia\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Homosexuality is illegal in Saudi Arabia<\/a> and can be punished by death.<\/p>\n<p><em>Authors opinion: For me, WWE is putting money over equality. By doing that event\u00a0they supported a regime that oppresses human rights and is stuck in the Middle Ages. If you are a government in 2018 and you threaten people with the death penalty because of who they are, you have not arrived in the 21st century in any way. It is simply unimaginable and outright brainless to persecute people that\u00a0haven&#8217;t\u00a0done anything to hurt\u00a0anyone, robbed anyone or done anything negative. People that are brave enough to recognize themselves and be the way that they are born should be protected from countries like Saudi Arabia. Golden Lovers, Jack Sexsmith, <strong>NYWC wrestling<\/strong> who are doing all-LGBT events called &#8220;<strong>A Matter of Pride<\/strong>\u201c and two other people that should be focused on in the following paragraphs. A man and a woman who both struggled but ultimately embraced themselves and are more accomplished than ever.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19240\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/05\/PARROW-e1527092461137.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mike Parrow<\/strong>, who came out after he tried conversion therapy, only to find out who he really is. He grew up with a Catholic background while always knowing about his sexuality. His first steps in the Gay community weren&#8217;t successful either, due to him experiencing masculine shaming that put his confidence level down further.\u00a0 Parrow has been trained in the 3D Academy in Florida and now works mainly with <strong>WWN (EVOLVE)<\/strong> and <strong>MLW<\/strong>, where he get\u00b4s constant support since his coming out. He is engaged and can perform at a higher level now because he is embracing his personality. Mike Parrow now encourages young people to be who they are, do the sport they love and all of that without hate for themselves. Charlie Morgan defeated <strong>Sammii Jayne<\/strong> in a 20-minute battle in York Hall, Bethnal Green, London, during the match she climbed the balcony and did a somersault, but <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/totaldivaseps\/status\/992889978035335169\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">see for yourself<\/a>. She has competed against <strong>Toni Storm<\/strong> for the <strong>PROGRESS<\/strong> Women&#8217;s title at <strong>SSS16<\/strong>. She also stepped into the ring for <strong>OTT<\/strong> and <strong>RIPTIDE<\/strong> just to name a few. She also came out as openly Gay during a very emotional promo at EVE.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Charlie F&#039;N Morgan - Fearless\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dv83dofdAdE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt shouldn\u2019t just be that you\u2019re white and you\u2019re straight and that\u2019s cool \u2013 it shouldn\u2019t matter what race you are, what your sexual orientation is, it doesn\u2019t change you as a person, just be yourself,&#8221; Morgan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinknews.co.uk\/2017\/08\/11\/lesbian-wrestler-charlie-morgan-talks-about-coming-out-in-the-ring-and-the-lack-of-gay-wwe-superstars\/comments\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told Pink News\u00a0last August<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m just a good a worker as somebody who is straight, it shouldn\u2019t matter what race you are, what sexuality you\u2019re interested in.
