They would rather kill each other to get <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/davemeltzerWON?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@davemeltzerWON<\/a> to put their match over.  That is a problem that needs to be put front and center. While a solid hand who filled the mid-card scene during his tenure in the company, he was never thought as someone who drew fans into a building or pushed merchandise. Since entering the podcast world he has drawn criticism for his tweets encouraging male fans to send him pictures of female wrestling fans, without asking for the consent.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17118\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17118\" style=\"width: 395px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17118\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/04\/07da7232c1e43fe7bac9cbf0ef89778f_XL-e1523377144996.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"395\" height=\"500\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17118\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, his comment in this instance created a stir of criticism, lobbied toward <strong>Kenny Omega<\/strong>, <strong>Cody Rhodes<\/strong>, and <strong>Will Ospreay<\/strong> based on events at <em>Sakura Genesis<\/em>. Ospreay did have a scary incident where he landed on his head, causing blood to gush from the wound during his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship defense against <strong>Marty Scurll<\/strong>. Luckily, he didn&#8217;t need to spend time at the hospital after the incident.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Back at my hotel now. This development probably is frustrating to regular NJPW consumers, especially when they hear false claims being made about the product. There will always be individuals like <strong>Disco Inferno<\/strong>, <strong>Jim Cornette<\/strong>, and others who take shots at the modern product. On March 25th at <strong><em>Strong Style Evolved<\/em><\/strong>, <strong>The Young Bucks<\/strong> and <strong>Golden Lovers<\/strong> told an amazing story during their match. Despite the emotion and passion displayed during the encounter, it didn&#8217;t receive attention from the same individuals who often critique NJPW.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17117\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17117\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17117\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/04\/DZV4_a3VQAArlhZ_0-e1523377181145.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17117\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: NJPW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Even the main event of <em>Sakura Genesis<\/em> on April 1st hasn&#8217;t been mentioned by these convenient critics. <strong>Zack Sabre Jr.<\/strong> was turned into a legitimate main event threat due to his monstrous New Japan Cup run. In two weeks it became believable that he could be the one to end the historic IWGP Heavyweight Championship run of <strong>Kazuchika Okada<\/strong>. Their match told a story that isn&#8217;t often seen elsewhere in the world.<\/p>\n<p>It may be unfair to say those who critique NJPW without viewing the product are looking for a job elsewhere (especially if they are a fan), but it is worth examining closer\u00a0&#8211; especially as the promotion <a href=\"http:\/\/lastwordonprowrestling.com\/2018\/02\/17\/a-look-at-new-japan-pro-wrestlings-international-expansion\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">continues growing exponentially across the international landscape<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_17120\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17120\" style=\"width: 383px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17120\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/04\/efa25dc2f26e01e61a80c704458a351d-e1523377386758.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"383\" height=\"600\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-17120\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Antonio Inoki vs Stan Hansen<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Since their founding in January 1972 (the first card was in March of that year), NJPW has been best when they relied on their in-ring product to captivate their audience. Individuals like <strong>Antonio Inoki, Billy Robinson, Seiji Sakaguchi, Tatsumi Fujinami, Karl Gotch, Shinya Hashimoto, Great Muta, Nobuhiko Takada, Jushin Liger, Yuji Nagata, Hiroshi Tanahashi<\/strong>, and many others relied on their ability to tell stories within the ring to help the company grow at various points. In actuality, there aren&#8217;t many workers employed with the company who take the extreme high flying risks. Yes, you will find the various &#8216;head drop&#8217; spots, but in the majority of cases, those are performed safely.<\/p>\n<p>The criticism of the NJPW product also raises eyebrows when looking at the numerous injuries which happen in the WWE, in what is lauded by many as a &#8216;safer&#8217; and &#8216;smarter&#8217; style.
