Earlier this week, the WWE announced a series of tournaments at WrestleMania Axxess<\/strong><\/a>, as well as interpromotional Championship matches featuring Champions from PROGRESS<\/strong> and EVOLVE<\/strong>. At tonight’s opening night for WrestleMania Axxess, WWN Champion Keith Lee<\/strong> (WWN is the parent company that oversees EVOLVE, SHINE, Full Impact Pro<\/strong> and others) defended his title against NXT Superstar Kassius Ohno<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Keith Lee appearing in an NXT ring during WWE’s WrestleMania Axxess is a strange site, especially considering the rumors earlier this year that Keith Lee may have been offered a contract for the WWE (it hindsight, it was probably communication about appearing at Axxess for this match).<\/p>\n

This marked the first win for Keith Lee over Kassius Ohno, who was previously 2-0 against Lee on the indies as Chris Hero<\/strong>. Their first matchup was in December of 2016, when they met at Beyond Wrestling Party Animals<\/em><\/strong> event, followed by a rematch a month later at EVOLVE 76<\/strong><\/em>, for Hero’s “heading to NXT” goodbye party. Hero won both encounters. Keith Lee isn’t done for the evening, as he’s heading over to EVOLVE 102<\/strong><\/em><\/a> tonight to face Darby Allin<\/strong> in a special non-title match.<\/p>\n
