On the April 28, 2026 episode of NXT, Naraku made his debut, delivering a t-shirt to NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo. Coming over after a decade in New Japan Pro Wrestling, there were a lot of fans excited about his signing. Over the next few weeks, he began protecting D’Angelo’s championship reign<\/a> in an effort to get a title opportunity for himself.<\/p>\n

After both a tense meeting and an incredibly chaotic contract signing<\/a>, the two men met at the Great American Bash. D’Angelo was at a disadvantage due to getting a fireball to the face, leading to his right eye getting bandaged. However, the injury didn’t hurt him as he retained the title.<\/p>\n

The next week, Naraku attacked him, and he did the same the week after that. After a parking lot brawl on the July 14 NXT, General Manager Robert Stone declared a street fight for the next week. On the July 21 NXT, the street fight took place with lots of action between the two men.<\/p>\n

Tony D’Angelo Prevails over Naraku in Intense Match on NXT<\/h2>\n

Leading up to the street fight<\/a>, both men had a lot on their minds. D’Angelo was done with being attacked by Naraku, who started as a respectful ally towards him. But over time, his real character came out, with the fireball and mist as a way to get him into a championship match. Naraku was obviously angry that he lost at the Great American Bash. Attacking D’Angelo was the easiest way to get a rematch. Stone recognized how angry they were, so a street fight was made official.<\/p>\n

The match<\/a> started with Naraku immediately misting D’Angelo and dumping him over the top rope. Then he tossed him into the LED board and steel steps before getting him in the ring. Following that, he picked up the steel steps and rammed them into him before an unsuccessful pinfall was applied.<\/p>\n

He then hit him with a steel chair and dumped him onto a pile of chairs before another failed pin attempt. D’Angelo then dodged a stomp on a chair by moving his head out of the way. He then took Naraku and dumped him on the chairs in the ring.<\/p>\n

Then he drove him into the barricade when both men were outside. The two men brawled and ended up in the backstage area. D’Angelo got yelled at by the referee before Naraku wrapped a cable around his eyes. They went back to the outside area, where he got hit with a light. Then he dumped Naraku on the ground before throwing him back into the ring. The two men grabbed a crowbar and a kendo stick before making the two objects collide.<\/p>\n

D’Angelo tried to hit Naraku with the crowbar before he missed and got thrown into the ringpost. He then lifted a ladder that was placed in the ring and threw it onto Naraku. After both men were in the ring, he sent him into a trash can lodged between the ropes before an unsuccessful pinfall. He then got chopped and clotheslined out of the ring. But he managed to pick up the ladder and hit Naraku with it.<\/p>\n

That was followed up with him getting an Enter the Abyss onto the floor and dumped onto the announcer’s table. He got rolled into the ring, but beat the pin count. Naraku sprayed the mist, but it hit his hands instead of his face. Naraku’s mist was applied to his own face before D’Angelo hit him with a kendo stick. He then got hit with the Dead to Right through a table to give D’Angelo the title retention. This match was great, but Naraku couldn’t overcome what was thrown at him.<\/p>\n
