The last time WWE fans saw Blake Monroe\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in a match<\/span>\u00a0was on the April 21,\u00a0<\/span><\/span>2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>episode of NXT. She faced then-NXT Women\u2019s North American Champion Tatum Paxley in a casket match for th<\/span>e title<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and lost<\/span>. Afterward, she was sent off to the main roster,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0where vignettes were played<\/a><\/span>\u00a0for her arrival on Friday Night SmackDown.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Eventually, she made her debut on the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>May 22\u00a0<\/span><\/span>SmackDown\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in a backstage segment<\/a> with Chelsea Green.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She attacked Giulia and Kiana James two weeks later,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>but that was the last time she was\u00a0<\/span><\/span>seen\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in the ring<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>on television<\/span>. Since then,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>she\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>made her presence known\u00a0<\/span><\/span>with<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a series of backstage attacks<\/span>, with the latest one being against\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Candice LeRae last Friday. LeRae\u00a0<\/span><\/span>has to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>deal with\u00a0<\/span><\/span>both her demotivated husband<\/span><\/a><\/span> and Monroe, which is\u00a0<\/span><\/span>probably stressful<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>She\u2019s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>attacking everyone\u00a0<\/span><\/span>backstage, but<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>doing nothing in the ring. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Is this an effective\u00a0<\/span><\/span>strategy<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>or will it be time wasted as she should be competing in matches?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Blake Monroe\u2019s Athleticism is on Full Display with the Attacks<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Monroe arrived at NXT in June of last year after a successful run in AEW. She was the AEW Women\u2019s Champion for 174 days, both winning it from and dropping it to Toni Storm. <\/span><\/p>\n

Four months after her arrival, she beat Zaria for the NXT Women\u2019s North American Championship, a match that turned out to be a huge part of why Zaria betrayed Sol Ruca four months afterward. She ended up holding the title for 52 days, losing it to Thea Hail in a legitimate accidental pinfall<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Those title reigns showed how powerful she is in the ring. The recent backstage attacks show how she can be outside the ring.\u00a0They\u2019ve\u00a0been happening for several weeks to build anticipation for her eventual in-ring debut\u00a0on the main roster. Some might say WWE is wasting time with this, but she is proving that she can attack anyone at any time.\u00a0When she eventually wrestles on SmackDown,\u00a0she\u2019ll\u00a0do so after many displays of power in the backstage area.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She Should Be in the Ring with the Main Roster Talent<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

A month after she made her NXT debut, Monroe and Jordynne Grace beat Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne at the Great American Bash. For someone to have their first televised match on a PLE shows fans that WWE thinks she can do big things. Her many accomplishments in NXT definitely showed that. However, she hasn\u2019t done that on the main roster because she hasn\u2019t wrestled. <\/span><\/p>\n

The only time she\u2019s been in a SmackDown ring was in a dark match before the May 15 SmackDown, where she beat Grace.<\/span><\/p>\n

That means she\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0wrestled in over two months. She\u00a0could\u2019ve\u00a0still done the backstage attacks<\/a>,\u00a0but getting in dark matches with talent\u00a0would\u2019ve\u00a0gotten her used to what\u00a0the\u00a0WWE main roster is about.\u00a0NXT was different, as\u00a0mostly\u00a0everyone is learning the WWE style. On the main roster, some women have spent over a decade in the company. Monroe\u00a0should\u2019ve\u00a0been in consistent dark matches to get her ready for her eventual\u00a0in-ring debut.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How WWE Should’ve Handled the Blake Monroe Debut<\/span><\/h2>\n

The past couple of weeks have seen Monroe attack many wrestlers in the backstage area, leaving them down after many punches were thrown. Some fans have liked what\u2019s been happening, while others aren\u2019t fans. The attacks could be an advantage, as both her AEW and NXT runs have shown how impressive she is in the ring. <\/span><\/p>\n

Both of those runs produced championship reigns that were filled with great matches. WWE sees a lot of potential in her, which is why some people don\u2019t like her backstage attacks. <\/span><\/p>\n

Since being called up,\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0wrestled in one dark match two months ago, which\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0a good thing.\u00a0The June 2 SmackDown had her in the ring attacking Giulia and James, but she\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0been seen outside of the backstage attacks since then.
