One of WWE\u2019s most under-utilized wrestlers on their roster is Otis. He gets big crowd reactions whenever he appears, as his brand of comedy is a hit with fans. However, his luck with friendships other than Akira Tozawa has ended in disaster. First, he lost Mandy Rose during the COVID era. <\/span><\/p>\n

Then Chad Gable turned on the whole Alpha Academy two years ago. It seemed like Maxxine Dupri had his back, but what happened on the July 13,\u00a02026\u00a0episode of Monday Night Raw was his worst betrayal yet. <\/span><\/p>\n

He and Tozawa not only got betrayed by\u00a0Dupri<\/a>, but got brutally attacked by both Austin Theory and Bron Breakker, who are the current WWE World Tag Team Champions. They got kicked, punched, and received low blows. It was an absolutely horrible night for both of them, especially Otis, who had the worst night of his career. Getting the tag titles off the Vision at SummerSlam will be the redemption he\u2019s needed for years now.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Otis Winning Would Fully Break Up the The Vision<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Aside from two WWE World Tag Team Championship reigns and former leader Seth Rollins\u2019 WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign, the Vision\u00a0hasn\u2019t\u00a0made much of an impact\u00a0due to constant injury. Rollins took time off\u00a0to heal\u00a0his\u00a0shoulder, leading to his expulsion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Breakker missed a couple of months before returning at WrestleMania: Vegas<\/a>.\u00a0Bronson\u00a0Reed has been out since February, and Logan Paul\u00a0tore his\u00a0tricep\u00a0in May. Even Paul Heyman, though not injured, has walked away from them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0faction\u00a0is down to two healthy members\u00a0other than Dupri,\u00a0Breakker and Theory, the world tag team champions.\u00a0They don\u2019t have a match for SummerSlam, and Akira Tozawa & Otis are going to be really angry next Monday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Making that match official can allow Alpha Academy, especially Otis, to win and get redemption for their mistreatment.\u00a0The tag titles are the only thing holding the Vision together. If they lose,\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0no question that\u00a0Breakker\u00a0will spear Theory and disband the faction for good.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He\u2019ll Finally Get a Good Moment\u00a0That Fans Will\u00a0Appreciate<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Otis has been through a lot in his tenure with WWE. In addition to all the times that he\u2019s\u00a0been betrayed, he lost his Money in the Bank briefcase to the Miz in 2020, which the latter used to become\u00a0WWE Champion the following year.\u00a0Over and over,\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0been beaten down without any chance of redemption. <\/span><\/p>\n

He was World Tag Team Champion with Chad Gable four years ago, but there\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0a sad storyline attached.\u00a0They just checked off a title win with each other off their bucket list. This time is different for a huge reason. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dupri trusted\u00a0him\u00a0and threw away everything,\u00a0similar to\u00a0what\u00a0happened to her and Natalya after weeks of partnership last fall, as she ended her reign with the WWE Women\u2019s Intercontinental Championship<\/a>. Now\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0time for\u00a0him\u00a0to get his win and happy ending alongside Tozawa, who has\u00a0been with him the whole time. An Alpha Academy win will be a highlight in Otis\u2019 career.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now is the Best Time to Crown Alpha Academy<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

SummerSlam is taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota this year, which is\u00a0Otis\u2019\u00a0hometown.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0also the hometown of Chad Gable, who won the gauntlet match<\/a> to face Penta for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Getting a title match against the two men who beat him and his friend down in front of his friends and family is the\u00a0best case\u00a0scenario for him.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Winning the WWE World Tag Team Championships with\u00a0Tozawa\u00a0will be the culmination of a years-long cycle of being mistreated and seen as a joke by many different wrestlers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What Theory told him on Monday definitely crossed the line, and he\u2019ll definitely want to get him back for what he said.\u00a0What better way to do that than challenge him and\u00a0Breakker\u00a0at SummerSlam? Everyone is rooting for Otis\u00a0and\u00a0Tozawa, and have been for many years. One key victory will make their years of suffering worth it.
