Following his grueling loss to <\/span>Seth Rollins at Night of Champions<\/span><\/a> this past weekend, one of WWE\u2019s youngest and brightest stars finds himself at a fascinating career crossroads.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This high-stakes collision marked the definitive end of a phenomenal trilogy, with the veteran Rollins ultimately walking away with the series victory. Now that the dust has settled, fans are left wondering: where exactly does the powerhouse go from here?<\/span><\/p>\n

While the company teased a major World Heavyweight Championship run toward the end of last year, things have gone downhill ever since. It feels as though, since <\/span>Oba Femi<\/span><\/a> arrived on the main roster, WWE creative has treated Breakker like Woody in the first Toy Story movie: suddenly cast aside because they have a brand-new Buzz Lightyear to play with.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since losing his World Heavyweight Championship match to CM Punk on the <\/span>January 5, 2026, episode of Raw<\/span><\/a>, Breakker has served as a backdrop for The Vision until a hernia that required surgery in early February sidelined him for over two months, putting his trajectory on ice. Since his <\/span>return at WrestleMania 42<\/span><\/a>, however, Breakker\u2019s momentum has noticeably stalled.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not like Breakker is actually lacking the tools required for a major main-event push. He is a phenomenal in-ring worker, stands out as one of the most explosive athletes on the entire roster, and has displayed noticeable improvement on the microphone in recent months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bron Breakker is too good to be spinning his wheels. While we will map out the specific moves WWE must make to revitalize “The Dog,” we can’t look forward without first looking back. To understand how to fix his current trajectory, we have to look at the exact journey that brought him to this unexpected crossroads.<\/span><\/p>\n

Biography\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Raised in Woodstock, Georgia, Bronson Rechsteiner was practically born into the business. With his father, Rick Steiner, and uncle Scott Steiner dominating as The Steiner Brothers, pro wrestling is undeniably in his blood. <\/span><\/p>\n

Despite that iconic lineage, however, Bronson has noted that he truly fell in love with the business after watching Triple H battle The Undertaker at WrestleMania 27. He carried that athletic drive into high school amateur wrestling, capturing the 2016 Georgia Class AAAAAA State Championship in the 220-pound division.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following high school, he shifted his focus toward pursuing a potential career in professional football. He attended Kennesaw State University, where he played fullback and finished an impressive 2019 senior season with 909 rushing yards.<\/span><\/p>\n

In April 2020, he achieved a major milestone by making it to the NFL, signing with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. Sadly, his stint in the league was short-lived, as the team cut him in August 2020 during training camp roster reductions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following that tough setback, he immediately pivoted to the industry ingrained in his family\u2019s DNA: professional wrestling. WWE announced his signing to a developmental contract in February 2021, and he immediately reported to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, to begin training.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seven months later, he made his televised in-ring debut on NXT under the name Bron Breakker, instantly putting the locker room on notice by defeating <\/span>LA Knight<\/span><\/a>. He enjoyed massive success during his time in the developmental brand, capturing the NXT Championship twice and the NXT Tag Team Championship once.<\/span><\/p>\n

He officially moved to the main roster on February 16, 2024, appearing on Friday Night SmackDown. This call-up was a direct reward for his breakout performance in the Royal Rumble match just a few weeks prior.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since arriving on the main roster just over two years ago, Breakker has captured the Intercontinental Championship twice. He is also technically a one-time Tag Team Champion, having stepped in to replace Logan Paul following Paul’s triceps tear at <\/span>Saturday Night\u2019s Main Event<\/span><\/a> on May 23.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now that we have fully broken down his journey so far, it is time to look at what lies ahead.\u00a0 Breakker\u2019s main event trajectory is too valuable to let stall out permanently. To get “The Dog” back on the hunt, there are three critical moves WWE must make right now that can instantly revitalize his inevitable push.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Split From The Vision\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s fair to say that ever since The Vision was created, it has done far more harm to the members of the group than it has brought them success – especially from a physical standpoint.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bad luck started last October with Seth Rollins <\/span>tearing his rotator cuff<\/span><\/a>, followed by Bron Breakker needing hernia surgery this past February, Bronson Reed tearing his biceps that same month, and Logan Paul tearing his triceps last month. While <\/span>Danhausen<\/span><\/a> didn\u2019t curse this group, it certainly feels like the wrestling gods did.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, it isn\u2019t just this brutal injury history that makes us believe it\u2019s time for Breakker to exit the faction; it\u2019s that he\u2019s entirely ready for another solo run. As mentioned above, Breakker is already a fantastic in-ring performer with elite athleticism. Perhaps the only area where he truly needed help was with his microphone skills, a skill that Paul Heyman has clearly helped him master over the last few months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Given that Breakker has all the tools needed to become a significant main event player, the only thing that appears to be holding him back is being a part of The Vision.<\/span><\/p>\n

WWE can play a slow-burn storyline of having Breakker become frustrated with not just the group but also himself, ultimately leading to his exit from the faction. WWE must spend at least a couple of months building this up, given how rushed Rollins’ departure from the group felt.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a few months, that frustration can finally boil over. Ultimately, it could lead to him looking like an absolute beast by having him destroy all members of the group, including “The Oracle” Paul Heyman.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Move to SmackDown\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Two months ago, we detailed how <\/span>SmackDown has been in deep trouble<\/span><\/a>, particularly regarding a lack of main event talent on the roster. Adding someone of Breakker\u2019s caliber can bring a fresh and new energy that the show has arguably been missing for quite some time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Immediately upon his arrival, Breakker can make clear in a promo to the crowd that he\u2019s done with The Vision, explaining that his move to SmackDown is all about finding something fresh and new for his career path.<\/span><\/p>\n

With him added to the show, WWE has a number of interesting options for opponents he can go after. If WWE believes that Breakker isn\u2019t quite ready for an Undisputed WWE Championship reign, then a run with the United States Championship could be an excellent option.<\/span><\/p>\n

A clash between Breakker and <\/span>Trick Williams<\/span><\/a>, one of WWE\u2019s brightest young stars, would be an absolute box-office attraction. The two would naturally drive each other to new heights in separate areas: Williams would push Breakker’s limits on the microphone, while Breakker would be testing Williams’ skills inside the ring.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. A Feud With Cody Rhodes\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Breakker isn’t the only superstar facing looming questions about his future; Cody Rhodes finds himself in an equally intriguing spot. Following his shocking <\/span>loss to Sami Zayn<\/span><\/a> in the triple-threat main event at Night of Champions<\/a>, where he dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship, the wrestling community is left wondering: what\u2019s next for \u201cThe American Nightmare\u201d?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the conclusion of his third world title run, many fans are hoping that Rhodes takes a break from the championship scene and instead focuses more on personal, one-on-one feuds. Breakker would be an excellent candidate to kick off that next chapter.<\/span><\/p>\n

WWE could book a similar masterpiece for Rhodes, locking him into a high-profile trilogy with Breakker – much like the legendary series Breakker just finished with Seth Rollins – only this time, with Breakker winning the overall feud. Defeating an established and highly accomplished main eventer like Cody Rhodes would be the perfect step for WWE to prove Breakker belongs in the main event scene and, more importantly, is ready to carry a world championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

As WWE builds its future around foundational cornerstones like Oba Femi, Trick Williams, and Je\u2019Von Evans, Bron Breakker must be included in that deep pool of next-generation talent. He has proven his potential through numerous fantastic TV matches that highlighted his explosive speed and athleticism, complemented by his noticeably improved microphone skills in recent months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite losing at Night of Champions, he further proved to the world that he has exactly what it takes to work an incredibly exciting match.
