Chad Gable started 2026 as “The Original” El Grande Americano. Returning at this year’s Royal Rumble, he fought Ludwig Kaiser’s El Grande Americano for many months across AAA and WWE. At their mask vs. mask match on night one of Noche de los Grandes last month, he lost and revealed to everyone that the “Original” Americano was indeed him. Since then, he’s been apologizing to many luchadors<\/a> for his behavior, including Dragon Lee, Penta and Rey Mysterio.<\/p>\n

Someone who hasn’t had some good luck as of late is JD McDonagh. On the June 8, 2026 episode of Monday Night Raw, he and Dominik Mysterio wanted Danhausen to curse Oba Femi by offering him money.<\/p>\n

Danhausen took the money, and Femi moved on in the King of the Ring tournament, later becoming King of the Ring<\/a> at Night of Champions last Saturday. On the June 22 Raw, after demanding the money back, McDonagh got shocked by Danhausen’s machine. With Gable having success and McDonagh having misfortune, who would win the match between them?<\/p>\n

A Danhausen Distraction Gives Chad Gable the Win<\/h2>\n

McDonagh and Mysterio aren’t the only people in Judgment Day to run into Danhausen over the past couple of weeks. At Night of Champions, the WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan was walking out for her Queen of the Ring final match against Iyo Sky. After some words back and forth, Danhausen cursed her. In response, she slapped him in the face. But Sky won<\/a> and confirmed their title match at SummerSlam.<\/p>\n

Before McDonagh’s match with Gable, she destroyed Danhausen’s backstage working area and yelled at him when she confronted him afterward. It seemed like Judgment Day would be in more trouble after what happened.<\/p>\n

The match<\/a> began with both men trading offense. Gable threw McDonagh against the ropes and tossed him over his head. He threw him to the turnbuckle and began chopping him, showcasing his intense wrestling style. The camera then panned to Mysterio wearing Danhausen’s Knicks jersey.<\/p>\n

McDonagh delivered a sunset flip hoping for a pinfall, but it was unsuccessful as both men delivered many failed pinning combinations. After a jackknife pin attempt, Gable kicked him in the face and then put him in an ankle lock.<\/p>\n

Mysterio tried to grab him to break the hold but was unsuccessful. They both went outside the ring when the hold was broken, with Gable immediately going after Mysterio.<\/p>\n

That led to McDonagh pushing him into the steel steps. They got back into the ring, with Gable suplexing McDonagh into the corner. He climbed to the top rope to attempt a moonsault, but McDonagh got his leg up to stop him when he jumped off. But he grabbed the leg and hit him with another ankle lock.<\/p>\n

After several seconds of struggling, McDonagh shook him off and sent him to the outside apron. With the help of another distraction by Mysterio, both men went to the top rope and jumped off. McDonagh quickly went to the cover, but Gable kicked out.<\/p>\n

With both men down, Danhausen arrived with the briefcase full of money that he owed the Judgment Day, but quickly got chased out of the arena by Mysterio. McDonagh was distracted temporarily, but a roll-up pin again couldn’t win him the match. Gable then tried for another ankle lock, and quickly got the win due to a tap out.<\/p>\n

McDonagh and Mysterio opened up the briefcase<\/a> afterward. It exploded on them as Danhausen took back his Knicks jersey, but only temporarily, as Raquel Rodriguez took it from him afterward. Once again, Danhausen played a key role in the decision of a Judgment Day match<\/a>. Would they get their revenge, and if so, would Chad Gable be a part of it? No matter what happens, it seems their story is far from being over.<\/p>\n
