A Look at the Illustrious History of One of Lucha Libre&#8217;s Most Dangerous Factions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As seen recently on <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2026\/06\/29\/wwe-and-aaa-crossover-to-expand-more-this-summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Lucha Libre AAA<\/a>, Los Perros del Mal made their AAA return by attacking El Grande Americano in the main event segment of the show.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new iteration features a former member in Daga and brand-new members in Angel, Berto, Bronco Nima, and Karmen Petrovic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But who are Los Perros del Mal? For many, this is their first look at the group, especially as AAA has gotten more exposure on a global scale through their shows on YouTube.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So we\u2019ll be taking a look at the origins of the group to see where they started and how they got to be the very popular group (and promotion) that they became in the lucha libre scene.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Beginnings in the CMLL<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite being much more well-known at the time in AAA, Los Perros del Mal was actually formed in CMLL as La Furia del Norte.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_157386\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-157386\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2026\/04\/CMLL-logo-2018.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"154\" class=\"wp-image-157386 size-full\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-157386\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The official CMLL logo (Photo Credit: By http:\/\/cmll.com\/, Fair use, https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/w\/index.php?curid=59780578)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After a long feud with the heel trio of Vampiro, Perroth Jr., and Tarzan Boy, Vampiro would suffer an injury and be replaced by the newly debuted Hector Garza. Soon after, Perro Aguayo Jr. would become a rudo and turn on his mentor, Negro Casas, and ally with Garza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Later, they would be joined by Tarzan Boy and El Terrible and establish a stable called La Furia del Norte, which means The Northern Fury in English, as they all had only trusted northerners and they all hailed from Northern Mexico.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group would start to gain more prominence in the promotion and establish themselves as one of the top rudo stables in CMLL.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Enter \u201cLos Perros del Mal\u201d<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After years of La Furia del Norte having many successes, Perro Aguayo Jr. would decide to make a new group called Los Perros del Mal and include his La Furia del Norte teammates in the group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Furia del Norte would continue as a sub-group of Los Perros del Mal, but would refer to the group of Hector Garza, Tarzan Boy, and El Terrible. La Familia de Tijuana and other rudo stars would also be included in the group to expand Perro\u2019s stable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Under the Perros del Mal name, the group would see even more heights in popularity, with the cool new logo and name, and the group\u2019s antics making them a group to be hated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Later on, Aguayo and Garza would begin to feud and have a power struggle over the group. This would lead to a Hair vs. Hair match at CMLL\u2019s Homenaje a Dos Leyendas. Aguayo would defeat Garza in the match, and Garza would be forced to shave off his hair.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Perros del Mal Promotions and AAA\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In late 2008, Perro Aguayo Jr. would end up leaving CMLL after they had a falling out. Aguayo would be joined by Damien 666 and Mr. Aguila in leaving the promotion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following their departure, Aquayo would make his own promotion and name it after his group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With Perros del Mal and Perro Aguayo Jr. being very popular in Mexico, CMLL would take the creation of the brand new promotion seriously and would begin to counterprogram against the first few Perros del Mal shows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Many wrestlers would join the promotion, such as L.A. Park, Dr. Wagner Jr., and Cibernetico. The promotion would create its own titles, as well as gain the rights to the Mexican National Heavyweight Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The promotion was very strong and would be a solid promotion, behind CMLL and AAA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At Tripleman\u00eda XVIII, Los Perros del Mal invaded AAA and would be quick to make their presence known.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first major feud that the group would have was against Los Psycho Circus. The group would be the first to end the undefeated streak of Los Psycho Circus in a Steel Cage Weapons match. The trio would also defeat the group to become the first-ever AAA World Trios Champions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hector Garza and Texano Jr. would later leave CMLL and join Los Perros del Mal in AAA. Garza would win the Mexican National Heavyweight Championship. Sadly, Garza would later pass away from lung cancer, and the title would be deactivated for a few years in his honor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group would continue to have a lot of turnover and many different titles coming to the group, such as Daga winning the Cruiserweight Title and Taya Valkyrie winning the AAA Reina de Reinas Title.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The group would disband shortly after the death of Perro Aguayo Jr., with the remaining members of Daga, Pentagon Jr., and Garza Jr., now known as Angel in WWE, leaving the group later on.
