On this week’s WWE SmackDown in Italy<\/a>, in the middle of an intense match that saw the King<\/a> and Queen of the Ring<\/a> tournament see qualifiers for the semifinals, the “Ring General” Gunther made his way out to the ring to protest the results at WWE Clash in Italy, after Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes controversially defeated him.<\/p>\n

Gunther was livid after what went down in Clash in Italy, as his leg was under the bottom rope, and as he pleaded, the referee should’ve spotted and overturned the decision. In classic QB1 fashion, Cody Rhodes agreed with him. He said that if he wants to do it in Italy, they can do so. Unfortunately, Sami Zayn would rear his ugly head and cut things short between the two combatants.<\/p>\n

The Ring General would batter both Rhodes and Zayn before exiting the ring. Later in the night, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis would once again inquire if the rematch between the former longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion and the “American Nightmare” was still on the table, to which Rhodes replied that it is.<\/p>\n

Well, with that in mind, Aldis spoke with Gunther’s legal team, and they said that the match is on. Still, Gunther wanted to do it in his own terms, looking to name a stipulation next week on SmackDown<\/a> in Providence, Rhode Island, as WWE makes its long-awaited return to the United States.<\/p>\n

Cody did not budge and said he agrees, he wants to know the match stipulation next week, and in Kansas City, Missouri<\/a>, on June 19th, he wants the Undisputed WWE Title to be on the line. Everyone agreed as we await what circumstances Rhodes will defend his title under.<\/p>\n

WWE Universe, Gunther has not beaten Cody Rhodes…ever, and we’re sure it’s eating away at him. He claimed he was the best professional wrestler in the world, and he can prove it in two weeks, as another chapter of this rivalry is written.<\/p>\n
