However, the bigger issue wasn’t just the frequency of the defenses, but the lack of variety in her opponents. Her very first defense didn’t even happen until almost two months into her reign, when she defeated Raquel Rodriguez on the November 10, 2025, episode of Raw.

In fact, every single one of her title defenses was against either Rodriguez or Nikki Bella, right up until she ultimately dropped the belt at WrestleMania 42.

To refocus on Liv Morgan, it was important to dive into the company’s past booking issues with this title to provide a clearer picture of the situation.

With that being said, we think it’s the perfect time to look at five potential opponents who can instantly re-energize Liv Morgan’s title reign and, most importantly, provide more excitement for the fans. Let’s dive in!

Roxanne Perez

We’re starting our list with someone who shouldn’t come as a surprise to the WWE Universe, and a choice we believe would work incredibly well. WWE has been teasing a slow-burn exit for Roxanne Perez from The Judgment Day, dating back to a few weeks before Liv Morgan’s big win at WrestleMania.

The groundwork is already there, with the ousted Finn Balor attempting to lure Perez away from the faction. It would be a great move for WWE to finalize her departure from the group, turning her babyface for a major feud against Liv Morgan.

Here is how WWE could handle Perez leaving the “family”: let her passionately explain that she wants to achieve her ultimate goal of becoming a World Champion, only for Morgan to dismissively refer to her as a “rookie” who has plenty of time left to accomplish her dreams. More seeds were planted this past Monday on Raw, showing Roxanne’s clear dissatisfaction with her position in The Judgment Day following her Queen of the Ring tournament loss.

Despite Balor now having moved to SmackDown, they could have him make quick weekly appearances, encouraging Perez to pull the trigger and leave the group, which sets up the perfect opportunity for her to challenge Liv for the Women’s World Championship. WWE clearly feels that these two have unfinished business following their high-profile clash at WrestleMania.

The fanbase largely agrees with this direction. While the overall build to WrestleMania 42 felt lackluster, the rivalry between these two was a major bright spot. Their weekly brawls kept fans invested, highlighted by the April 6 episode of Raw, where Vaquer blindsided Morgan with a shove from behind during a backstage segment with Roxanne Perez.

The clash resulted in a severe, head-on collision, leaving Morgan with a massive hematoma on her forehead and landing both her and Perez in concussion protocol.

Given that WWE has yet to involve Morgan in a serious feud, it appears the company is playing the waiting game in anticipation of Stephanie Vaquer’s return from her ankle injury, likely looking to run it back with Liv, potentially at Night of Champions.

Lyra Valkyria

The next spot in the ranking belongs to Lyra Valkyria, who stands out as a compelling challenger for the Women’s World Champion. Though the two have minimal history together, WWE could easily paint Valkyria as a formidable underdog competitor.

To kick off the feud, Valkyria could confront Morgan to state that she is both ready and deserving of a world title opportunity. In a hypothetical promo, Bayley could call out Morgan, dismissively labeling her a cheap version of her past self.

And let’s not forget their dramatic showdown at the 2024 Royal Rumble, where Bayley won the match by eliminating Morgan while setting a then-record for the longest time spent in a single Rumble.
