This event will take place at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, NY. Unlike WWE, this is where the best wrestlers are. After all the unceremonious firings that took place in WWE recently, it is nice to know that there is an alternative destination for top stars, like The New Day, to showcase their immense talent.

It seems that storylines involving baldness are a common motif in AEW. Wheeler Yuta of the Death Riders got shaven “bald” by Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy in February 2026, Chris Jericho has been roasting Ricochet for being “bald” in their Stadium Stampede feud, and Darby Allin now wants to shave MJF “bald” in a title vs. hair match in the main event of AEW Double or Nothing 2026.

Other than the Owen Hart Tournament, Tony Khan’s “triple main event” features Darby Allin (c) vs. MJF for the AEW World Title, Thekla (c) vs. Kris Statlander vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Jamie Hayter for the AEW World Title, and FTR (c) vs. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage for the AEW Tag Titles. Here are the AEW Double or Nothing 2026 Predictions to kick off Memorial Day Weekend.

FTR (c) vs. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage – AEW World Tag Team Title Match

“When you’re born, you look like your family. When you die, you look like your choices.” This is the quote Christian Cage blurted out on the go-home show. FTR dropped Beth Copeland on her head and is on a mission to deviously separate two best friends by retiring them for good. Cope and Cage will get their revenge, make FTR say “I Quit,” and have one last run before hanging up their boots.

Prediction: Adam Copeland and Christian Cage

Mina Shirakawa vs. Athena – Owen Hart: Quarterfinals

Willow Nightingale was originally scheduled to battle Alex Windsor in her home state of NY for the Owen Hart Quarterfinals. However, she sustained a right shoulder injury in her match with Red Velvet on Collision. Henceforth, she had to drop out of the tournament and even relinquish the TBS Title. AEW scrapped that match and replaced it with another Owen Hart Tourney match.

Technically, Athena has been ROH Women’s Champion for 1,250 days and should maintain her credibility by not losing in the first round of this tournament. However, Mina Shirakawa is still trying to figure out who heinously attacked her love interest, Toni Storm. The top suspects seem to be Triangles of Madness, so Shirakawa has a motive to win this tournament and dethrone Thekla at All In.

Prediction: Mina Shirakawa

Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita – International Title

Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita have had beef in the Don Callis Family for months. They have failed to co-exist in high-stakes tag matches and have constantly thrown middle fingers at each other. Now, Takeshita can finally dethrone Okada to solidify his departure from the family, but Okada defies storyline logic and always wins, just like Roman Reigns on a typical Sunday PPV.

Prediction: Kazuchika Okada

Swerve Strickland vs. Bandido – Owen Hart Quarterfinals

Bandido has had a plethora of opportunities to showcase his potential in the main event scene ever since losing the tag team titles with Brody King. However, those “rubs” he had against MJF won’t be enough to defeat former World Champ Swerve Strickland in the first round of this tournament. Swerve still has to regain momentum after losing his shot at the World Title against Kenny Omega.

Prediction: Swerve Strickland

Jon Moxley (c) vs. Kyle O’ Reilly – Continental Classic Title

This title match is a callback to when Kyle O’ Reilly made Jon Moxley tap out twice in 2025. This feud was put on hold since O’Reilly dealt with a broken arm injury that kept him off TV for months before returning to win the trios titles with the Conglomeration at AEW Dynasty in April. With no time limit, Moxley will not tap out again and thereby solidify his leadership of the Death Riders.

Prediction: Jon Moxley

Will Ospreay vs. Samoa Joe – Owen Hart Quarterfinals

Like Swerve, Samoa Joe is a former 2-time AEW World Champion who should not lose in the first round. But Will Ospreay has a compelling storyline direction with Death Riders that is helping him evolve into a more lethal assassin and should warrant his triumph in this tournament. He has an even stronger case to win since he should win the World Title at All In, which is in his home country.

Prediction: Will Ospreay

Chris Jericho, Hurt Syndicate, & The Elite vs. The Demand, Don Callis Family, & The Dogs – Stadium Stampede

Chris Jericho, Hurt Syndicate, and The Elite are way too overpowered as a team to lose this faction warfare. Usually, too much star-power like this could lead to ego clashes in pro wrestling. However, Jericho has already taken enough losses to Ricochet and his goons to the point that he needs a big win to solidify his return to AEW. With an all-star team like this, there is no way he is losing again.

Prediction: Chris Jericho, Hurt Syndicate, & The Elite

Thekla (c) vs. Kris Statlander vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Jamie Hayter – World Title

By process of elimination, Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida will cancel each other out since they have planted seeds of dissension in their team. Jamie Hayter will unfortunately eat the pin and lose for a third time to Thekla since AEW gave up on Hayter the moment she returned from injury on the “buy-in ” pre-show of All In in 2024. AEW is way too high on Thekla for her to lose the title this soon.

Some fans think that the structure of the AEW Women’s Division is copacetic, but the storylines surrounding it have been subpar. Mercedes Moné should return here to juice things up again. She took a hiatus after losing her 10+ titles to repackage her character and come back as a babyface to become AEW World Champion for the first time. She would be the biggest threat to this title reign.

Prediction: Thekla

Darby Allin (c) vs. MJF – World Title

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBpixa2ApE" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 2681px; aspect-ratio: 2681/3351;" ></smartframe-embed>

Darby Allin dethroned MJF in his hometown of Everett, Washington and refused to give MJF a rematch unless he puts his hair on the line. MJF inevitably acquiesced to the “bald” stipulation. The fact that Allin ran through almost the entire roster with title defenses and the fact that AEW is already selling “bald MJF” merch to the fans foreshadows the end of Darby’s run in MJF’s home state of NY.

Prediction: MJF

How to Watch AEW Double or Nothing 2026

Date: Sunday 24th May

Time: The main broadcast starts at 8 pm ET / 5 pm PT

Watch in the US: Amazon, HBO Max, Fubo, MyAEW, PPV.com, the AEW YouTube channel, and traditional cable and satellite providers.
