In this weekend\u2019s World Wrestling Council <\/strong>tv show \u201cSuperestrellas de la Lucha Libre\u201d<\/a>, it was announced that a legendary championship will be restore for WWC\u2019s two-night event Camino a la Gloria<\/strong><\/em> (Road to Glory).\u00a0The WWC Television Championship will make its return once again to the WWC. The title was last seen in 2008, back when WWC was in a bitter war against rival wrestling promotion International Wrestling Association<\/strong> (IWA-PR).\u00a0Chris Joel<\/strong> \u2013 the television champion at the time \u2013 jumped ship to IWA Puerto Rico and in the process vacating the TV title.<\/p>\n

Now at Camino a la Gloria<\/em>, WWC will have a Battle Royal with Sudden Death, where young stars will take the stage to battle for the WWC Television Title this Saturday March 31, 2018. The wrestlers announced for the match are: OT Fernandez<\/strong>, Peter the Bad Romance<\/strong>, Rikochet <\/strong>(not to be confused with WWE\u2019s Ricochet), \u201cMan Beast\u201d Enyel, Bellito, A. Roberts<\/strong> and Comandante<\/strong> (who is part of the stable La Revolucion<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The WWC Television title goes back to 1986 when WWC was Capitol Sports Promotion<\/strong>. The title was fought in an epic tournament that is still remember by fans, that saw wrestling legend Ron Starr<\/strong> beat Jos\u00e9 Gonzalez<\/strong> (Invader I) in the finals of the tournament to win the title. From there, the title was considered a \u201cworkhorse\u201d title, reserved for those mid-carders who gave it all in the ring. TV Champions in those days included Keiji Mutoh<\/strong> (The Great Muta), Dick Murdoch<\/strong>, TNT<\/strong> (Savio Vega), Carlos<\/strong> Colon<\/strong>, Chicky<\/strong> Starr<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n
