He doesn’t understand where Jacob Fatu is coming from. Everyone had two years to take advantage of him taking a backseat, but Fatu waited for the moment Reigns came back and defeated CM Punk to decide he wanted to lay claim to the top of the mountain. Jimmy Uso says he understands where his cousin is coming from, but he doesn’t agree with the timing. He says they watched Fatu drop the MFTs at SmackDown. Jey added that he is unpredictable and dangerous. Jey says there should be consequences. Reigns says they don’t do charity before he thanked his cousins and said he was going to think about it and address Fatu later. The three stare into the camera as Reigns declares them the “first family.”

Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker Kick Us Off

Seth Rollins calls out Bron Breakker, saying he’s the reason he lost his title and his WrestleMania match against Gunther. Rollins tells Breakker he gave Breakker everything, and he repaid him by taking everything away from him. He wants to know what he got out of it, noting his actions didn’t benefit him at all. Breakker says Rollins gave him nothing. Every week him and Bronson Reed fought all of Rollins’ battles and put out his fires while having to listen to him say the same crap. Breakker says he never needed Rollins and his vision, but he did need Heyman, and that’s why they are standing here today.

Rollins has seen all kinds of athletes come in, but Breakker is unique – the biggest, strongest, fastest, most versatile performer he’s ever seen. He’s got everything he needs to be a star except a brain. Rollins says he knows better than anybody what it means to come into the company and bet on yourself, to make decisions people aren’t going to like. The difference is that Breakker tries while Rollins succeeds. Rollins says when he bet on himself, he got main events and titles; when Breakker did, he got Austin Theory, Logan Paul, and happy endings from Heyman. Rollins tells Breakker he isn’t ready.

Breakker says he was on his way to becoming a main eventer without Rollins. He didn’t need him. The truth is, Rollins’ shoulder can’t handle the weight of a strap on it anymore; his body is too broken. Breakker says he came up short when he took his shot, but he can go to sleep knowing that he lost to the Best in the World instead of someone who self-proclaims it. Breakker says Rollins is a first ballot Hall of Famer, the very best professional wrestler in the entire world…at being number two. Rollins calls Breakker “baby Steiner” and asks if he came up with that line on his own. Rollins says if Breakker thinks he’s ready, he’ll have the opportunity to prove it at Backlash in two weeks. Rollins ends by saying Breakker isn’t even number two in his own family.

Judgment Day Attack Stephanie Vaquer

Raquel Rodriguez cheapshots Stephanie Vaquer as she is walking backstage, and is joined by Roxanne Perez as they push a production cart into Vaquer. Liv Morgan appears to say this is her title.

Match One: Penta vs Rusev

Before the match can start, Ethan Page makes his way ringside to watch. Rusev uses his power to take an early advantage, as Michael Cole notes that in three prior attempts, Penta has never beaten Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute taunts Page, allowing Penta to get back in the match with a dropkick and tope con hilo. Page stands and applauds, leading Penta to get in his face. Page tells him to keep his eyes on the prize as Rusev takes advantage of the distraction. Rusev catches Penta with a kick back in the ring, taking control as we head to break. Rusev and Penta are on the ropes, but Penta fights him off and hits a crossbody followed by a slingblade. Penta continues to lay down the assault, leading to a pinning attempt, but Rusev kicked out at one. Penta with a backstabber for another nearfall, this time Rusev kicks out at two. Rusev manages to take control again with a huge Matchka Kick. He looks for the Accolade, but Penta slips behind and sneaks a roll up for the win.

Rating and Match Review: The finish felt incredibly abrupt, but it seems this was less about the match and more about the aftermath. Rusev beat down Penta post-match as Page got in the ring to assist, but Rusev chased him off. Penta fought back, bringing Page back in for an ambush. Je’Von Evans came out to even the odds, taking out Rusev with a massive OG Cutter much like at WrestleMania. Evans and Penta shake hands. Match grade: C+

Tres Americanos Want Rey Mysterio

El Grande Americano says they are about to compete in one of the most important matches in lucha libre history, mask vs mask. This match is going to be the most important of his life. He’s going to have to be ready to fight for his life, his name, his country. To prepare, he’s issuing a challenge to the biggest lucha libre name in the business, Rey Mysterio. El Grande says it would be an honor to have that match tonight in Laredo.

Becky Lynch Issues Open Challenge

Becky Lynch says we are in a new era of the Manisphere as history was made at WrestleMania 42. She finally got rid of “loser” AJ Lee and ended her “horrible” title reign. She’s the first WWE superstar in history to win four different titles at WrestleMania, the first three-time Intercontinental Champion. She’s won more matches in history than any other woman, and she’s coming for the Undertaker’s record next. She proved why she’s the greatest of all time, and everyone says it. All of that was great, but what happened after was better as she saw her baby girl in the front row and walked with her up the ramp. She needed to show her what a real champion is. It’s not about the indulgences or performing in front of the best crowds. It’s about showing up in the rundown towns like Laredo and showing out for the common folk. She knows what they need. They want her to be a fighting champion and to defend her title against the best of the best. Lynch says as the man of the people, she’s issuing an open challenge. And it’s answered by none other than Iyo Sky. She says she accepts the challenge, but Lynch says she accepts what? She wanted to fight the best of the best – new, shiny, exciting, and Sky is none of those things. Lynch says she gets it now, Sky is accepting on behalf of Rhea Ripley, so she can become Becky Two Belts. She said she wanted to fight Shawn Michaels and not Marty Jannetty. Lynch said Sky has been holding Ripley back, causing Sky to attack. Lynch tries to leave, but Adam Pearce stops her, saying the challenge was issued and answered, so let’s make this match official, right now.

Match Two: Women’s Intercontinental Championship – Becky Lynch vs Iyo Sky

Lynch cheapshots Sky before the official comes out, and we go to break. It’s all Sky coming out of the commercial, but Lynch quickly takes over, grounding Sky with a nearfall. Lynch hits the Becksploder as Sky rolls out of the ring. Lynch gives chase and takes out Sky before throwing her back in the ring. Lynch climbs to the top and hits a leg drop for another nearfall. Sky takes over, using some innovative offense before climbing to the top. The Genius of the Sky with the missile dropkick. She hypes up the crowd before landing the Bullet Train Attack for a nearfall. Lynch pulls Sky off the ropes for her own pinning attempt. Sky rolls out of the Manhandle Slam, but Lynch rolls out of the ring before Sky can do any damage. Lynch intercepts the suicide dive attempt, but Sky traps Lynch on the apron and lands the sunset flip bomb. Both women are down on the outside as we go to another break. Lynch hits a superplex and DDT for a nearfall coming out of the commercial. Lynch goes for the Manhandle Slam, but Sky reverses for a nearfall. The two exchange reversals before Sky hits the backbreaker, and Lynch kicks out at two. Sky to her feet first. She climbs the ringpost, but Lynch follows her up. Sky hits the tornado DDT and goes for the Over-the-Moonault, but Lynch gets the boots up. She hits the Manhandle Slam, but somehow Sky kicks out. The crowd starts to rally behind Sky as Lynch climbs to the top. Sky pushes her off and to the outside before launching off the ropes with an Asai Moonsault to take down Lynch. She rolls her in the ring and heads back to the apron, but Asuka sneaks up from behind to take down Sky, allowing Lynch the chance to hit the Manhandle Slam for the win.

Rating and Match Review: It took a while to get there, some of it a result of ill-timed commercial breaks, but the battle between Lynch and Sky hit an apex toward the end with both women showcasing their explosive ability. Sadly, the match, which hit a high when Sky kicked out of the Manhandle Slam, was robbed of a proper finish. Asuka showed up to cost Sky, suggesting that the issues between these two are far from over. Asuka continued the beatdown post-match as the crowd chanted, “We want Kairi.” Match grade: B-

El Grande Americano and Rey Mysterio

El Grande Original wants to know if he needs to watch his back from Rey Mysterio. Mysterio says no. He’s just looking for both of them to respect lucha libre. Tres Americanos crash the scene, and the two El Grandes get into it until Mysterio breaks it up. He’s not choosing sides. El Grande Nuevo and Mysterio exchange words in Spanish.

Boosos and LA Knight

The Usos (who get booed pretty badly) are backstage saying the OTC will make a decision when he’s ready. LA Knight rolls up and wonders why the two are sitting at the table again. He is here to remind them who they are. Jey Uso is a world champion, and Jimmy Uso has the potential. Jey says Knight needs to stay in his lane as Jimmy adds this is family business. Knight says that with the Bloodline, they had immense power, and power corrupts. When it does, it becomes his business.

Joe Hendry Live in Concert, so Let the Chaos Begin

Joe Hendry says he had a big decision to make, and he’s going to explain things in a song. He’s won titles everywhere he’s gone and been on many shows, but he had to pick one brand. He sings Joe Hendry signs to Raw as next time people turn on Netflix they won’t just want to chill as he’ll have him believing in a better kind of thrill. Hendry says respect to the Ruler, and he acknowledges the OTC. He says he just wants to make one change: fire Logan Paul. He gets the crowd and Michael Cole singing, “Can we fire Logan Paul,” bringing out the YouTube star and Austin Theory. Paul says he is unfirable, and the crowd is awful, just like the song. Paul says this was Hendry’s first night on Raw, but also his last. Theory points at his and Paul’s titles and says they are the greatest tag team champs in the universe. He says they are winners. Hendry asks the crowd if they are winners, and they say no, as does he. Hendry says he saw WrestleMania, and all he sees are some primetime losers. The two tear down Hendry’s set as Theory says everything belongs to the Vision, and tonight they are going to go through Hendry. It’s two one one, but Hendry holds his own until the Street Profits are here to ruin the Vision’s fun yet again. The faces clear the ring as everyone does Hendry’s hand waving.

Grayson Waller Gets a Match

Grayson Waller tells Adam Pearce he wants an opportunity, and Pearce says Oba Femi is overrated. Femi was right behind him and said if Waller wants an opportunity, he’s got one tonight.

Street Profits and Seth Rollins

The Street Profits are backstage with Joe Hendry, welcoming him to Raw when Seth Rollins rolls up. They say last week wasn’t about him, it was about the titles. He’s not special. They walk away joking that Rollins thinks he has friends, carrying through the thread that Bron Breakker started earlier in the night.

Match Three: El Grande Americano vs Rey Mysterio

Both men start off looking for the early edge as El Grande Americano lays on Rey Mysterio and attempts to pin him repeatedly. Mysterio pushes Americano off him and hits a sunset flip for his own nearfall. The two stare each other down as both clap for the other. Mysterio extends his hand, and Americano shakes it before the two get back to the action. Americano takes Mysterio down before Mysterio counters and looks for the 619. Americano back up with a huge kick for a nearfall as we head to break. Mysterio is in control coming out of the commercial, but Americano quickly regains his momentum. Americano follows Mysterio to the ringpost and gets him on his shoulders, but Mysterio slips out. Americano catches Mysterio off the post, but Mysterio counters with a DDT for a nearfall. Mysterio kicks Americano into the ropes, looking for another 619, but Bravo trips him as Rayo makes the distraction. Rayo goes to put the plate in Americano’s mask, but Mysterio takes both out with the 619. Americano grabs the plate but can’t place it as the Original Americano shows up and takes the plate. Mysterio finally lands the 619 and the frogsplash for the victory.

Match Rating and Review: WWE seems to be allergic to clean matches tonight. Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano were having a perfectly average TV match before Dos Americanos got involved. Original El Grande came out to even the odds and prevent Nuevo from getting the steel plate in, allowing Mysterio to land the 619 and get the win. Much like earlier in the night with Penta and Rusev, this match was mostly a vehicle to continue a different feud, that of the two El Grandes. They are set to go head-to-head in a mask vs mask match in AAA in May. Match grade: C

Asuka Cuts a Promo Explaining Away Kairi Sane’s Absence

Asuka tells Iyo Sky that all she’s done is disappoint her. She blamed herself for Sky’s mistakes and her turning her back on her, but now she realizes Sky was the problem. She’s selfish and Asuka’s biggest failure. Asuka says she spared Sky because she thought they could be a family again, but Sky killed that family, and now nothing will stop her from destroying her. Asuka says they are both alone now because Asuka didn’t want another failure like Sky (seemingly WWE’s way of explaining Sane no longer being in the picture). At Backlash, she fixes her failure and teaches Sky one final lesson. She isn’t and will never be ready for Asuka.

Match Four: Grayson Waller vs Oba Femi

Grayson Waller runs into a clothesline and a series of body shots as Oba Femi whips Waller from pillar to post. Waller rolls to the apron to avoid the fight, but Femi drags him back in. Waller hangs Femi up on the ropes briefly, but that’s the only offense he’s getting tonight. Femi responds and eventually hits the Fall from Grace for perhaps the easiest win he’ll ever have.

Match Rating and Review:

Sometimes, a two-minute squash match is just what the doctor ordered. On a night where everything has been overbooked, this entire match lasted under two minutes, and Grayson Waller got in one piece of offense. But that’s exactly what this match needed to be. Femi cut a great promo afterward, saying more than the six words or so he did last week. Femi said Waller was right about there not being an opportunity, so he took it upon himself to create a solution to the problem. Starting today, the Oba Femi Open Challenge commences. The ring is open for any man to see how they fare at the top of the mountain. He’ll punish any person and be relentless because they are stepping into the ring with the Ruler. Match grade: A

A Rox and a Hard Place

The ladies of Judgment Day are backstage as Liv Morgan asks for a moment alone with Roxanne Perez. She wanted to finish the conversation they started before WrestleMania. Morgan apologized to Perez for the way that things went down with Finn Balor while she was gone. She knew how close they were. Morgan knows because she also watched from home as Balor brought her into the Judgment Day. Morgan says they are family, and Balor put himself above the family. Morgan says she’d never do that to her, so she is going to be in her corner tonight. Perez says she trusts Morgan, but as she’s left alone in the clubhouse, Balor shows up to say she can’t trust Morgan or the others. Perez suggests she can’t trust Balor. She’s with Judgment Day, and she’s got a match to get ready for. She tells Balor to leave before he gets hurt, and he says he hopes she knows what she’s doing.

Match Five: Bayley and Lyra Valkyria vs Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez

Bayley and Raquel Rodriguez are going to start things off. Rodriguez powers Bayley into the corner, utilizing her strength advantage. The two stay locked up until Rodriguez tags in Roxanne Perez, who gets a huge ovation in her home state. It’s noted that this is her first televised match in her home city. Bayley tags in Lyra Valkyria, and Valkyria and Perez lock up. Valkyria takes out Perez and takes control before tagging back in to Bayley. Backbreaker by Valkyria, but they can’t hit the double team as Perez takes out Bayley before Valkyria takes out Perez, and Bayley gets a nearfall. Action spills to the outside as Rodriguez clotheslines Valkyria before pulling Bayley off the apron and into the post. It’s all Judgment Day as we go to break. A hot tag to Valkyria and Perez starts us back as Valkyria comes in fired up. She powers Perez down for a nearfall and then tags back in to Bayley. Perez rolls off and tags in Rodriguez. They double-team Bayley for a nearfall, but Valkyria breaks it up. Rodriguez tags in Perez, who knocks Valkyria off the apron, preventing the tag. Bayley counters with a Bayley to Belly, but Rodriguez breaks it up. Valkyria and Rodriguez end up on the outside as Morgan climbs on the apron, providing a distraction. That gives Perez the opportunity to take out Bayley with a shining wizard, followed by Pop Rox.

Review and Match Rating: Yet another match (the fourth out of five on the night) ending with interference from factionmates or foes would be tiresome if the circumstances were different. Judgment Day doesn’t win matches clean, that’s just the way it is. The fact that Livv Morgan created the distraction that enabled Roxanne Perez to be the hero in the home city that was hot for her the whole night just made sense. The match itself was another fine contest between four women who know each other extremely well at this point, but clearly, the focus remains on Judgment Day and their quest to claim all the gold yet again. Match grade: B+

Main Event: Roman Reigns Answers Jacob Fatu

Roman Reigns takes in the chants, saying it’s been a while since he’s been in Texas, but it seems the people still love their tribal chief. Reigns says the title was made in spite of him. It was made to take away from his shine, but it never worked. There is an old saying that the title doesn’t make the man; the man makes the title. He says that’s what he’s done. He’s put the title in the main event, night two of WrestleMania. He made the title relevant. Now, you can be proud of this title and respect this title. Now, you can acknowledge this title. Laredo proceeds to acknowledge their tribal chief. That brings out Jacob Fatu as Raw approaches the two-hour, thirty-minute mark.

Fatu makes it clear he’s done waiting around as he gets a nice reaction from the crowd as well. Reigns tells him it’s perfect timing, as he was just getting to him. He gave him a week, time to think. He’s hoping his cousin made the right choice, the choice to unite the family, not divide it. Fatu says he didn’t need a week. He didn’t need a day or an hour. He knows what he wants and what he came out last Monday for. He didn’t stutter when he told him he needed the title. Fatu says Reigns seems to be stuck in his bubble of tribal chief land. He doesn’t grind like Fatu. It took him 12 years of hard work, suffering, and not knowing when the next meal was going to be. When they were running the Bloodline, he was broke and on the frontline, trying to figure out if he was ever going to get to WWE. It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish, and it got him standing right here. Before WWE, none of them called him. Solo Sikoa is the one who called him and gave him a chance. Reigns says Fatu is either confused or dumb. Sikoa couldn’t get a cup of coffee delivered to the building. Reigns runs this place. He’s been a little distracted, but he never forgot about Fatu. He is the one who signed off on him being there, but now he’s sounding like a fool. He doesn’t deserve it, and he hasn’t earned it. If Reigns allows him to compete against him, that’s nepotism.

Fatu has heard enough as he attacks Reigns and wrestles him down to the mat. He says he’s going to take everything from Reigns before he grabs the title and throws it on Reigns. As Fatu walks away, Reigns says if this is what he wants, the match is his.
