On Saturday, April 4, 2026, NXT held its annual Stand & Deliver PLE. It was filled with lots of great wrestling and huge moments that completely changed the brand. Tony D\u2019Angelo became NXT Men\u2019s Champion, while Lola Vice<\/a> became NXT Women\u2019s Champion. It was a reset for the brand as a whole, but there was a clear issue. Usually, the PLE is held on the same weekend as WrestleMania, but this year it was held two weeks earlier. What would happen to the people certain to be called up? <\/span><\/p>\n

On the following Tuesday, NXT General Manager announced NXT Revenge, their latest television special.\u00a0Over the next two weeks, rematches from\u00a0the PLE\u00a0will be held, as well as matches that\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0make the card.\u00a0Given the timing of both Stand & Deliver and WrestleMania this year, this idea is\u00a0good for several reasons.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NXT Revenge is a Filler Until the Week after WrestleMania<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

After Stand & Deliver happens, many wrestlers from NXT get called up to the main roster. They either debut the following Monday on Monday Night Raw or the following Friday on Friday Night SmackDown, leaving NXT fully behind. But with WWE\u2019s schedule this year, that wouldn\u2019t be possible. <\/span><\/p>\n

There are still two weeks to go until WrestleMania. NXT could\u2019ve just continued with business as usual, but that would\u2019ve meant callups<\/a> disappearing for weeks. Doing that would cause speculation and confusion as to who is and isn\u2019t getting called up. <\/span><\/p>\n

NXT Revenge will mostly consist of Stand & Deliver rematches, but the stakes are raised. Sol Ruca and Zaria will be in a Last Woman Standing match. D\u2019Angelo and Vice will go one-on-one with Ethan Page and Jacy Jayne without anyone else. NXT Revenge allows for a natural progression of storylines without disrupting the call-up schedule.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Called Up\u00a0Wrestlers Will Get a Proper Goodbye<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

This year\u2019s post Stand & Deliver schedule is a departure from previous years. The episode after usually brings new challengers and members of the NXT roster. That will still happen, but after NXT Revenge is over. Some might think that coming up after a simple NXT episode is a downgrade from coming up after Stand & Deliver. <\/span><\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not the case at all for some wrestlers. If this truly is the last week of wrestlers like Jayne<\/a>, Page, and Ruca on the brand, they deserve one last chance to perform in the WWE Performance Center. <\/span><\/p>\n

Jayne and Ruca have spent years in NXT, impressing the audience and winning championships. Page, along with Hendry and Saints, were\u00a0stars\u00a0the moment they walked through the door. Allowing for one last appearance at NXT Revenge will be a great thank you for what they did for\u00a0the brand.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

NXT Revenge is a Great Way to Fill the Next Two Weeks<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Many fans wondered what would happen to the wrestlers who would get called up after WrestleMania. With two weeks until their callups at the earliest, NXT was going to have to find something to bridge the gap. Stone announced that something is NXT Revenge. Allowing for those soon to be called up wrestlers to get a final fight against some of their Stand & Deliver opponents while giving them a proper goodbye to NXT is a great thing.<\/span><\/p>\n

If wrestlers like Jayne, Page, and Ruca get called up, the NXT Performance Center audience get one last chance to see them before they debut on Raw or SmackDown. That is the least the brand can do after many years of entertainment put on by them.
