The Night 2 Main Event is more prestigious and is purportedly the real main event.

This card is stacked with matches that should appeal to both casual wrestling fans and pro wrestling marks. Unfortunately, there is only one women’s match on the card, as WWE did reportedly promise six women’s matches with three occurring each night. IYO SKY vs. Asuka vs. Kairi Sane and Giulia (c) vs. Tiffany Stratton for the U.S. Title are possible last-minute additions. Still, the fans should not hold their breath on those because they are dependent on Nikki Bella and even Chelsea Green returning from injury.

Indeed, WWE is considering replacing the Bella Twins from the Fatal Four Way Tag Title Match with Kabuki Warriors, which would jeopardize their potential match with IYO SKY. Also, Stratton teased a future partnership with Chelsea Green that could lead her to an impromptu U.S. Title match against Giulia at Mania, if Green politicks enough backstage with management.

The fact that SKY and Stratton walked in and out of Mania 41 last year as world champions and are not booked on this year’s Mania card is ludicrous.

It is questionable as to why WWE could not just keep the tag title match a triple threat or replace Bella Twins with Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez instead of replacing Bella Twins with Kabuki Warriors, who should be feuding with SKY. It is also questionable as to why the Women’s U.S. Title has never been defended on PPV since its inception. With that being said, it is now time for some foolproof WrestleMania 42 Night 2 Predictions, starting with Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi, which should be an absolute spectacle.

Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi

WWE continuously teased that Oba Femi is the fastest rising star in WWE since Brock Lesnar, and Femi even expressed that he is the “one,” just like Lesnar was the “one” in Undertaker’s broken WrestleMania streak of 21-1 at WrestleMania 30. Since Lesnar is on the brink of retirement and will likely only be in the ring for merely WrestleMania and SummerSlam this year, it is time for him to pass the torch to Oba Femi.

That way, Femi can become the next Beast in WWE for years to come and even create a commemorative WrestleMania streak of his own in honor of The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Furthermore, shaking hands with Femi as a sign of respect after the match would effectively turn Brock babyface before his retirement match against the heel Gunther at SummerSlam.

Prediction: Oba Femi

Penta (c) vs. Rusev vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Rey Mysterio – 6-Way Intercontinental Title Ladder Match

This Intercontinental Title Ladder Match will be a major spot-fest with high-octane offense and daredevil aerial maneuvers. Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, and Rusev have no chance in hell of winning this match, as their booking has not been promising due to insufficient momentum and credibility. Rey Mysterio is the dark horse because he could win the title that his son recently lost, but he is too injury-prone to win the title now.

Penta is the runner-up and should solidify his reign after recently winning the title in March, but he can always earn the tag titles with Lee as a consolation prize. By process of elimination, Je’Von Evans is the betting favorite, as he is not injury-prone, has promising booking, and has no backup plan other than bouncing his way to his very first title in WWE.

Prediction: Je’Von Evans

Sami Zayn (c) vs. Trick Williams – United States Title Match

As they did with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton by introducing Pat McAfee, WWE tried to introduce Lil Yachty in this feud as a mechanism to garner heel heat for Trick Williams and babyface sympathy for Sami Zayn. Since that did not work, Sami Zayn and Trick Williams are reportedly being considered for a Double Turn at ‘Mania 42. This is a genius pivot because Zayn is being booed as a babyface and Trick is being cheered as a heel.

At the beginning of their promo battle series, Zayn expressed that he wants to humble the upstart. Although KFC is expecting Trick to get pushed to the moon, WWE can stretch this out into a trilogy with Zayn nefariously winning here as a heel, garnering sympathy for Trick as a humbled face in a redemption arc to winning the U.S. Title in the summer.

Prediction: Sami Zayn

The “Demon” Finn Balor vs. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio

Finn Balor and Dirty Dom have had this Judgment Day dissension storyline stretch for so long that it would have been criminal if it had not been booked for Mania. When Balor last unleashed the Demon, he was robbed of a victory over Edge at ‘Mania 39 that would have solidified his leadership of the Judgment Day.

The Demon was buried that night. Now that he is unleashing the Demon after three long years, he must win to solidify his departure from the Judgment Day.

Balor elevated everyone around him in that group and needs to break away to pursue his own self-interests in the main event scene after only holding the world title for 24 hours back in 2016. Meanwhile, Dom can eat the loss here and still win MITB in September to advance to the main event scene.

Prediction: Finn Balor

Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – WWE Women’s Title Match

Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley started this feud off cold with a promo battle about muscles and even stealing each other’s lines and catchphrases. However, it got more interesting when Cargill created a new faction with Michin and B-Fab. It would be completely asinine if Cargill created that faction just to lose to Rhea, who already had three major WrestleMania moments in her career against Asuka, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch and does not need this win.

In fact, Jade Cargill needs to solidify her title reign with a victory over a former World Champion like Ripley so that there are more mega stars at the top of the card. Also, a post-match Bianca Belair return is likely here, and Cargill still has unfinished business with Belair that should have the title on the line on the road to SummerSlam.

Prediction: Jade Cargill

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="6dfbdbe8ed6ff2eb8f8e8ee3c2cef8f4" image-id="wennRDBenlv7" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 3000px; aspect-ratio: 3000/2400;" ></smartframe-embed>

CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns – World Heavyweight Title Match

Roman Reigns envied CM Punk for having a strong connection with the fans. WWE can manufacture and control the narrative with Reigns, but they cannot do the same with Punk.

The reason the fans connect with Punk so well is that his arduous journey to the top felt humane, authentic, and relatable. Meanwhile, Punk envied Reigns for being a part of a familial dynasty that granted him the privilege of main eventing over 10 WrestleManias and being a multi-time World Champion for over 1000 days in record time.

After this revelation, Punk could turn heel. Punk is jealous that The Bloodline always helps Reigns with everything. But what if Bloodline screws Reigns here? What if The Rock screws Roman Reigns for disgracing the Bloodline after losing the title to Cody Rhodes?

What if The Rock helps CM Punk as consolation for ending his 434-day title reign at Royal Rumble 2013 and taking away his WrestleMania main event at WrestleMania 29, which was the last Mania Punk competed in before leaving WWE for 10 years?

This would not only set up a marquee retirement dream match between Roman Reigns and The Rock at Mania 43 next year but also allow Punk to continue as a fighting champion and elevate rising talent, like future King of the Ring Winner, Oba Femi, at SummerSlam, instead of elevating an already established part-time wrestler in Roman Reigns.

That World Heavyweight Title was initially created in defiance of Reigns’ burying talent for three years straight. It would destroy the prestige of the title if Reigns held it. Punk must win and retain.

Prediction: CM Punk

If you’re not down with just that and would like even more WWE PLE Coverage from Mark Justice, check out more of his articles right here on LWOS and subscribe to his popular YouTube channel by clicking HERE.

WrestleMania 42 Sunday Predictions are here for April 19, 2026, live on ESPN Unlimited, at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
