WWE has put together its big main event programs, and they are in full swing as we march towards Las Vegas. It has been a rather rough road as the injury bug has hit WWE hard, putting them in a corner and forcing some changes to their big matches. Still, they have done a great job of putting together a captivating card, and they do have an ace up their sleeve.

Heading into WrestleMania, there are a few surprises that could happen. WWE is always known to hold things pretty close to the vest, and there is potential for some incredible returns. There are rumors of wrestlers who are ready to make a comeback, return to their former glory, or break into the company for the first time. Which of these returns is the most likely to happen? Let’s take a look at some strong contenders for a surprise return at WrestleMania.

Bianca Belair

We are going to keep banging this drum until it speaks itself into existence. It has been nearly a year since we have seen the EST of WWE, and the hope is that her drought will end soon. Her last match was the amazing triple threat match that stole the show at WrestleMania 41. In it, she injured her hand, and that calamity has kept her out of action ever since.

The comeback trail has been a hard one for Belair, but she has been making progress. She has been seen taking some light contact, but will not be ready to compete at WrestleMania 42. That doesn’t mean that WWE shouldn’t be bringing her to Las Vegas, even having Belair confront the winner of either Women’s Championship match.

She would be the perfect first challenger for either winner, but more importantly, would be the perfect one to stand across from Jade Cargill. Considering their history, this would be spot on, and WrestleMania would be the best place to reignite this program.

Bron Breakker

A plague of injuries has affected the layout of the WrestleMania card, the biggest of which was that upstart Bron Breakker was forced out with a hernia. It’s a huge blow to one of the bigger programs headed into WrestleMania, but it could be rectified shortly. Breakker was deep into a program that would have him going to war with Seth Rollins in Las Vegas, and that potentially could get started back up soon.

Bron Breakker has been seen working out at WWE’s Performance Center, signaling that a return to action could be imminent. In the meantime, Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins have been doing an admirable job of keeping interest focused on themselves, but this program is heading for a Rollins and Breakker showdown.

It would behoove WWE to keep the mystery alive a little while longer and save Breakker’s surprise return for WrestleMania, setting up the showdown between student and teacher. As of Raw, it was announced that Gunther and Rollins will be facing one another at WrestleMania, but that will make the surprise of Breakker returning that much better.

The Rock

The Final Boss has been in and out of WWE for the past couple of years, usually making his presence known when the lights are at their brightest. They don’t get much brighter than WrestleMania, and there is a storyline that is ready for him to insert himself into.

<smartframe-embed class="smartframe_wp_element" customer-id="b0c95bc04383cef69c6b47df872135cf" image-id="WmOBilgFuzCI" style="width: 100%; display: inline-flex; max-width: 4000px; aspect-ratio: 4000/2667;" ></smartframe-embed>

Roman Reigns and CM Punk have touched on their history throughout the years, a history that included The Rock. He has been closely associated with both me and getting physical with both during his tenure. It would make sense for him to return to WWE in time to cost the World Heavyweight Championship for either Reigns or Punk. Both would make sense, but costing Roman Reigns would set up the showdown that has been years in the making.

Paige

Paige is another wrestler who will keep getting mentions of a return until it happens. Her WWE career started with a bang, becoming the NXT Women’s Champion and Divas Champion. She was a fan favorite and was involved in some of the best storylines of her WWE tenure. Injuries cut her WWE time short, but she had cobbled together an impressive resume outside of WWE. A resume that has maintained her popularity all over the world.

There is nothing out there saying she is on her way back to WWE, but Paige has expressed a desire to return to the company that helped launch her career. She is healthy and ready to go, and WWE is known to play things close to the vest. WrestleMania has been the platform for iconic returns, and Paige’s return would be a great addition to the card. She has a history with many of the women competing at WrestleMania and could attack any of them.

We are well down the Road to WWE WrestleMania 42.
