{"id":15552,"date":"2018-03-17T09:18:14","date_gmt":"2018-03-17T13:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/?p=15552"},"modified":"2018-03-17T09:18:14","modified_gmt":"2018-03-17T13:18:14","slug":"preview-ott-contenders-7-supershow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2018\/03\/17\/preview-ott-contenders-7-supershow\/","title":{"rendered":"Preview: OTT Contenders 7 Supershow (3\/18\/18)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Contenders 7<\/strong><\/em> was already a packed show featuring the fit members of\u00a0<strong>CCK\u00a0<\/strong>and the debut of the latest star to come from the Australian wrestling scene\u00a0<strong>Jonah Rock<\/strong>.\u00a0 The card only got more action-packed when OTT, unfortunately,\u00a0had to cancel <em><strong>Outer Space Odyssey 4<\/strong><\/em> meaning\u00a0we get two matches that have been salvaged from the storm.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Match 1: Jonah Rock vs Terry Thatcher<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15651\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15651\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15651 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/03\/DXxmLwPX0AA7PRv-e1521292346123.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"317\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15651\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: OTT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Ever since making his\u00a0<strong>Pro Wrestling Guerrilla\u00a0<\/strong>debut at their annual super indie tournament\u00a0<strong>Battle Of Los Angeles<\/strong>, \u00a0Rock has only gone from strength to strength. \u00a0A member of\u00a0<strong>The Mighty Don&#8217;t\u00a0Kneel<\/strong>,\u00a0he has a build of a slightly taller\u00a0<strong>Tomohiro Ishii\u00a0<\/strong>and wrestles a great power based style.\u00a0 He is also very agile and athletic.\u00a0 He takes on Terry Thatcher, who is coming off his best performance ever against\u00a0<strong>Eddie Stone.\u00a0 <\/strong>He fought hard against the Mongrels member and pulled some surprising\u00a0tricks out of his sleeve.\u00a0 He completely won over the OTT fans, who will be behind him here against such a big challenge.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Predictions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em>Jonah Rock to win<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Match 2: Travis Banks vs Scotty Davis<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15650\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15650\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15650 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/03\/DXxmLwPX0AEItUQ-e1521292407616.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"317\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15650\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: OTT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Kiwi Buzzsaw takes on the Supreme Suplex Machine.\u00a0 As we saw in his match against\u00a0<strong>Zack Sabre Junior,\u00a0<\/strong>Banks is no stranger to mat wrestling.\u00a0 This will come in handy against<strong> Legit 100&#8217;s\u00a0<\/strong>&#8220;shooter&#8221;.\u00a0 Ever since debuting, Davis has proven time and time again that he is one of the country&#8217;s best grapplers.\u00a0 This will be great preparation for his match against\u00a0<strong>Mark Haskins\u00a0<\/strong>at <em><strong>Martina&#8217;s Gaff\u00a0Party<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0 PROGRESS World Champion vs one of Ireland&#8217;s best and if that doesn&#8217;t sell you on this match, I don&#8217;t know what will.\u00a0 These two are primed to tear the house down and steal the show.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Predictions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em>Travis Banks to win<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Match 3: Legit 100 (Michael May &amp; Curtis Murray) vs More Than Hype ( Darren Kearney &amp; Nathan Martin)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15655\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15655\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15655 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/03\/DYaVy9bX4AEPS-f-e1521292435623.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"316\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15655\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: OTT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Two of the three Contenders factions clash here, there is a whole lot at stake in this match.\u00a0 Striking the first blow in the inevitable war, ego, bragging rights and pride are all on the line.\u00a0 As MTH are quick to remind\u00a0everyone, Legit 100 were put together &#8211; this will put them at a disadvantage as May and Murray still need time to gel as a team.\u00a0 Kearney and Martin will have no such issue.\u00a0 The best friends were tag\u00a0partners long before the formation of Legit 100.\u00a0 Will this be enough for them to beat the man that beat\u00a0<strong>Joe Coffey\u00a0<\/strong>and the Aviator?\u00a0 It&#8217;s hard to pick a winner here.\u00a0 All I can say is that this will be another showcase of just how good these young men are.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Predictions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em>Legit 100 to win?<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Match 4: Big Daddy Cool, B. Cool &amp; I.M Cool vs Elektro, Angel Cruz &amp; Rick W\/Peter<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15652\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15652\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15652 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/03\/DXxmc8ZX4AAbf48-e1521292471407.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"317\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15652\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: OTT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>One of the two matches that OTT salvage from the storm.\u00a0 While there was disappointment over not seeing Martina vs\u00a0<strong>Pete Dunne\u00a0<\/strong>fans were absolutely distraught\u00a0at the thought of not getting to see Elektro.\u00a0 I already previewed this match for OSO4 and nothing has changed but the date.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Predictions:\u00a0<\/strong>Big Daddy Cool, I.M Cool &amp; B.Cool to win<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Match 5: Gender Neutral Championship Match: Session Moth Martina (c) vs Chris Brookes vs LJ Cleary<\/strong><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15654\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15654\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15654 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/03\/DYaDLbjXcAAamm5-e1521292497670.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"317\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15654\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: OTT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Originally just Martina vs Cleary, the CCK squid was added to make it a Triple Threat.\u00a0 Martina has been fantastic as OTT&#8217;s Gender Neutral Champion.\u00a0 Her charisma and ability to work any style have proved intergender wrestling could be a staple in OTT.\u00a0 Young LJ Cleary would pull off a massive coup if he were to win and become the first of the Contenders generation to claim gold.\u00a0 He&#8217;s had great showings against some tough veterans like\u00a0<strong>Dave Mastiff, Trent Seven\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Kings Of The North<\/strong>.\u00a0 He would not be a bad choice for champion, as he is more than good enough in the ring and his mic skills are almost unmatched by any contender.\u00a0 Brookes is someone that is always a threat.\u00a0 He has had a meteoric rise in the last two years and cemented himself as one of the most recognisable wrestlers in the UK.\u00a0 He always delivers in the ring with his surprising agility for someone so tall, matched with his technical skills.\u00a0 Martina is going to try her best to bring this title to Japan and that motivation could be the difference maker.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Predictions:\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><em>Martina to win and retain<\/em><\/p>\n<h3><b><i>Match 6: Kings Of The North (Damian Corvin &amp; Bonesaw) vs Aussie Open (Mark Davis &amp; Kyle Fletcher)<\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15653\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15653\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15653 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/03\/DYZgINGXkAEHbYe-e1521292527163.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"317\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15653\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: OTT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The second match that was salvaged from the storm.\u00a0 There may be no Devlin or Haskins but we do have two fantastic tag teams.\u00a0\u00a0The Kings are on the road to regaining their titles and what better way to get back on track than facing off with one of the hottest teams in the UK.\u00a0 Aussie Open has been delivering great matches for months with their mix of high spots and power.\u00a0 This is going to be a modern tag team classic with balls to the wall action.
