He made four appearances in 2016 and only worked once last year, teaming with former WWE Superstar <strong>Pierre Carl Ouellette<\/strong> (whom Raven managed in the WWE as <strong>Johnny Polo<\/strong> to WWF Tag Team Champions as <strong>The Quebecers<\/strong>) at an <strong>Xtreme Zone Wrestling (XZW)<\/strong> show in Quebec, Canada\u00a0last October.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15535\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15535\" style=\"width: 374px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15535\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/03\/eb17f1efb1ef15f43b0edd7b7bba7281-e1520866680523.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"374\" height=\"500\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15535\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Raven started out in <strong>CWA<\/strong> in the late 80s, before joining WCW in 1992 as <strong>Scotty Flamingo<\/strong>, where he defeated <strong>Brian Pillman<\/strong> for the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship (the forerunner to WCW&#8217;s Cruiserweight title). He lasted only a year with WCW before heading to the WWF, where he was repackaged as Johnny Polo. He was transitioned to a managerial role, where he guided the Quebecers to WWF Tag Team gold. After a year with the WWF, he headed to ECW in 1995, where he begun his most successful and enduring character, the morose and twisted genius Raven. In his first run, he had one of ECW&#8217;s most iconic rivalries, against <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/prowrestling\/2019\/10\/28\/30-years-of-violence-tommy-dreamer-marks-30-years-as-a-wrestler\/\" target=\"_self\">Tommy Dreamer<\/a>, and captured the ECW World Heavyweight Championship and ECW World Tag Team Championship (with <strong>Stevie Richards<\/strong>) on two occasions.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15533\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15533\" style=\"width: 397px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-15533\" src=\"https:\/\/lwosonprowrestling.ms.lastwordonsports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2018\/03\/daead5abe1raven-e1520866739887.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"500\"><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15533\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: WWE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the summer of 1997, Raven headed to WCW with his entourage, <strong>Raven&#8217;s Flock<\/strong>, where he spent the next three years, winning the WCW United States title, as well as winning WCW World Tag Team gold with <strong>Perry Saturn<\/strong>. Following a feud with another former ECW Original, <strong>Sandman<\/strong> (known as Hak in WCW), he left WCW in 1999 and returned to ECW for another stint before returning the WWE in 2000, this time as his Raven character. In June of 2005, Raven won a King of the Mountain match against <strong>Abyss, AJ Styles, Monty Brown<\/strong> and <strong>Sean Waltman<\/strong> (X-Pac) to become the new NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
