Last week, he came face-to-face with Rusev, who seemed annoyed that Adam Pearce was dismissing him in favor of Femi. Rusev used his time on the 3/2 episode of Raw to address the slight, refusing to leave the ring area until he got Femi face-to-face. Rusev said he was tired of hearing about Femi, and he knew both of them wanted the match, so he was ready for it to happen, right then and there. Of course, if Femi’s “daddy,” Adam Pearce, said it was okay. Femi didn’t need to ask Pearce as he made his way out, and he and Rusev brawled in the ring. Femi got the better of Rusev in the quick exchange, but the bell never rang. It was announced later in the show that Femi and Rusev would go one-on-one on next week’s Raw.

AJ Lee One Step Closer to First Challenger

AJ Lee came out to celebrate her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship victory and made it clear she plans to be a fighting champion. Lee noted it’s been 12 years since she held a title and she doesn’t want to waste a moment of it. The fans believed in her and made her believe in herself that she’s still got it. Now that she’s beaten Becky Lynch, she wants to look forward. Lee issued an open challenge and said the next time she’s in the ring, she’ll be defending her title.

Throughout the show, various women including Raquel Rodriguez, Bayley, and Lyra Valkyria, expressed throwing their hats in the ring to be Lee’s first challenger. There was seemingly so much interest that it was announced Lee wouldn’t defend her title next week. Rather, there would be a #1 contender’s match to determine her first challenger. Those in the gauntlet match were announced: Ivy Nile, Raquel Rodriguez, Bayley, Lyra Valkyria, Asuka, and Iyo Sky. Those six will compete for the chance to face Lee on the WWE Raw card for 3/9.

What Else to Expect on WWE Raw Card?

Dominik Mysterio lost his WWE Intercontinental Championship thanks in part to non-action from Finn Balor, who stopped JD McDonagh from letting Mysterio use the ring hammer. He was also cursed by Danhausen before the match. Mysterio is sure to have issues with the lack of help from his Judgment Day teammates and perhaps even the man who cursed him. Meanwhile, Penta is the new champ, finally winning the title over a year after his debut. Penta will have all eyes on the Road to WrestleMania, but will Mysterio try to derail that, or will someone else step up to face the man without fear?

El Grande Americano Original and El Grande Americano are set to meet at Rey de Reyes on 3/14. Before that, the two might engage again on Raw as they did this week when Los Americanos triple-teamed Original, only to have Rayo lose the match anyway.

Rhea Ripley is headed to SmackDown to face off with her WrestleMania 42 opponent, Jade Cargill. Will Cargill return the favor on Monday and confront Ripley on her turf as well?

Seth Rollins and his masked men returned on Raw to cause more headaches for the Vision, including sending a chairshot into Paul Heyman’s back in a scene reminiscent of Rollins’ breakup of the Shield in the very same arena. Adam Pearce noted Rollins hasn’t been medically cleared, but it seems we’re close to that point.
