The Elimination Chamber isn’t just a match; it\u2019s a grueling, career-altering gauntlet where the heavy price of survival is the only thing standing between a superstar and a guaranteed ticket to the main event of WrestleMania. As we inch closer to the event, the field of competitors is becoming clear, revealing who will have the opportunity to face WWE Undisputed Champion Drew McIntyre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So far, we have Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, and Je\u2019Von Evans, the first competitor ever to enter the structure, who is younger than the match itself. But there is one man perhaps more dangerous than any of the others: Randy Orton.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While the current list of competitors is exciting, the intensity is set to spike with the final two qualifying matches. Tonight on SmackDown, United States Champion Carmelo Hayes faces Damian Priest and his former friend-turned-rival, Trick Williams. Then, on next Monday\u2019s Raw, Bronson Reed takes on Jey Uso and \u201cThe Original\u201d El Grande Americano.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Orton is set to enter the cage for the tenth time, extending his own record for the most appearances inside the formidable steel structure. Trailing him on this historic list are Chris Jericho with eight, John Cena with seven, and Triple H, Kofi Kingston, and Daniel Bryan, all tied with six.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t just his longevity that has cemented \u201cThe Apex Predator\u2019s\u201d legacy inside the \u201cSteel Asylum.\u201d He also ranks second all-time for eliminations, securing eight across his nine appearances, only trailing Jericho, who achieved ten in eight. On February 28, Orton has the chance to not only punch his ticket to a title match but also to break Jericho\u2019s elimination record as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite his experience inside the terrifying structure that is the Elimination Chamber, Orton has remarkably only won the match once. This has created a surge of momentum among fans who are eager to see him win it all once again this year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the stage set for this year’s battle and \u201cThe Viper\u2019s\u201d legendary accolades laid out, it is time to look back and rank his five most iconic performances inside the steel.     Starting things off, we have Randy Orton\u2019s latest appearance inside the Elimination Chamber. This match determined who would move on to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    Alongside Orton, the field included Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, LA Knight, Bobby Lashley, and the reigning United States Champion, Logan Paul.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cThe Apex Predator\u201d entered the contest fifth, making his presence felt immediately by delivering several RKOs. Minutes into the match, Orton began selling a \u201cback injury.\u201d This was a deliberate nod to his real-life history of spinal fusion surgery, which had kept him out of action for 18 months before his return in November 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

    This match saw Orton eliminate two opponents, beginning with Owens. He followed that up with the match\u2019s most memorable moment, a spectacular mid-air RKO to Logan Paul. With the United States Champion gone, it was down to just Orton and McIntyre.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    It appeared Orton was headed for victory after delivering an RKO to McIntyre.       2019 displayed a star-studded lineup as six competitors battled for the WWE Championship. The reigning champion, Daniel Bryan, put his title on the line inside the Elimination Chamber against Kofi Kingston, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, and Randy Orton.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      In this Chamber match, Orton appeared to have a massive advantage as the sixth and final entrant. Historically, however, only six wrestlers have ever won an Elimination Chamber match from that specific position.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Orton\u2019s standout moment occurred quickly when Styles attempted a Phenomenal Forearm from the top of a pod. Orton caught him mid-air with a devastating RKO, eliminating Styles from the match.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      But Orton\u2019s night ended shortly after. While he was stalking Bryan to deliver another RKO, Kingston surprised him with a Trouble in Paradise, pinning Orton and eliminating him from the match.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      Despite not winning, Orton\u2019s highlight-worthy elimination of Styles was a standout moment. By taking out a legendary veteran like Orton, Kofi solidified himself as a true threat to Daniel Bryan, leading to their clash at WrestleMania 35, where Kingston captured the title at the height of \u201cKofiMania.\u201d\u00a0 Orton played his role to perfection, acting as the high-stakes veteran Kofi needed to overcome on his path to the WWE Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

        The 2013 Elimination Chamber match featured six competitors battling for the chance to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania 29.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        The match included Jack Swagger, accompanied by his manager Zeb Colter, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Kane, and Daniel Bryan. Orton entered as the fifth contestant, while Henry entered last as the final man in the matchup.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His first elimination was a triple team effort: a Big Boot from Swagger, followed up by a Codebreaker from Jericho, and finally an RKO from Orton to eliminate \u201cThe World\u2019s Strongest Man,\u201d Mark Henry.<\/span><\/p>\n

        Minutes later, as Orton battled Jericho and Swagger, he secured his second and most significant elimination by catching Jericho with an RKO. But just as things were getting hot for \u201cThe Viper,\u201d the momentum went cold; Swagger immediately rolled him up for the pinfall while Orton was still recovering from the RKO he had just delivered.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

        This match stands out because Orton delivered a masterclass in storytelling and selling, particularly during his brutal collisions with Mark Henry. It remains a fan favorite for his chemistry with Chris Jericho and the shocking, lightning-fast finish that proved Orton could dominate a match even if he didn\u2019t walk away with the win.<\/span><\/p>\n

It featured an incredible lineup competing for the vacant World Heavyweight title, as Randy Orton, Triple H, Batista, Edge, Chris Jericho, and Chris Benoit all battled in the exciting contest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Many argue that this match featured more compelling storylines than any other Elimination Chamber bout in history. The most notable elements were Shawn Michaels as the special guest referee and Orton\u2019s intense rivalry with Triple H following being kicked out of Evolution.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Orton entered the match fifth, focusing much of his energy on Triple H. But the \u201cX-Factor\u201d of this star-studded showcase wasn\u2019t just their rivalry, but rather the brewing tension between Batista and Triple H. In a shocking turn, Orton eliminated Batista by delivering a low blow, which is legal in the Chamber, followed by an RKO.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          Triple H\u2019s decision not to help Batista avoid being eliminated caused further friction within Evolution. As Orton and Triple H battled as the final two, Ric Flair provided a distraction that allowed a recovered Batista to blindside Orton with a clothesline. Triple H immediately followed up with a Pedigree to claim the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

          This performance showcased Orton\u2019s transition from student to a legitimate main-event hero, driven by his intense feud with Evolution. His elimination of Batista and the dramatic final moments of the match with Triple H proved he could hold the crowd\u2019s attention as well as he could execute a perfect RKO.             The 2014 Elimination Chamber match saw \u201cThe Viper\u201d put his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against a daunting field of elite opponents that included John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Sheamus, and Christian. Orton entered as the match\u2019s biggest target, as he occupied the role of \u201cFace of the Company\u201d under The Authority.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
