The Road to WWE WrestleMania 42 is now underway. Now that the Royal Rumble has finished, the wrestling world is getting ready for the next few months of adrenaline-fueled programming. It\u2019s the time of year when WWE shines, and they pull out all the big angles to drum up as much excitement as possible for the Show of Shows.<\/p>\n

With the Royal Rumble being over, we can begin to see WrestleMania\u2019s card take shape. Nothing has been announced yet, but we can infer from how the night in Saudi Arabia went that there are a few matches set in stone. Let\u2019s take a look at how the card will be shaping up for April. 9th<\/sup> and 10th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

World Championship Match: Roman Reigns vs CM Punk <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Big Dog winning the Royal Rumble gives him his choice of champion at WrestleMania, and it would appear as if CM Punk will be that champion.<\/p>\n

Roman Reigns and CM Punk have oodles of history, and a built-in story that even the worst of bookers couldn\u2019t fumble. They are both former Paul Heyman Guys and have been at odds with one another since CM Punk came back to World Wrestling Entertainment. For the most part, this has been a heel versus babyface dynamic, but headed into WrestleMania, we will see something more interesting.<\/p>\n

CM Punk and Roman Reigns are in prime babyface mode, and that\u2019s going to prove interesting going forward. Sure, we are going to see some heel tendencies here, but the crowd is going to be split, and you can believe that both men will play off this. CM Punk defending the World Championship against Roman Reigns is the marquee match that needs to be the main event on night two.<\/p>\n

Of course, this has already been confirmed on the Raw after the Rumble. Now, we speculate, is day one or day two? Reigns is one of the biggest stars in WWE History, going up against this generation’s “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, we predict without a doubt it will be on night two. As far as stipulation goes, take your pick of the litter: No Holds Barred, a Street Fight, a Steel Cage, or maybe this is the match WWE brings back the Hell in a Cell.<\/p>\n

Regardless, Punk vs. Reigns more than likely will be the very final match of the two-day spectacular.<\/p>\n

WWE Championship Match: Drew McIntyre vs Cody Rhodes vs Jacob Fatu <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The issues between these three men have been going on for a few months, and if the Royal Rumble tells us anything, it\u2019s that they are going to war at WrestleMania.<\/p>\n

Everything started with Jacob Fatu being put on the shelf at the hands of a mystery attacker. An angle that hasn\u2019t been resolved, and one that has led him to get physical with both Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes. That led to Fatu costing Rhodes the WWE Championship, essentially handing it to Drew McIntyre. Some issues are far from resolved and should lead to Jacob being included in the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania.<\/p>\n

Outside of Jacob Fatu, Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes have their share of problems. McIntyre has been insufferable since winning the WWE Championship and has thwarted Rhodes’ attempts to get back in the title picture, going so far as to ensure his elimination at the Royal Rumble. Showing that the problems between these two men are far from over.<\/p>\n

The title picture over on SmackDown is a convoluted mess, and the only way to solve it is to put these men in a triple threat at WrestleMania. It could steal the show in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi <\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Royal Rumble has a history of previewing potential WrestleMania matchups, and the most intriguing one coming out of Saturday is The Beast\u2019s showdown with The Ruler. When Lesnar and Femi squared off, the crowd came to its feet, and hopefully, WWE saw the possibilities.<\/p>\n

Brock Lesnar taking on Oba Femi is perfect for WrestleMania. They are both incredibly physically imposing individuals who rely on their strength. They are huge attractions, and it would look amazing to have them standing side by side. We got just a tease of that at the Royal Rumble, and hopefully that means we are headed to something a bit toothier at \u2018Mania.<\/p>\n

Alexa Bliss vs Charlotte Flair <\/strong><\/h2>\n

T<\/b>his is another angle that has been building momentum for a while now, but the Royal Rumble took it to the next level. These two women started in an impromptu tag team that had great chemistry, won some titles, and became a launching pad for the revived popularity of Charlotte Flair. However, it was only a matter of time before these two would implode, and at the Royal Rumble, that implosion started.<\/p>\n

When Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss were announced as the number one and two entrants, we knew that something was going to go down. They worked as a team for a while, but an errant kick from Flair eliminated Bliss, and thus the rivalry was born. There is no way that this mistake isn\u2019t going to lead to dissension between the two and a WrestleMania grudge match.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Tag Team Championship Match: Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY vs The Bella Twins <\/strong><\/h2>\n

WWE is going to want to book a big-time match for the Women\u2019s Tag Straps. They are a championship that hasn\u2019t received the love these past few years, so making a featured match surrounding the titles would be a huge move. The best possible version that WWE can give us would be the current champions taking on twin magic in a battle of past and present stars.<\/p>\n

Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY have been great as the tag champions, showing a chemistry that other teams can only dream of having. As great as their chemistry is, it wouldn\u2019t be a match for two women who have spent their entire lives around one another.<\/p>\n

With Brie Bella returning at the Royal Rumble, it can only be assumed that she and her sister are going to be paired up. Nikki Bella won\u2019t have much else to do, and she and her sister chasing the tag championships is the perfect idea. It\u2019s a championship that they never got the chance to hold with Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY giving them the ideal opponents. The build could be legendary, and this could be a marquee match on either night of WrestleMania.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s World Championship Match: Stephanie Vaquer vs Liv Morgan <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Now that the Philly Street Fight is over, we can safely say that Liv Morgan is going to be challenging Stephanie Vaquer at WrestleMania. It\u2019s the best possible option for the Raw’s Championship, and it gives us a traditional babyface versus heel program. A program that is going to focus heavily on the mean girl persona that Liv Morgan has cultivated over the past few years.<\/p>\n

Morgan winning the Royal Rumble was a well-deserved nod for the work that she has put in, and this feud will have fireworks before too long. Stephanie Vaquer has some work to do on the microphone, and Liv Morgan will help to create the heat needed for each segment.<\/p>\n

These are the two biggest names on Raw, and they deserve to be in the penultimate program. Both women are fantastic wrestlers and share similar styles, so their match will no doubt be one of the highlights of WrestleMania.<\/p>\n

WWE Women\u2019s Championship Match: Jade Cargill vs Bianca Belair <\/strong><\/h2>\n

We will continue to beat this drum until it comes true. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargil are the only matchup that WWE needs to put together for WrestleMania. It\u2019s a perfect story to tell with both women being linked since Cargill debuted in WWE.<\/p>\n

They functioned well as a tag team, and when the mystery attacker angle hit, it appeared as if Belair was the culprit for some time. That built tension between the two, and it’s that tension that will make this an instant success as a program.<\/p>\n

Belair and Cargill would match up incredibly well. Both women work a powerful style, which should give us a tremendous war of attrition. This won\u2019t be a wrestling match but a straight-up fight where the winner is the one who merely survives. Their long history alone demands that this match be saved for the brightest of stages. There is none more colorful than WrestleMania.<\/p>\n
