2K Games announced the Attitude Era edition of WWE 2K26 during the January 23 broadcast of SmackDown. The trailer featured no gameplay and showcased the stars that will grace the cover of this year’s game. However, some fans have noticed a mistake on the cover art.<\/p>\n

Chief Content Officer and 14-time World Champion Triple H was a major star during the Attitude Era and deserves his place on the cover. Despite this, 2K has used a questionable image of The Game that doesn’t align with the Attitude Era theme.<\/p>\n

Triple H can be seen doing his iconic water spit pose. He is wearing the World Heavyweight Championship. The title was introduced in September 2002, during the early portion of the Ruthless Aggression Era. The championship was based on the WCW Big Gold Belt, which did appear during the Attitude Era after the 2001 acquisition of World Championship Wrestling.<\/p>\n

Although many fans disagree, the Attitude Era did officially end in May 2002 when the WWF rebranded to WWE. Therefore, Triple H did technically hold that belt for two weeks. The Game did, however, win two championships, unlike the image on the 2K cover.<\/p>\n
