McMahon got the WWE Universe in Canada fired up by asking, “Are You Ready?” The crowd exploded as WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is now underway.

Cody Rhodes vs. Jacob Fatu

To kick off the night, we see Jacob Fatu marching to the ring all fired up, saying he’ll destroy Cody Rhodes tonight, as WWE SNME XLIII begins with a heated grudge match between the two. Cody Rhodes made his entrance to an electric Montreal crowd.

Once he scaled the ropes, with ring jacket still intact, Fatu would strike immediately. The bell hadn’t even rang, and these two were throwing bombs at one another, even nailing WWE official Charles Robinson.

Security tried to pull them apart, but Fatu would assault every breathing man he could. Jacob would climb the ropes and execute a Double Jump Front Flip Senton to the outside on Rhodes and the WWE officials. These two brawled around the Bell Centre, with Rhodes leveling Fatu with a Suicide Dive.

Fatu and Rhodes weren’t done, and again, the match had not started officially, and these two brawled into the crowd, a sea of bodies followed them around the arena. It was absolute chaos as the two even reached the concession stands, with Fatu putting security through a table with a Uranage and Rhodes throwing a drink into Fatu’s face.

They fought back into the arena, where they brutalized each other and the security that was trying to keep them apart. Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre would come out of nowhere, sending Fatu through a table and giving Rhodes a low blow. McIntyre would then Powerbomb Cody through a table and gloat to end this chaotic scene.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley caught up with Drew McIntyre, asking for an explanation. McIntyre would keep it short; that was a statement, and whoever threatens his reign as Undisputed WWE Champion will get the same treatment.

During the break, we got more news about WWE 2K26.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

For the first title defense since winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY, collectively known as Team RHIYO, defend the championships against Roxanne Perez and Liv Morgan of the Judgment Day in the first official match of the night. Perez and Morgan came out swinging, immediately isolating IYO SKY from her partner.

Even when Ripley got her opportunity to participate in the match, Liv and Roxanne had a gameplan to ground the Eradicator with relentless offense. Morgan would hit a Codebreaker and immediately cover Ripley. Rhea would kick out, frustrating Morgan, which led to Liv getting hit by a Razor’s Edge via Ripley, then a Missile Dropkick from IYO.

Morgan was down for the count, but Perez would break up the count, saving the match for The Judgment Day. Perez would then nail Ripley with a Head Scissors, sending her to the outside. SKY would execute a Springboard Dropkick to Perez, then turn her focus to Morgan.

Liv could not put IYO away. Perez would try her hand at finishing this thing, countering an Over the Moonsault, as well as hitting Pop Rocks. SKY could not kick out. Fortunately, Ripley was there for the save. Ripley would hit a Headbutt, then a Riptide, followed by an Over the Moonsault. SKY and Ripley had this won, but Raquel Rodriguez would pull Ripley’s feet, leading to her falling on the official.

Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer would even the odds, brawling with Rodriguez and taking her over the equation. Back in the ring, everyone was down, including the referee. Perez would crawl to a fallen SKY, covering her with one arm. SKY would not die, getting a shoulder up.

Morgan would hit SKY with Oblivion, but what she didn’t know was that Ripley made a blind tag, making her the legal competitor. Ripley would hoist up Morgan for a Riptide, pinning her, as RHIYO retains the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

In a WrestleMania 34 rematch, Shinsuke Nakamura challenges AJ Styles to prove he is still “Phenomenal” as they go at it one more time. The former leaders of CHAOS and Bullet Club went at it, with Nakamura pulling off his brand of Strong Style to combat the aerial majestry of Styles. In the early part of the match, Nakamura would taunt Styles to wake him up, laying his head on Styles’ chest and urging him to “Come on!”

That would light a fire under Styles, and the two went at it full speed. The turning point of the match came when Styles would catch Nak with a Calf Crusher, with Nakamura being able to reach the bottom rope to break up the submission. Styles would not relent, locking him in for an extended period of time in the Calf Crusher once again.

Nakamura would turn that hold into a Cross Armbreaker, but Shin could not get the full extension. Instead, Nakamura would lock in a Triangle Choke. Styles would hoist him up and set him for the Styles Clash, but couldn’t execute it. Nak would throw a Roundhouse Kick, Styles would duck, and catch Nakamura with a Kinshasa-like rocket of a knee.

Nakamura would not go down easily, managing to get up from that and hitting Styles with a Kinshasa in the back of the head. The knee was bothering Nakamura, and he couldn’t make a cover. Instead, he waited in the corner, looking to hit another Kinshasa, but his leg would give out.

They continued to hit each other with everything they got. Despite his knee bothering him, Nakamura once again went for an Armbar. Styles would lock his fingers together and try to counter into another Styles Clash. Shinsuke would get out of it once again and hit him with a Kinshasa.

Nakamura wanted to go nuclear, once again going for another Kinhasa. Still, Styles would get out of the way and hit a Phenomenal Forearm, followed up by Styles Clash to beat Nakamura, in an instant classic that far surpassed their battle at WrestleMania 34. The two shared a hug and showed each other respect in what could be their final match together.

Undisputed WWE Championship – #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match

For this Saturday Night’s Main Event, it’s a Fatal 4-Way Match pitting Randy Orton, Damian Priest, Trick Williams, and Sami Zayn, with the winner going on to the Royal Rumble to challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship in Riyadh. It was a human demolition derby from beginning to end, and it was just what everyone wanted out of these four men.

Orton, early in the match, tried to go for the home run on Trick Williams, threatening him with an RKO. Trick would circle the ring, allowing these three men to fight it among themselves. Zayn fought like a man possessed tonight, but it seemed like Trick Williams was there to crush his dreams at every turn. However, in front of his home country, Zayn could not be denied.

Zayn put the pedal to the metal, finally hitting the Helluva Kick to secure an Undisputed WWE Championship Match at the Royal Rumble against Drew McIntyre. The champion stormed the ring and tried to assault Zayn, but Sami was so fired up that he scared off McIntyre, leading to the champion high-tailing it out of the Bell Centre and allowing Zayn to bask in his main event win to end the night.

That’s all for REAL-TIME WWE SNME XLIII results for January 24, 2026, as they happen live in Montreal, Canada.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling<amp-ad data-block-on-consent="" width="300" height="600" layout="fixed" data-multi-size="300x250,300x600" data-multi-size-validation="false" type="doubleclick" data-slot="/15188745,22512265771/FS-lastwordonsports-AMP/AMP-2" data-enable-refresh="30" data-lazy-fetch="true" data-loading-strategy="1.25" rtc-config="{ "vendors": { "t13": { "TAG_ID": "4f799893-5665-4629-b0fc-8b97d3569fd6", "ACCOUNT_ID": "9a3c6c23-453a-4cba-b419-30b908f39a50" }, "aps": { "PUB_ID": "600", "PUB_UUID": "16268e26-dabe-4bf4-a28f-b8f4ee192ed3", "PARAMS": { "amp": "1" } }, "criteo": { "NETWORK_ID": "4905", "ZONE_ID": "1382491", "PUBLISHER_SUB_ID": "FS-lastwordonsports-AMP-2" }, "medianet": { "CID": "8CU8ZT2C4" } } }"></amp-ad>

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event (SNME) XLIII results and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
