Shelby thought he had things under control with Kane and his tag team partner Daniel Bryan, the reigning WWE Tag Team Champions at the time. Team Hell No retained their belts against Team Rhodes Scholars at Royal Rumble 2013, and they were both scheduled to appear in the Rumble Match later that night.

Daniel Bryan came out at #21 while Kane joined the match a few moments later, at #24. Less than two minutes after Kane entered the ring, his own tag team partner had already eliminated him! The same can be said about Kane’s performance in the 2014 Royal Rumble Match.

For the third time in his career, Kane didn’t even last two minutes in the Rumble. This time, it wasn’t to set up a WrestleMania match or because he was in a super entertaining tag team with Daniel Bryan. Kane’s one-minute elimination was used to set up a Triple H/CM Punk WrestleMania XXX clash that never happened because Punk left WWE the next night.

Sure, Kane was no longer a main eventer, but he was still one of the biggest names that competed in that match.
