Seven women have won the women’s Royal Rumble match, and in 2025, history was made when a repeat winner was crowned for the first time. However, some women’s Royal Rumble match winners were outstanding, and others’ victories don’t hold up well.

7. Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey marked her return to WWE from maternity leave in the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match. “The Baddest Woman on the Planet” entered the Rumble as the 28th entrant, and she was a woman on a mission. However, the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match is arguably the worst women’s Royal Rumble match.

Rousey, competing in her first match in three years, shook off some ring rust and was dominant. Nikki A.S.H., Brie Bella, and Shotzi’s hopes of winning the Rumble were dashed by Rousey. However, Rousey and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair were the final two, slugging it out. Inevitably, Rousey got the better of Flair to win the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match, punching her ticket to a world title match at WrestleMania 38.

6. Asuka

“The Empress of Tomorrow,” Asuka, featured in the historic first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match in 2018. She drew number 25, and she had her sights set on winning. However, Asuka boasted an unbeaten streak that she could rely upon to get her over the line when the going gets tough.

Asuka removed Ember Moon from the Rumble, and she combined with several other competitors to eliminate Nia Jax from the Rumble. However, Asuka and Nikki Bella were the final two. The Fearless One made a one-off appearance in the women’s Royal Rumble match, and her winning the Rumble would’ve been a shock. Nevertheless, Asuka etched her name in the history books as the inaugural winner of the women’s Royal Rumble match.

5. Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch didn’t intend to compete in the 2019 women’s Royal Rumble match. The Man challenged Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in the curtain-raiser, but she failed to regain the title. However, Lynch, desperate to get back into the title picture, figured it out by replacing Lana, who was unable to compete after being attacked by Nia Jax. Lynch, licking her lips, wasn’t going to let this opportunity pass her by.

The Man eliminated the woman who broke her nose, Nia Jax, from the Rumble. Lynch and her former best friend, Charlotte Flair, were the final two competing to book their spot in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

The Queen was bidding to win the Rumble at the first attempt, as she was the SmackDown Women’s Champion in the previous year’s edition. Nevertheless, Lynch turned a night from major disappointment into joy by outlasting Flair to win the Rumble.

4. Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair had a strong showing in her debut women’s Royal Rumble match in 2020 by eliminating a joint-record eight wrestlers. A year later, the EST of WWE entered the 2021 women’s Royal Rumble match as the third participant. Belair’s endurance was put to the test, but she relished the challenge ahead of her.

Belair was one of the favorites to win the Rumble, and she lived up to her favorites’ tag with a stellar performance. She eliminated her rival and number one entrant, Bayley, prematurely from the Rumble, and Belair prevented Charlotte Flair from winning back-to-back Rumbles.

However, Belair and Rhea Ripley, touted to be the next two big stars in the women’s division, showcased a glimpse of a future WrestleMania main event. Both women gave it their all, throwing the kitchen sink at each other, but Belair triumphed, enduring just under 57 minutes.

3. Charlotte Flair

Many wrestling fans are sick and tired of Charlotte Flair constantly featuring in the world title picture, but there’s no doubt that she’s the GOAT. The Queen participated in the 2020 women’s Royal Rumble match in a bid to reclaim her throne. Entering 17th, she eliminated Bianca Belair, Sarah Logan, Kelly Kelly, and curtailed Shayna Baszler’s dominance to win the women’s Royal Rumble match for the first time.

Photo Credit: By Diego Serrano – WWE Royal Rumble 2025, CC BY 2.0,

Five years later, Flair competed in the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble match, coming off the back of an ACL injury that ruled her out of action for 13 months. The Queen serenely made her presence felt from the lucky 27 spot.

Flair was the overwhelming favorite to get the job done. Just like her 2020 triumph, she managed to eliminate four wrestlers, lastly eliminating Iron Woman Roxanne Perez to become the first woman to win multiple women’s Royal Rumble matches.

2. Rhea Ripley

Joining The Judgment Day was the best thing to happen to Rhea Ripley’s WWE career. The Nightmare’s presentation changed overnight as a major star. Ripley cemented her dominance by entering the 2023 women’s Royal Rumble match from the unenviable number one spot. However, Ripley excelled, and she was perfectly suited to be put into that role.

Ripley tore through the field with little bother. B-Fab, Chelsea Green, Nia Jax, Michelle McCool, and Nikki Cross were some of her victims. Ripley and Liv Morgan, with whom she has had a history with were battling it out to win the Rumble.

Ripley eliminated Morgan to become the first woman to win the Rumble from the number one spot. However, Ripley deserved the victory, and she broke the record for the longest time spent by a woman in a Royal Rumble match by lasting one hour, one minute, and eight seconds.

1. Bayley

Arguably, the most emotional victory in a women’s Royal Rumble match is Bayley’s. The leader of Damage CTRL has had to be incredibly patient since she returned from her ACL injury at SummerSlam 2022 to get back into the winner’s circle. However, the Role Model entered third, but she had backup in the form of the WWE Tag Team Champions IYO SKY and Dakota Kai, part of her Damage CTRL stable.

Nothing was going to halt Bayley from prevailing in the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match. Her performance was nothing short of extraordinary. Furthermore, Belair stopped her from winning the Raw Women’s Championship in 2022, but Bayley quashed her hopes of winning multiple women’s Royal Rumble matches by eliminating her.

Ultimately, the Role Model lastly dumped Liv Morgan out of the women’s Royal Rumble match to win the Rumble for the first time. Bayley’s victory was fantastic as she eclipsed Ripley’s record by enduring one hour, three minutes, and three seconds.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WikiMedia Creative Commons – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on WWE Royal Rumble and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
