WWE legend “Stone Cold” Steve Austin recently commented on one of the most burning questions among wrestling fans: Is he open to returning for one more match? According to the “Texas Rattlesnake,” the answer is probably not, but never say never.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Austin had a chat with Chris Van Vliet<\/a>, where he was asked about the possibility of him returning to the ring for one more match. During the interview, Van Vliet said to Austin, \u201cYou look like you could still go,\u201d and the former WWE Champion replied by saying, \u201cI could. God dang it.” However, Austin is extremely hesitant about returning to the ring, as he underwent knee replacement surgery last year.<\/p>\n While Austin still thinks he could have another match, he made sure to say that he’s not advocating for anything or trying to sell the idea of one more match.<\/p>\n \u201cBut I could still do it, and I\u2019m not advocating for nothing, so I\u2019m not selling a match here, Chris,\u201d said Austin. \u201cBut you asked me, could I? Yes.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Van Vliet then went on to ask the natural follow-up question: “Would you?”<\/p>\n Austin replied by saying,<\/p>\n “Probably not. I\u2019ll say that, but you never say never.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The WWE legend then went on to reminisce about his match with Kevin Owens back at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, which was his first match in nearly 20 years. Austin went on to praise Owens and call him a future WWE Hall of Famer, while adding that he only wishes that he could’ve had a match with Owens back when he was in his prime.<\/p>\n \u201cI just wish that he could have been in the ring with me when I was really going full speed and had my timing because he\u2019s a great worker and I really like him a lot,\u201d Austin said. \u201cI wish he would have got a chance to experience me when I was in my prime because that would have been a great contest.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Even though Austin was no longer in his prime during his match with Owens, it was quite clear that he could still perform at a high level. In the end, WWE decided to have the “Texas Rattlesnake” go over in what could end up being his final match.<\/p>\n As of this writing, WWE hasn’t teased or advertised Steve Austin for WrestleMania 42, so fans probably shouldn’t expect the WWE Hall of Famer to return to the ring this year.
