With Cena finishing up his retirement tour, it makes fans think who else deserves one to close their career. Here are five WWE superstars who deserve their own retirement tour.

AJ Styles

AJ Styles made it clear that he will retire from wrestling in 2026. Styles is still under contract with WWE as he is one-half of the World Tag Team Champions alongside Dragon Lee.

While AJ Styles still competes, fans suspect whether he will receive a swan song tour, much like John Cena. Styles can set his sights on other goals before he steps away. For starters, he can challenge someone he’s never worked with in a singles bout.

For the first time in a WWE ring, AJ Styles can face CM Punk, another wrestler with a parallel career. These men are no strangers to each other, as they have a history dating back over 20 years at Ring of Honor. WWE can have AJ challenge Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, a title Styles has never won before.

Aside from CM Punk as AJ’s dream opponent in WWE, he would also like to work one more time in TNA. Now that WWE and TNA are partnered with each other, it’s likely that fans can see AJ make one more appearance at the company he helped build from the ground up.

Styles and Lee could join up with Mike Santana in TNA to combat the NXT talent who cost Santana the TNA title in the first place. Throughout his retirement tour, Styles should face anyone he wants, whether it’s past rivals or younger talent he’s been adamant about facing.

CM Punk

Ever since CM Punk made his return in 2023, he has proven that he can still wrestle. Although CM Punk is RAW’s top babyface and World Heavyweight Champion, it’s unclear how long CM Punk wants to go as an in-ring performer. One thing about CM Punk is that he always impresses the fans. He might go longer than most people think. Maybe CM Punk can go for another few years until 2029, just to put a year.

CM Punk’s dream matches always had Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart in his list of past stars. In WWE’s current time, Punk has already wrestled Gunther, but he hasn’t faced another dream opponent, Cody Rhodes. It would be a star-caliber match to see if Punk were to go against Cody.

If WWE plays its cards right, CM Punk might face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 42. Other past opponents Punk can go against are both Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio because Punk always enjoyed working with those two men.

CM Punk can face Kevin Owens. Even though it’s hard to determine the chances of that match occurring due to Owens’ severe neck injury, there is still hope for Owens to return to the ring. Other names, such as LA Knight and Finn Bálor, would be credible opponents for Punk, since they’re all currently on the same show.

Randy Orton

Randy Orton is the longest tenured wrestler in WWE today, as he has been in the active roster since 2002. From being the youngest talent in the locker room to now a locker room leader, Orton has so much to offer before he retires from WWE. Since Orton’s contract expires around 2029, Orton expressed that he wants to retire at 50 years old, which would be in 2030.

With a career heading to almost 30 years, Orton can work with anyone in WWE. Now that he has accomplished everything in wrestling, he’s at the point in his role where he can elevate younger stars. Regardless of Orton being a face or heel, deep down, he is giving back to the business by putting current talent over.

Rey Mysterio

Alongside Randy Orton and AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio has also discussed plans for his retirement. Mysterio stated in his Hall of Fame speech that he will retire somewhere in his 50s. Now that Mysterio is 51 years old, retirement is nearing for sure. Since WWE will focus on AJ Styles’ retirement in 2026, WWE will likely save Mysterio’s retirement tour for 2027.

For Mysterio’s Farewell Tour, WWE can have him work with wrestlers in TNA and WWE’s other partnered company, AAA. Knowing Mysterio’s passion for wrestling, he would be honored to wrestle in Mexico, which was where he started. His final opponent could be his son, Dominik Mysterio, as it would be a full-circle moment.

Sheamus

Although Sheamus hasn’t hinted at any form of retirement, it doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t have a retirement tour. Sheamus can use his retirement tour as a story where he chases the Intercontinental Championship. That title is vital to Sheamus, as he never won that title. If Sheamus ever wins that belt, he would be crowned as Grand Slam Champion, a list not many wrestlers are part of.

One thing Sheamus knows how to do is throw in “banger” matches. Seeing the chemistry he has with Gunther, Rusev, and Drew McIntyre, what if he faces wrestlers from NXT? A match between Sheamus and Oba Femi could bring numbers for both stars. Oba Femi, a muscular Nigerian powerhouse against Sheamus, would deliver a great matchup.

Which wrestlers do you believe deserve a retirement tour?
