He is one of the most coveted and accomplished wrestlers in modern times, and is one of the only wrestlers to achieve WWE Grand Slam Champion status in both the original and the current format.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Given Jericho\u2019s legacy and popularity, his re-entry into the WWE would make an immediate impact by reshaping current roster dynamics. This matchup would reignite an old rivalry between the two and would be a thrilling exploration of the history Chris Jericho has had with Owens.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u201cJeri-KO\u201d tag team debuted in April 2016 and teamed together until the infamous \u201cFestival of Friendship\u201d episode on Raw in February 2017, where Kevin Owens turned on his friend, ending their relationship. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This betrayal erupted into a bitter feud between the two, leading to their battle for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 33 on April 2, 2017, with Owens defeating Jericho to win the title. The return of both Owens and Jericho would be an exciting opportunity for WWE to resolve unfinished business and run it back between these two one final time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2><b>Cody Rhodes\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho having a few singles matches between 2009 and 2013, they have never had a feud inside the WWE ring. This, however, is not the most intriguing element for a potential storyline between these two. Both superstars departed WWE in 2019 for the newly formed AEW, where they had a significant feud in the early days of the company.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jericho, as the inaugural AEW World Champion, battled Rhodes for the title in what would be the first pivotal storyline of the young company. Both men took their feud to intense, deeply personal levels, which blurred the lines between storyline and real life, with Jericho verbally attacking Rhodes\u2019s family. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With Rhodes, the current holder of the Undisputed WWE Champion, a storyline between the two would be an interesting turn from their battles in AEW when Jericho was the title holder.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seeing Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes taking their AEW feud to the WWE stage would be massive for fans, bringing instant high-stakes drama and providing a chance to see their historic rivalry reignite and continue on the biggest stage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<h2><b>CM Punk\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CM Punk, the current World Heavyweight Champion, would make a thrilling opponent for Chris Jericho for several reasons, with the title belt being one of the most compelling. If Jericho were to feud with Punk, it would give him an opportunity to compete for perhaps his last championship in WWE, and also give him a chance to win the fourth World Heavyweight Championship of his career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most interesting aspect of this potential matchup is that Punk and Jericho have feuded in the past, most notably in 2012. The in-ring tension between the two escalated to a profoundly personal level, resulting in attacks that reached an intensity seldom seen in WWE. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jericho targeted Punk\u2019s family and his \u201cstraight edge\u201d lifestyle as they battled over who was the \u201cBest in the World\u201d. They fought in multiple matches, leading up to their first major encounter of the storyline at WrestleMania 28 on April 1, 2012, which Punk won, retaining his title.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The buildup to the second matchup was even more electric, as Jericho, as the heel in the storyline, dissected Punk\u2019s past issues with alcohol and attempted to use them to weaken Punk. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Their rematch at Extreme Rules, a few weeks later, took place in Punk\u2019s hometown of Chicago in a \u201cChicago Street Fight\u201d that was far more brutal than the first matchup. It was the storyline and promo battles between the two that took their encounters over the top.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reigniting the past feud between Punk and Jericho, which spilled over into real life, would bring an exciting, nostalgic dynamic back to WWE that fans who witnessed the legendary 2012 feud would be elated to watch unfold. The ultimate grudge match that could take place would be epic, giving fans the opportunity to see two masters of the mic clash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chris Jericho\u2019s potential WWE return, fueled by hints on his social media and media rumors, remains officially unconfirmed. However, there will definitely be big shoes needing to be filled once John Cena\u2019s final match is over.
