He wouldn’t get far, as SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis would order him to leave. Drew would surprisingly follow without incident. Unfortunately for him, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes didn’t do the same, assaulting Drew as he sped off. Rhodes retaliated when McIntyre assaulted him in his own tour bus. Livid, the “American Nightmare,” would march into the ring. Rhodes demanded retribution, asking Aldis to reinstate McIntyre so he could exact his revenge. Cody said Drew broke an unwritten rule by attacking him on his tour bus, where his family was. The champion said that McIntyre’s a “cockroach,” and that he may not have beaten Cody, but he could be the man who broke him, before making one last plea to Aldis to bring Drew back.

Next up, Carmelo Hayes challenges Ilja Dragunov in the U.S. Open Challenge. These two rekindled their rivalry from NXT a few years ago, having a physical battle. Hayes came extremely close to dethroning Dragunov in this one, already primed to hit Ilja with Nothing but Net. Unfortunately, a confrontation pre-match with Tommaso Ciampa would cost Hayes. Ciampa would pull Melo’s feet, leading to him crashing into the top turnbuckle. None the wiser, Dragunov would capitalize, hitting Torpedo Moscow then an H-Bomb to retain. Dragunov did not know what had happened, and when he saw the footage, the champion was livid.

Cathy Kelley caught up with LA Knight, and the Megastar made it crystal clear that he’s out here to drop Gunther and retire John Cena at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Earlier in the night, Cathy Kelley also spoke with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, with the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions stating that post-WarGames, they’re more focused than ever and they’re gunning for the titles once again. For now, WWE Raw star Kairi Sane arrives on SmackDown, as she takes on Alexa Bliss in singles competition. In their first-ever one-on-one bout, Sane and Bliss showed up and showed out. Bliss had Sane on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, Asuka at ringside would be the difference-maker. Charlotte Flair would come to her partner’s aid, allowing Bliss to capitalize finally. Kairi would go for the InSANE Elbow, only to have Bliss catch her in mid-air and turn it into a Sister Abigail DDT for the win. Bliss and Flair could not celebrate long as Lash Legend and Nia Jax would hit the ring, battering the former gold-holders. Legend and Jax weren’t done, beating down Asuka and Kairi Sane. Kairi almost got crushed by an Annihilator if it weren’t for Asuka pulling her out. Lash and Nia’s intentions were made clear; they’re after the titles as well.

SmackDown GM Nick Aldis called two big-time NXT stars to inform them about an opportunity at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and Alba Fyre went at it. Cargill, like a house on fire, would dispose of Fyre like she was nothing, hitting her with Jaded to leave her lying on the floor battered for the win.

Solo Sikoa and his MFT speak to the WWE Universe. Sikoa put the Wyatt Sicks on notice, stating that he wants to prove that “Uncle Howdy” Bo Dallas doesn’t deserve to be called a “Wyatt,” and that he’ll take everything from him because he “BO-Lieves.” All hell broke loose when the lights went out, and The Wyatt Sicks and MFT broke out into a massive brawl, with the MFT exacting revenge from last week.

SmackDown GM Nick Aldis called in WWE Raw star Bayley to talk to her about a showcase match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.

For the main event of the evening, it’s the finals of the John Cena “The Last Time is Now Tournament” to determine the “Never Seen 17’s” final opponent at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, pitting Gunther against LA Knight. This was quite a showcase, WWE Universe. No one knew who would come out on top. In the end, Gunther secured his date with John Cena in his final match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, which saw the “Ring General” pull out a statement move to overcome Knight.

That’s all for REAL-TIME WWE SmackDown results for December 5, 2025.

More From LWOS Pro Wrestling

Header photo – WWE – Stay tuned to the Last Word on Pro Wrestling for more on WWE SmackDown results and other stories from around the world of wrestling, as they develop.
