The final WWE PLE of 2025, WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, brought the intensity to a degree the WWE Universe was not prepared for. We saw a new champion<\/a>, two amazing WarGames matches, albeit with one ending in a ton of controversy<\/a>, as well as the final PLE match<\/a> in the illustrious career of the “G.O.A.T.” This Friday, we deal with all the fallout. Here’s a WWE SmackDown preview for December 5, 2025.<\/p>\n

The Never Seen 17’s Swan Song Opponent<\/h2>\n

On this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw, we saw Gunther overcome the barbaric Solo Sikoa to secure his spot in the finals of the John Cena “The Last Time is Now” Tournament. Many argue that the bout between Sikoa and Gunther was the most physical matchup in this whole tournament. Sikoa had his best match to date, going up against the “Ring General.”<\/p>\n

In the end, the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion had his hand raised after a brutal battle with the former self-proclaimed “Tribal Chief.” On the other side of the bracket, LA Knight would pull off the upset of all upsets in this tournament by taking down another former world champion in his own right, Jey Uso.<\/p>\n

Everyone thought we were going to get another installment in the rich feud between Gunther and Jey Uso. But LA Knight had other plans, pulling off this unprecedented victory and setting up the finals of this tournament that will determine who will be John Cena’s final opponent at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025.<\/p>\n

The spot of being Cena’s final opponent was so coveted that Jey Uso ended up throwing a massive fit after his loss to Knight, which goes to show, WWE Universe, what a distinct honor it is to be the one to end Cena’s in-ring WWE career.<\/p>\n

It all comes down to this: LA Knight versus Gunther, who will be the final opponent of John Cena in two weeks?<\/p>\n
