With the Gold and Blue League’s slots filled with exciting wrestlers, the show is bound to have gripping in-ring action. Fletcher, irate over the events of Full Gear, got heated before dapping up Okada. The Rainmaker maintained control through a side headlock. Fletcher winced when Okada jokingly teased a chest chop. At last, Fletcher gained some motion with a shoulder tackle.

Lateral Press, courtesy of Fletcher, dazed Okada, but a chop to the chest woke him up. The Protostar targeted the Continental Champion’s shoulder with his elbow. Noticing Fletcher perched atop the turnbuckle, a horizontal-prone Okada kicked Referee Mike Knox into the ropes, impacting his challenger’s nether region severely. Fletcher returned the favor in the same way. Slamming Okada every which way but loose, Fletcher hit him with Kawada Kicks.

An Elbow Drop from the top rope weakened the Protostar, but he recovered in time to counter a Rainmaker into a suplex. Okada recovered with a DDT from the ring apron to the floor. The pair traded forearms and elbows next, ultimately devolving into big moves. Once again, Fletcher countered a Rainmaker, this time with a Michinoku Driver. With less than five minutes left on the clock, the two swung madly at each other desperately; Okada finally landed his Rainmaker. However, a powerbomb by Fletcher brought him a comeback. Knox twice nearly came into the crossfire. Fletcher transitioned a Rainmaker into a Kasadora Flip for the pinfall.

(Exactly the type of match one would expect of a tournament match with limits. There’s something special there, but that’s no surprise given the talent involved.)

Kenny Omega interview

Lexy Nair, outside of Omega’s locker room, asked if he and the Young Bucks could be considered reunited. He admitted he was not sure, but added that if his own friends and the fans could see past his faults, maybe the Bucks could be given a second chance. Speaking of, the Jackson twins of the Young Bucks exited Omega’s locker room, much to Nair’s confusion.

Mark Briscoe heartfelt post-Full Gear promo

Mournfully addressing the melancholy of becoming the TNT Champion without his brother Jay, Briscoe professed pride in winning it. Additionally, he expressed gratitude for his found family in the Conglomeration. The new champion dedicated this reign of his to both his found family and his blood family.

Babes of Wrath (Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale) defeated Sisters of Sin (Skye Blue & Julia Hart)

Cameron, not taking Hart seriously, quickly got the better of her. Nightingale pummelled Blue, soon slamming her partner into the Sister of Sin. Cameron continued to whittle away at Hart. Blue, however, had more luck, raining forearms as she held the Aussie to the mat. Eventually, Hart and Blue took turns on Cameron, weakening her so the former could position her for the latter’s dropkick.

Incensed, Nightingale clobbered Hart around the ring, punctuated by a Spinebuster. Blue met Nightingale with a DDT, joining Hart in kicking her with a kick to the small of her back. Signalling for a tag, Nightingale waited for Cameron to return to the ropes for a slam onto Blue. Nightingale attempted a save for Cameron, but Blue kept her at bay. The Babes of Wrath struck the Sisters of Sin with Backstabbers. Nightingale finished the match with an excruciating powerbomb to Hart.

(Cameron made for a great pincushion to elevate Nightingale’s hot tags, and the Sisters of Sin were a gripping foil to bounce off of. An easy, compelling babyface win. I feel Babes of Wrath will collide soon with Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir. That said, Julia Hart still has yet to recover the ability she had before her 2024 shoulder injury.)

The Opps Celebrated Samoa Joe’s AEW Men’s World Championship Win, Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page Interrupted

Eschewing Tony Schiavone from the proceedings, Samoa Joe’s joy quickly evaporated as Strickland and Page entered the arena. Ordering Katsuyori Shibata to “get the scrubs” (referring to The Opps Dojo), Joe told the Nashville fans to be silent. He then ordered a video package to follow. In it, Hook’s faux alliance with Hangman Adam Page and Eddie Kingston was highlighted, as was his betrayal of the former World Champion.

The new Men’s World Champion beckoned Hook, and the two embraced. The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil insulted the Tennessee crowd, proclaiming himself as the greatest second-generation wrestler the industry has ever seen. Strickland’s music interjected, as did Page’s. The Opps Dojo sought to hurdle the men, but Page’s strength and Strickland’s spale gun leveled the playing field.

The pair powerbombed the last of the henchmen as The Opps retreated to the entrance. Page and Strickland tied a steel chain around the necks of two Dojo members and hung them.

Death Riders promo package

Jon Moxley’s post-match promo from Full Gear aired, featuring his impassioned speech about there being another match tomorrow. In the background were half-hearted gazes from his stablemates.

Jon Moxley defeated Mascara Dorada

Dorada escaped Moxley’s grappling attempts, but fell back after some sudden strikes. Sensing this game plan, Dorada used his agility to get a brief upper hand. One dive from between the ropes returned momentum into Moxley’s favor. Dorada gained some edge shoving Moxley around and off the entrance ramp, but one errant elbow from the Death Rider rattled the luchador.

Drop toehold and hurricanrana into the barricade left Moxley gasping for air. A kick combination and Code Red nearly handed Moxley his first Continental Classic loss of 2025. Moxley got his revenge, barraging Dorada in the skull with forearms. Fortunately for Dorada, he found the strength to plummet Moxley with a neckbreaker. With a juji gatame applied, Moxley recoiled in fear. Moxley retaliated with a running knee strike.

Dorada hit Moxley with a 450 Splash, nearly puncturing all air from his midsection. Aiming for a Shooting Star Press, Dorada fell prey to a choke applied by Moxley, puncturing the carotid artery. Moxley advances in the Blue League.

Post-match: Toni Storm entered wearing an elegant robe; Moxley held back Marina Shafir (who came to celebrate with him). Storm addressed Moxley, assuming herself “the least bitchy person in this ring.” Denouncing the Death Riders’ penchant for hate, she proclaimed she operated out of love. Moving on to Shafir, Storm decided the stipulation for their Women’s World Tag Team Championship Semi-Finals match: A Hardcore Holiday Death Match. No tags, no disqualifications, and no count-outs.

(A nice bounce back for Moxley, and an interesting blend of styles.)

Kris Statlander promo with Renee Paquette

Statlander wondered what was next for her after defeating Mercedes Mone at Full Gear. She said she could look to the past, the present, or the future. With nothing else to add, she asked who would be coming with her.

Kevin Knight defeated Darby Allin

Abandoning their unique styles, Allin and Knight engaged in a war of grapples, staying grounded and simple. Knight shocked Allin with a boot, catapulting him into the ropes. Allin recoiled, tending to his leg before throwing himself towards Knight. Knight evaded this and moonsaulted off the barricade onto his opponent. A tope knocked Knight back, but Allin still struggled from his awkward landing earlier.

Knight dropkicked Allin to the outside. On the entrance ramp, a vulnerable Allin’s instincts kicked in, sweeping the leg. Allin supplanted Knight’s agility with an Avalanche DDT, but couldn’t move for most of the 10-count. Sensing Allin making a comeback, Knight leapt with a forearm as he soared above the top rope. He kicked out at the last second following Allin’s Code Red.

Across the ring, Knight flew in a Coast-to-Coast dropkick, winning via pinfall after a UFO Splash onto Allin.

(The right choice. Knight’s arsenal has the potential for greatness. So far, off to a great start.)

Eddie Kingston addressed The Opps

Tennessee cheered at Kingston’s appearance backstage. Hurt by Hook’s actions at Full Gear, Kingston opted not to talk about him. Nevertheless, he did mention his ire for the rest of The Opps, challenging Katsuyori Shibata on the November 29 episode of AEW Collision.

Claudio Castagnoli versus Orange Cassidy

Seeking to topple the giant, Cassidy instead suffered a Tilt-a-Whirl Backbreaker from Castagnoli. Cassidy caught Castagnoli’s leg, offering up his meager little kicks. A deep arm drag tumbled the towering Death Rider outside, but he retaliated with a clothesline. Though he struggled to gain hold of his denim-clad foe, Castagnoli caught and swung Cassidy into the barricade.

Back in the ring, Castagnoli denied Cassidy any opportunity to put his hands in his pocket; he even swung the Freshly Squeezed one by his wrists. Dragging him by his denim, Castagnoli dizzied him further. A DDT and a Penalty Kick tenderized Castagnoli. The Swiss wrestler sought to uppercut his opponent, but instead clashed with the ringpost. Aiming to slam Cassidy, Castagnoli instead fell victim to a Stundog Millionaire. Sneaking in a European Uppercut, Castagnoli drove his elbow into Cassidy’s jaw on the mat. A Giant Swing from Castagnoli countered Cassidy’s Beach Break. The pair battled with signature moves and grapples, but a DDT and an aerial Orange Punch softened Castagnoli for a successful Beach Break.

Cassidy tried another Orange Punch for naught, as Castagnoli caught him for a prime and disastrous European Uppercut. As a result, he and fellow Death Rider will clash one-on-one on the December 3 episode of AEW Dynamite in the Blue League Continental Classic.

Post-match: Renee Paquette sought to interview the Death Riders. Orange Cassidy assaulted an unassuming Wheeler Yuta, but the Death Riders ganged up on him. Konosuke Takeshita, Kyle Fletcher, Mike Bailey, Roderick Strong, and Mascara Dorada flooded the scene, with Dorada moonsaulting off into the Death Riders. Kazuchika Okada gazed uselessly from the entrance as Takeshita and Fletcher embraced.

Closing thoughts

The only way to follow up on a Full Gear with a Continental Classic coming is to integrate both. Moxley’s fallout and the Don Callis Family drama are gaining some momentum. Additionally, Mascara Dorada and Kevin Knight are already benefiting, keeping them fresh in public perception. While I wish the Women’s World Tag Team Tournament could’ve had more juice, it’s understandable given the hellacious schedule of the Continental Classic’s round-robin format. Lastly, the image of Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland uniting against The Opps continues the full circle moment of their relationship as enemies to allies. All in all, a fun show. However, hopefully, Tony Khan sees the discourse surrounding the Continental Classic as being for the Continental Championship, when it should be the Unified Championship it was absorbed into.

AEW Dynamite results from Nashville, TN, tonight will be available throughout the show.
