It is hard to believe but the last time…is less than a week away as Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII featuring John Cena’s final match, takes place this Saturday on December 13. WWE has been building up to this monumental event for months, starting with Cena’s own announcement at the last SNME, that there would be a tournament to determine his final challenger. The results of the tournament held firm to what the rumors said and on Saturday, Cena will take on Gunther for the first time and the last time<\/a>. It was also Cena’s will that this not be a John Cena tribute show and more be a showcase of the bright future for WWE. In addition to Cena’s final bow, the card will feature main roster talent taking on NXT talent which will feature more first-time ever matches.<\/p>\n

The card is beginning to take shape with more matches to be announced in the coming days. But before we get into that, here is what we know so far and all of the details on how to watch the greatest of all time say his final goodbye.<\/p>\n

John Cena vs Gunther<\/h2>\n

The best match on the card is also the one we’ve known about for some time. Gunther gets his shot at Cena<\/a>, and he’s already promised he’ll make the legend tap out on Saturday. It should be noted that Gunther and Cena have never shared a ring in any capacity. Plus, Gunther is developing quite the reputation as after Saturday, he’ll have retired both Goldberg and Cena in short order. Cena is promising to give it his all in his final match. It is sure to be emotional as he goes out, whether its on his back or in victorious fashion. Either way, Saturday night will mark the end of an extraordinary era as Cena leaves his boots in the ring<\/a>, exiting how he wanted to – leaving WWE a better place than he found it.<\/p>\n

Cody Rhodes vs Oba Femi<\/h2>\n

As noted above, part of Cena’s request to Triple H for his final match was to put the spotlight on the rising talents in NXT. The first such match of the showcase was announced after NXT Deadline as Femi defeated Ricky Starks to regain the NXT Championship and with it, booked himself a date with the WWE Champion for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Rhodes and Femi have never wrestled each other so this one is sure to be good with Rhodes representing WWE’s present and Femi it’s bright future.<\/p>\n
